One week later

Jessica's POV

    I woke up early on Monday. After I got dressed, I headed downstairs. "Good morning, mom." I said to Jen. "Good morning." She said. Pat walked in. "Morning dad." I said. He looked around. "Pat, she's talking about you." Mom said. "Oh. Good morning." Dad said. Ross came into the room. "Good morning mom and dad." He said. "Morning." They said. I quickly ate breakfast and left. 

   When I got to school, I saw Kayla. I ran over to her. "I'm so glad you're back. I missed you." She said. "I missed you guys too." I said. Just then Katie, Mike and Ryan came over to us. I got a good look at Ryan. He was pretty good looking. We were talking for a little bit when I heard something. "Hey dork!" It yelled. I cringed. The voice. It sounded way too familiar. Way too evil. "No no no! Not you!" I yelled. Ryan burst into tears. "I wasn't talking about you." I said. "Then who were you talking about?" He asked. I turned around in fear. "Hello Emma." I said. "Leave her alone." Ross said. She turned to him and grabbed him. I grabbed her by the shirt. "Hands off of my brother." I said before letting her go and shoving her. I pulled my backpack around me tighter and went inside. 

   In the middle of my second class, the door opened. Emma was standing there with the principal. "Jessica. Ross. My office. Now." She said. I shot Ross an I'm-so-sorry look before leaving the room. We followed her into her office. She pointed to a chair. "Sit." She said. "Me?" I asked. "Just. Sit. Down!" She snapped. I sat in the chair. "Now Jessica. This school has a no fighting policy." She said. "I was defending my brother." I said. "Emma says you attacked her when she wasn't doing anything." The principal said. "That's a lie." Ross said. "Jessica. I'm going to have to give you a detention." She said. "What?"I asked. "I'm sorry. You'll serve it tomorrow." She said. After awhile we left. I could only form one thought. Mom and dad were going to be mad.
