Maddie's POV

"Hello to you too" I said.

"Why did you get into another fight? That's the third one this year..." he paced around the living room.

I sat on the couch beside Papa. I looked at him and he gave me the look of you-did-this-don't-look-at-me.

"He was picking on Carter, because of his sexuality" I said "I know he can take care of himself, but I can't help it.... I feel like I need to fight to survive"

"Sweety, you don't need  to fight" he sighed "you're safe, if that happens again.... tell someone, don't pick a fight"

I nodded, "I may have also used a Sherlock reference to call him dumb" I scratched the back of my neck.

They both laughed. "W-What did you say?" Papa asked.

"Don't talk, you'll lower the IQ of the whole school...." I said.

"Wow" Dad said "back in a serious note..... Maddie, if you pick a fight one more time, I will ground you from your phone, Xbox, and your tablet. Got it?"

I nodded "yes sir, I understand"

"Hey"papa said "there is a new family across the street, they have a girl about your age Maddie"

"Okay...." I said.

"Do you want to go meet her?"

"Sure"
