Squid's POV

I was asleep peacefully, when a doctor barged through my curtains. "David Spencer?" He asked. I caught a glimpse and saw he is new, I never met him. "Yeah" I sigh. "Well, sorry for interrupting," he says all too quickly. I nod sleepily. "But, we need to run some tests." I groan. "With shots and stuff?" I say upset. "No, a memory test." He says. A shocked expression appears on my face. "Okay, when do we start?" I ask.

I find myself being wheeled into another room. This room has lots of flowers and windows. I like it waaay better than my little curtained off area! "Okay, we have asked your friends some questions they know about you, and given us the answers." A nurse explained. "We will see if you can remember everything you forgot." she says.. "Okay, sounds good to me." I shrug. "Well," She continues. "Let's get started. What are the names of your pets?" She asks. Easy. "Ace the ferret, and Lily the dog." I say. "Beagle, actually." I add. "Correct!" She smiles.

*Time Skip*

After she asked 20 random questions about my life, she wheels me back into my boring, old room. "So, can I have answers about what that was for?" I ask her as she puts me back into place. "Well, we didn't tell you before because we didn't want you to get your hopes up, but you are completely healed. So, if you could remember everything, you get to go home tomorrow. And... you do! You remember!" She explains cheerfully. I smile and my heart lifts up. "I-I'm going home?" I ask, completely surprised. She nods, grinning. "Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes! No offense." I cheer. "None taken. Who wants to stay in this old place when they have a home waiting for 'em?!" She asks. "I know, right!" We laugh. I thank her before she leaves the room.

Lexi's POV

I sit in my bed, on my laptop watching some youtube videos. Suddenly my cellphone starts ringing. Who could be calling me? Luke? Nicole? I press the little green button. "Hello?" I ask. "Lexi Spencer?" A lady asks. "Uh I guess." I say. Who is she? "You are David Spencer's daughter, correct?" She asks. "Yes" I say. "Well, David is able to come home tomorrow." She explains. "Really!?" I ask in disbelief. "No, this is a prank call. Of course it's true!" She yells. "Thanks so much! I'll be there tomorrow!" I say before hanging up.

I start skipping around my room and dancing. I know, I'm such a weirdo. "SQUID'S COMING HOME! SQUID'S COMING HOME!" I sing, probably loud enough for the neighbors to hear, but hey, nobody's perfect! I pick up my phone and punch in Nicole's number. "Lexi? What's up?" She asks. "Squid's coming home tomorrow!" I sing happily. "He is!?" She gasps. "Uh huh!!" I yell until the phone. "Okay! I'll pick you up at 8 and we can take him home!" She says as happy as me. "Got it!" I say. "Bye" "Bye" I hang up. "WHOOO!" I yell before grabbing my pajamas and putting them on. Time for bed!

Squid's POV

*Time Skip*

My eyes open, and I remember what today is. I'm going home! I throw my blanket over my legs and get out of bed. Ah, feels good to be packing. I take all of my clothes, pajamas, and stuff that I own and throw it into my bag. I realize I am still in my hospital gown so I grab my clothes and towel, and head to the bathroom.

Once I am there, I close the door and turn the shower nob to hot. I peel off the ugly, white and blue, strange-smelling gown and step into the shower. As soon as I am done, I carefully get out and put on a grey t-shirt, jeans, and a hoodie. I comb my hair and put on my Air Jordan sneakers before walking back to my bag. A nurse walks in. "Oh, I see your eager to get outta here!" She jokes. "Believe me, I've been eager to leave ever since I knew I was here!" I chuckle. "Well, I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. Your daughter and girlfriend are at the office to pick you up." She informs and walks out. "Wait!" I shout. She turns. "Thanks. For everything."

*Time Skip*

"Thanks for picking me up love" I say as Nicole roles down her window. We just got home. I plant a kiss on her forehead. "Thanks Nicole!" Lexi says before we both start walking to the door. "Bye!" We say at the same time as Nicole starts pulling out of our driveway. "Byee!" She yells back.
