Jessica's POV
At one point, I was awaken by the thunder again. My phone said it was after midnight. I noticed Pat and Jen's car was still gone. I was freaking out. I had a signal on my cell phone. Just then, my phone buzzed. Pat said that they were going to wait out the storm. I relaxed. I laid back down on the couch and fell asleep. At one point, the thunder stopped and I knew that Pat and Jen were heading home.
Pat's POV
We pulled into the driveway at our house. It was almost three in the morning. Jen was asleep in the passenger seat. I gently shook her awake. We both went inside and saw Jessica asleep on the couch. She wasn't covered up. I noticed her blanket was on the floor. I was too tired to move her so I covered her up with the blanket. Jen was asleep in the chair. I grabbed the blanket off the chair and covered her up with it. I just decided to sleep on the floor. 
When I woke up the next morning, The power was still off. I got up off of the floor. Jessica was still asleep. Jen was sitting in the chair, looking at Jessica. "Jen?" I asked. Jen looked up at me. "Sorry. I was just thinking about something." She said.
Jessica's POV
I woke up in the same place. I noticed Pat and Jen in the room. "Hey Jessica, can you explain what you meant by 'witness a break in' to us?" Jen asked. I sighed. "It's kind of a long story. And a sad one." I said. "Well the power is still out so we have time." Pat said. A few tears fell. "My dad was killed during a break in at our house." I said. "What happened?" Pat asked. "I was six. My parents were in the playroom with me. The glass broke and we heard someone in our house. My dad ran out and then I heard a gun go off. Then the guy comes in and takes my mom and she never returned." I said. Pat and Jen were looking at me. "That must have been awful." Pat said. I noticed that the sun was shining. We decided to go to the beach. When we got there, I was playing around when I crashed into someone. It was a boy. I kept expecting him to run off but the boy kept studying me. I was getting creeped out. Suddenly his eyes widened.
"Jessica? Is that really you?"
