A/N. How are you liking the story? I really enjoy writing it. I just want you guys to like it as well.
_______________________ Zayn's P.O.V.
"Doyouthinkwecanadoptherplease?!?!" Perrie asked in a rush. She looks at me and smile. "Well, if that would make you happy. We can go tomorrow." I smile at her. "Yay. Thanks babe. I love you." She say as she kisses me. In my head I'm feeling mixed emotions. It's making Perrie so happy and that makes me happy but what if this girl doesn't like me? I think of a lot of what ifs. I must have been out of it because I didn't notice Perrie leave and come back. She had a stack of magazines in her hands and set them on the table. Looking at the covers they were home design books. "I thought we could look at this and pick out a few rooms we liked and then let her choose her favorite one." Perrie says with excitement. "Okay. Lets get started. Do you know what she likes?" I say flipping through a book of paint colors. "Well no not really, but she's a little girl she probably likes pink and rainbows." Perrie says with some of the excitement gone. "Okay well pink and rainbows that's new. Maybe we should get her home and let her decide what she wants." I smile at her. "Okay. That sounds like a better idea. Now lets go to bed. We have an important date tomorrow!" Perrie says running off to our bedroom. Tomorrow. The day I become a daddy. I smile to myself and join Perrie in bed and soon fall asleep.
Perrie's P.O.V
I get up at 6:00 which is weird for a Saturday but I wanted to look nice for Caroline. I also wanted to be the first one at the orphanage. I get up and shower before going into the kitchen to make Zayn and I breakfast. Soon I hear Hatchi's claws tapping down then hallway before hearing footsteps. Soon I feel arms around my waist. "You're up early." Zayn says looking half asleep. "Yes I want to look nice for the adoption. You should too. Go shower or no pancakes for you. Hatchi can have them." I order him and smile. He throws his hands up in defeat and heads to the shower. 15 minutes later he's back and sits at the table. I put a plate of pancakes in front of him and give half of one to Hatchi before sitting down myself. As we eat all I can think about is if Caroline will be happy with us. I hope she is. From the moment i saw her and heard what the others said, I fell in love with her. Soon we all finish eating and we get dressed. By now it's 7:15 and then adoption starts at 8:00. We tell Hatchi we'll be back soon with a surprise. Oh I hope she likes dogs. We get to the orphanage at 7:55 and walk in when we see the door open at 8. Oh I'm so happy.
Caroline's P.O.V.
It's my least favorite day of the week. Adoption Saturday. I never get picked. But I put on my fancy dress and brush my teeth and hair and hope maybe today is the day. When I go downstairs I see that I'm the first awake and then I hear the front door open. I see the blonde girl from yesterday. Maybe she liked one of the girls. But it's not me. I didn't talk to her. She sees me and smiles at me. I almost smile back but then I see she's with a man. Oh no. I walk into the kitchen and Miss Sarah gives me cereal. I love Miss Sarah, she takes care of me. By now it's 8 and the adoption day has started. Great.
Perrie's P.O.V.
We walk in and a woman comes up to us and smiles. "Hello. My name is Sarah. Can I help you?" she asks us. "Yes. You can. We want to adopt a little girl." Zayn says smiling. "Okay. Do you have a certain one in mind? Or do you need to look at some papers?" She asks excited. "I met a little girl yesterday named Caroline. I want her." I say smiling. The woman's smile fades. "Well if you really want her, you'll need to know about her. She's special." she drags the last part out. "Um okay." Zayn and I both say as we follow her into her office. "So why's she special?" I ask her concerned. "The reason she is in the orphanage is because her mother died shortly after her birth. Her dad took her home and he abused her. One day a neighbor heard her scream and called the police. But by then she was 4. She's now 5. And she's terrified of men," she says looking at Zayn, "if you give her time and show her you won't hurt her then she'll start to grow closer to you. But I doubt she'll even look at you for a few days maybe even weeks. But I know she'd be happy if you adopted her. After you and your friends left yesterday, Perrie, she talked about you all night. You made an impression on her." She smiled at me. Wow. That poor baby. How can anyone hurt a sweet child like that? "Well, I still want her. Zayn is great with kids and we'd never hurt her. She'll be okay." I look at Zayn. "Yes we want her. She'll learn soon." Zayn said. "Okay you need to fill these out and I'll get Caroline ready!" she leaves excited. We filled out all the forms and waited for her to get back. Soon we heard her walking back. "Okay so all the papers are signed and what do you want for her last name?" she said looking at us. We never thought about that. "We want to hyphenate our last names. Edwards-Malik." Zayn smiles. I know he's excited. We sign the papers and head out to get our new little girl.
Caroline's P.O.V.
Miss Sarah walks into the kitchen and smiles at me. "Guess what Caroline, you get a new mummy and daddy today!" she smiles at me. My eyes get wide. "A new mummy and......daddy? I say the last part as more of question. "Yes. The girl from yesterday Perrie and her boyfriend Zayn are going to take you home. Are you excited?" she asks me. "Yes." I say a little uneasy. "Okay let's go meet your mummy and daddy!" she says cleaning my hands and picks up my suitcase she had brought down. We walk into the main room and I see other girls talking to people. Then I see Perrie. She smiles and walks up to me. I see her boyfriend behind her. He smiles and waves but I just stand behind Miss Sarah. Maybe I should just stay here. But I do want to go with Perrie. I'll try it.
Zayn's P.O.V.
I see Sarah walk back with a little blonde girl who looks like she could be Perrie's real daughter. She's so small. Perrie sees them and walks up to her. She sees me and I smile and wave at her. She just moved behind Sarah. "Hello Caroline. I'm your new mummy!" Perrie tells her. I see Caroline's face light up. "And this is your new daddy." she says and points to me. I see her smile fade. I just want her to like me. But she'll learn. I'm not like her old dad. I'd never hurt her. I just want to love her.
Perrie's P.O.V.
I walk to up Caroline and tell her I'm her new mummy and Zayn is her new daddy. She smiles then her smile fades. "Okay. All the papers are signed so you can take her home now." Sarah says smiling. "Are you ready Caroline?" I say smiling and holding out my hand for her to take. She slowing puts her hand in mine. I smile and she let's go and hugs Sarah goodbye. "Goodbye Miss Sarah I'll miss you." Caroline says and runs back to me. I pick her up with ease as she is so light. "Let's go home, Zayn." I say putting Caroline into the car seat I borrowed from a neighbor for the day. We will need to buy one tomorrow when we go shopping. She'll need clothes and things for her bedroom. Zayn gets in the driver's seat and we head home.
