Jessica's POV
I was getting bored when the door opened. My eyes widened. Pat and Jen were adopting someone from here? My thoughts were soon interrupted when Emma slapped me across the face. I glared at her and she shoved me. I tripped but someone caught me. I turned around and saw that Jen was holding me. She helped me to steady myself and then she let go. "That girl's a jerk." I heard Emma say. "No I'm not." I said. "You made me drop my tray." She said. "Liar." I said. "I have to agree with her." Jen said. "Which one of us?" I asked. "I agree with you." She told me. Pat came over to us.
Jen's POV
Pat. I want her." I said pointing to the girl who I had caught earlier. "I like her too." Pat said. "What's your name?" I asked her. "It's Jessica. You don't want her." The other girl said. "Jessica. Get your things. You're the chosen one." Pat said. "I am?" She asked. "Yep." I said. Jessica ran upstairs and came down with her stuff. We headed into the office
Pat's POV
After I was finished signing the papers to officially adopt Jessica, I paid and left. Jen was already in the car with Jessica. Before I left, I turned to face Jen. "You better behave, Jen." I said. Jen put her seat belt on. "Sorry. I'm just so excited." She said. I looked up in the rear view mirror. "You like cats?" I asked. Jessica nodded. I started the car and left. After awhile, I noticed that we were low on fuel. "We better put some gas in." I said. I pulled into a gas station. I put $50 in the gas tank. Jessica noticed. "Do you have enough money?" She asked. "Relax. I have plenty of money." I said. I opened my wallet and pulled out $60. "Want a soda, Jen?" I asked. "Sure." Jen said. I went inside and got three sodas and paid for them and the gas. After receiving my change, I left. I handed Jen her soda. Then I gave Jessica hers. I started the car and we headed home.
