Chapter 8: Breaks

Hello, your friendly neighborhood Spider here. I'm here to utterly destroy this fourth wall.

I'm going to tell you how screwed I am here.

As Scarlett previously mentioned while writing. Aunt Nat and Uncle Clint will not physically let me call them anything else. I'm going to freaking die because of this. Maybe I can get away with it as Spidey but I doubt it have you tried going up against two super spy glares that are both close in ferocity to Fury's?

AS: At least you won't have to keep secrets anymore if they find out.

DS: But what if they hate you? It would utterly crush you. Do anything to keep your identity a secret even if it involves arson.

AS: NO! DON'T COMMIT ARSON

OH MY GODS Angel Spidey, Devil Spidey shut up. You're sounding like me and Anonymous. Peter they won't hate you promise you're too nice for that. Also, I would advise letting your friends into your little family circle. No one deserves to be alone. Danny, Ava, Luke, and Sam would never hurt you.

Never

Promise?

We promise.

Yeah bud, no matter how much it pains me to admit it. You're one of my closest friends even if your head is filled with Webs

Spider you never need to fear us we would never willingly betray you.

Can we get on with the story now?

Yeah. Yeah

Go on finishing your little story.

Thank you. Also, you know what? Ava, you should read Hunger Games.

*pulls out book* I've already started

We will fangirl together at a later date

I look forward to it.

Tony did not recover quickly from the blow Natasha struck. She was right but his pride would never let him admit it. Even if he did want to be a father besides just to Peter. How would he do after how Howard treated him?

Tony looked up from where he was busily trying to track any signal from Ock with little success.

"I need a break," he sighed.

Tony turned off his computers and holograms before returning to the common room. In the common room lay five prone figures. A movie was playing in the background but each of the figures was asleep. The feminine figure laid atop the figure with curly hair who had his arm over the darkest figure. The darkest figure was being used as a pillow by two other figures, one on each side. The black-haired figure was on the left with the blond on the right. The blond gave off a soft glow in the dark. Each figure was illuminated by the TV playing the end credits.

Upon closer inspection, Tony realized that the figures were the teens he was housing and his adopted child. Tony clicked off the movie to find the children watching the first Hobbit movie.

He hadn't noticed her until she moved to lay a cover on top of the sleeping teens. She blended into the shadows until she didn't want to anymore.

"Oh good they're finally out," Natasha said relieved.

"What do you mean finally?" Tony asked quizzically.

"They refused to go to sleep saying they needed to study. I brought out the air mattress and plopped them down in front of the TV. Had FRIDAY lock the exits and turned on the movie. Stayed in here until they passed out," Natasha said nonchalantly.

"You care about them just as much as me don't you?"

"Just a little."

"Oh, are they out?" Clint popped out of the vents.

"Yeah," Natasha replied.

"Blackmail," Clint said snapping a picture.

"Send me the picture," Natasha and Tony said at the same time.

"Of course," Clint clicked a few buttons, and a soft ding emitted from the phones.

"Hey FRIDAY," Tony called.

"YES BOSS," FRIDAY asked.

"Add this to the fridge."

"OF COURSE."

A new image appeared where different photos of the Avengers were flickering on and off of the tv screen on the fridge.

Each of the three Avengers in the room headed off in their own direction.

Steve was the first to wake up officially but by that point, the Ultimates had moved positions but were still intertwined. This time it was more of a mess of limbs but still adorable. Peter seemed to be clinging to Luke with Sam right next to him. Danny was almost pushed off the bed but his armed was intertwined with Luke's other side with Lukes's right on top of his arm and Ava's leg on top of both of them. Ava was almost lying on Luke but was also lying right on top of Peter almost.

"FRIDAY take a picture. Add it to the fridge."

"ALREADY DONE," FRIDAY responded. Steve nodded and started making coffee for when Sam and Bucky walked in ready for their run.

Sam and Bucky walked in ten minutes later to see the teens in the same position that Steve walked in on. They cooed a little and asked if FRIDAY took a picture. When she confirmed they asked her to send it to them. She complied and small dings were heard from their phones.

They nodded contently taking a cup of coffee from Steve nursing it for a few minutes until the pot was empty, the heroes headed for their run.

Clint and Nat woke up at the same time and entered the living room at the same time. The team was still huddled close together. Clint came to the conclusion first.

"Peter must have gotten cold," Clint realized. He checked his phone for the temperature, "Nat it's thirty degrees out there."

Natasha realized what he meant and checked the windows. She found two open and cursed whoever opened them. It was starting to cool off in New York and this wasn't the lowest the day would probably get.

Natasha brought out her phone and texted Coulson.

Natasha:
If we can wake him up we'll send him to school but
it's cold out you might want to make sure the school is warm.

Coulson:
I'm sending a warm car to pick them up.
We don't need him going into
hibernation.
How would we explain that to Tony?

Natasha:
Right now Clint and I are covering them in blankets.
The other four have started sharing body heat with
him.

Coulson:
Good. Good.
Keep him warm.

This may have been good old self-indulgent fluff but who cares.

If you can guess which order the Ultimates spoke in at the top. I'll give you blue cookies.

-Scarlett.
