Chap 1- A day in the life

Tucker's POV:
I sit at my desk, my eyes fixed on the teacher while my hand scribbles down notes. I don't get what people have against school, I really don't get it! I'm not your basic nerd, I'm not unpopular, I don't go home and read dictionary's, I'm not really a teachers pet, I just  enjoy learning. It's cool to know new stuff, so yeah, I'd rather be at school than at home. In my defense, home isn't really the best place to be... And all my friends are at school! My sister doesn't feel the they same way. I glance over the Sophie's desk, her hand moving rapidly over her notebook. Anyone who was just looking would assume she was taking notes, not doodling. I had to give it to her though, she was a good artist. I go back to focusing on the lesson.
"Sophie," Mr.Hemle starts, "What was the final battle in the revolution and what year was it?"
"The battle of York town, 1781," she responds with full confidence.
"Correct," mr.Hemle sighs. He knew as well as me that Sophie was not paying any attention to the lesson, but she answered correctly so he can't prove it. She doodles for the rest of class, not getting called on.

I sit down on a bench with my friends, enviously watching them gobble down their lunches, glancing down at the pb and j in my hands. I nibble on the edges, at first I wish I had  more before realizing I didn't even have lunch yesterday, so this was a improvement! I eat it slowly, savoring each bite. Will taps me on the shoulder
"Yes?" I say looking up. He hands me a small cupcake."Thanks"
"You're welcome! You looked like you needed more food, your foster parents give you the worst lunches!"
I share a awkward glance with Neal, my closest and best friend. My foster parents weren't to bad... They also weren't good. They left for work at like 5am and came back at like 10pm so we don't see them much. Honestly it's like they don't exist, the only thing they give us is a home, everything else we either came with our bought with our own money that we earned. Yes, we have jobs. Yes, it is hard to find someone who will hire 12 year olds. We babysit. Every other day, 3 hours, 10 bucks per hour.
I quickly eat the cupcake, it's about 100000000000x better than what I normally get. I wish we could have things like that.
The rest of the day goes normally, nothing really happens. Just classes.
"How was your day?" I ask Sophie.
"Meh..." She says, same response as always. Why do I even bother trying to make small talk with the most introverted girl in New York?

Sophie's POV:

We arrive home at 4:30 and I quickly rush up to my room, closing the door behind me. Home sweet home. I have a hour before we go to Tye's house to babysit. Babysitting is pretty fun, I'm pretty good with little kids. At least I think I am. Tye seems to like me.
What should I do while I'm waiting? Well I SHOULD do my homework. What will I do? I WILL go on Instagram and look at Hamilton stuff. Maybe watch some interviews. I find some things that make me laugh and screenshot them.

I hear a knock at my door.
"Yes?"
"It's time to go!"
"Coming!"
I dig through my mess of a room, looking for my shoes. God, were did they go?! I only took them off like a hour ago! Eventually I find them and step out into the frigid winter air. Winter. Just another reminder that the holidays were coming up, and I was gonna get tossed into a new life with a new family. Yeah, my current house isn't perfect, but I've been in much worse. We get a good house. Probably won't though.
The warm air of Tye's preschool feels amazing. I glance at the clock. 4:59. Bbbbrrrriiinnngggg. And now it's 5. A mass of 5 year olds run out to greet their parents. Little kids are so cute!
"Sofy, Tacker!" Tye yells, jumping into 'Tackers' arms. I giggle.
"Up top," I squat down and hold up my hand, inviting a high five. he runs over, accepting the high five. "How was your day?" I ask.
"Gud!" He replies enthusiastically.
"That's good," Tucker joins into the conversation.
"Alright," I say swinging Tye onto my shoulder, "let's go," and with that I run from the building, Tucker close behind.
I let Tye off my shoulder at his house, I ran the whole way and now I'm aggressively panting. Tucker is giggling slightly.
'Yeah, yeah, I'm out of shape, I know." This throws Tucker into more fits of laughter.
"Look wat I have!" Tye rushes in carrying two action fingers (a/n *figures, stupid auto correct. Leaving that cuz it's funny) a green one and and a red one. He hands the red one to Tucker and they begin to play. Seeing that I will not be included I slip into the office to grab a pencil and a few pieces of paper before sitting down at the kitchen table. I begin to sketch the outline of a person.

I've just begun with the dress when a hear a voice.
"Wat are yu doin?"
"Im drawing," I tell Tye honestly.
"Can I dwaw?"
"Sure" I look up to pass him paper and pencil.

We sit in silence for a bit before he pips up, "DONE!"
"Can I see?" I ask politely, because I really hate it when people look at my art without asking. (A/n *cough, cough* mom *cough, cough*)
"Ya!" He eagerly passes me the paper. It just looks like scribbles. I can make out what are either very deformed people mor very deformed dogs.
"That's me" he gestures to the smallest of the people. "That's you, and dats tacker!"
"Aww, I love it!"
We hang out until 8pm before collecting our $30 and going home.

Hey guys! I hope your enjoying the story! Wattpad decided to delete like half my writing and I had rewrite.
