Squid's POV

I lay in my bed. Ugh, I can't get to sleep! I glance at the clock. 3:00 AM. Have I been here for that long? I then look at a picture of me and Nicole. I can't help but smile. She is coming back from her parent's house tomorrow... er...uh today. I am so excited! Wait. I love her. I am ready to ask her something I have been dying to ask. It is time. I jump out from under my covers and grab my phone. I ask Siri, "What is the nearest jewelry store? Zales is her answer. I go on to their website. Perfect! Open 24 hours! I sneak out of my house without waking up Lexi. Wait until she finds out! Wait.. what if she is mad at me? What if she doesn't want me to? I shake my head, silently. She will be happy for me, I just know it!

*Time Skip*

I walk through the doors of the almost-empty jewelry store. "Wow, it must be important if you come in at 3:26." The tall girl says, looking at me. "My girlfriend is coming home tomorrow, and I wanna propose. I say, blushing slightly. "Awww do you want help picking a ring out?" She asks. "No, I think I got it." I search through rings for what seems like forever. Finally I see one. It is a gold ring, with diamonds in a shape of a flower. It is beautiful, congrats to whoever made it. "I think I found one" I say, a smile appearing on my face. "Okay great, which one?" She asks. I motion for her to come.

*Time Skip* (7:00 am)

I walk into Lexi's room. "Hey, sorry to wake ya up so early, but I have some big news!"

Lexi's POV

I groan, when squid apologizes for waking me up early. I roll over and glance at my phone. "7:00?! Couldn't this news wait!?" I ask, pretty angry. "It did! 4 hours!" he says, starting to get annoyed. "Fine, what is it?" I say giving in. This had to be important. "So, Nicole is coming back today, right?" He says. I nod. Is this the news? No, he and I both knew that already. "And at 3:00, I went to get a ring... I want to propose to her." He says. My eyes widen in bewilderment. Propose? He wants to get married!? "Well.... congratulations! I am happy for you!" I say. I am, I am glad to here that he is getting married. He must really love her. "I knew you wouldn't be upset!" He said. "Why would I be?" I ask, hoping he doesn't think I am mean or something. "Exactly, that's why I knew you wouldn't be!" he replies.

Squid's POV

I dial Nicole's number in my phone. "Hello?" She says. Her voice, I missed her voice. "Hi love!" I say. "Come to my house as soon as you get back!" I say excitedly into the phone. "Whyyy?" She asks as if I invited her here to murder her. "It's a surprise... and I love you, and miss you, and wanna see you." I say, blushing even though we are on the phone. "Okay, see ya!" She says, sounding a bit rushed. "Okay love, bye." I say before hanging up the phone.

*Time Skip*

I hear a knock on the door. I grab the velvet box which holds the beautiful ring I picked out for her. I hope she likes it as much as me. I run to the door, and open it. "Hey squid" She says. I kneel down on one foot, holding the box to her. "Nicole? I love you. I wish I could spend every day, every second with you. Would you make me the happiest man in the world, and-" She interrupts me. "Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!" She exclaims.
