TINA WHITTEMORE is not good with stress. She likes when things are simple, calm, and stress free. Unlike most, Tina enjoys everything about the mundane activities of every day life— wake up, argue with her brother on the way to school, barely pass science, hang out with her only friend, attend soccer practice, and then come home and hide under the covers. Well... at least that's what she pretends her life is like. But being a werewolf makes living the normal teenage life a smidge more difficult.

  Tina has come to the conclusion that she was born a werewolf. Since she has never been bitten by one. She'd remember that— every traumatizing moment of her life lives on constant repeat in her mind 24/7. However, a wolf bite is just not one of them. Considering the fact Tina is adopted, it is to be assumed that she inherited this gift from one of her birth parents. Tina would love to hunt them down and ask why the hell they thought putting a baby werewolf up for adoption was a good decision, but there is absolutely no record of who her parents are. None.

  When Tina was a week old, she was left on the steps of the Beacon Hills police station. No note. Nothing to indicate who her parents are and why they left her there. Luckily for her, she was soon adopted by a lovely couple. David and Macy Whittemore were unable to have children of their own and had plenty of money to raise a family. They adopted a newborn baby boy around the same time, they named him Jackson.

  Tina's very first friend lived across the street. His name was Isaac Lahey, and he stuck to Tina like glue all throughout their early days of elementary school. Isaac and Tina would always play outside from sunrise to sunset, with Jackson joining every once in a while. Isaac and Jackson found themselves developing a love for the most popular sport in Beacon Hills, lacrosse. Tina was not a fan. She hates how small the ball is and she always felt like an idiot running around with a giant stick. The sport she found herself surprisingly loving was soccer. Even though she wasn't very coordinated when it came to moving the ball around, she did have very good reflexes, which made her a pretty good goalie. Jackson would always complain and say the only reason she saved his shots is because soccer is for losers. Her brother is always such a sweetheart.

  As the trio grew older, they found themselves drifting apart. After the death of Isaac's older brother, Cameden, the boy rarely left his home and would ignore Tina at school. Jackson found out he was adopted around the same time, leading him to push himself away from their parents, becoming cold and defensive, and acting like a complete asshole. That left Tina, sad and alone. Then, something happened, changing her life for ever and distracting her from the fact that she was alone.

At the age of twelve, the werewolf gene was activated and she found herself jumping out her window and running around the woods in her bunny slippers on the night of the full moon. Luckily for her, over the years she's been able to learn control. Tina's parents have no idea— she's worried that they would be terrified of her and send her into foster care. Though they love her unconditionally, Tina always worries about the worst possible outcome. Jackson, her brother, doesn't know because he's to obsessed with himself and his popularity status to notice anything. The only one who knows is her best friend, Erica Reyes.

  Tina Whittemore is ready for another attempt at a normal year of high school. She's hoping to at least get a C in science, become the starting goalie on the soccer team, and maybe even go on a date. You know, normal teenage shit. But when a boy named Scott McCall approaches her in the hall, sniffing her like a weirdo, all hopes of a normal year fly out the window.
