Bag End
The tall and strange boy took me to a small house with a large green door. As he lead me inside, I felt my legs wobbling and my head throbbed. "Ugh. My head hurts." I groaned. "Do not worry. Follow me."
He showed me to a large room with a couch and a fireplace. Several sconces were alight on the walls. Wait a minute. Am I in Bag End?
The boy sat me down on the soft couch and wrapped me in a silk blanket. "Let me go get you something warm to drink." He said in a kindly voice. I touched my forehead with the palm of my hand. It was cold and felt like a thousand pins and needles stinging me.
I covered the blanket across my shoulders and placed my achy feet on the couch. The boy came back with a mug full of warm tea and handed it to me. "Here you are." I took a large sip out of the tea. My body succumbed to the warmness of the sweet liquid.
"W-W-Who are you?" I asked. "My name is Frodo. What's yours?" "B...Br..Brianna." I paused for a moment and yawned. "That's a very beautiful name." I smiled weakly.
I noticed that Frodo pulled out a pillow from across the couch and he placed it beside me. The swelling in my legs got worse. "Ahh! My legs."
Frodo lifted the blanket from my body and examined my legs, which were red and bruised. "Oh my. We definitely cannot have you sleeping on this couch. Let me take you somewhere else where you can rest and I can have a closer look at your legs."
Frodo cradled me in his arms like a small child and took me to a small bedroom. In the middle of the room was a king sized bed laden with a red cotton blanket. On the right side of the room there was a nightstand with a candlestick on top and a round window that was open. On the left side of the room, there was a large bookshelf.
Frodo placed me on top of the comfy mattress and covered me up with the bed sheets. "Is that better?" I nodded. I curled up in the warm sheets. "You aren't from around here, are you?" Said Frodo. "Tell me, where do you come from?" "I'm from the planet Earth."
Frodo had a blank expression on his face. "Where is this Earth you speak of?" He asked. "That's a little difficult to explain. I honestly don't know. The universe, I guess."
Frodo placed the palm of his hand on the top of my forehead. "Hmm. You feel a little warm. Let me take your temperature." Frodo left the room to grab a thermometer and came back a few minutes later. He placed the thermometer underneath my tongue.
Frodo clicked his tongue. "You'll have to stay in bed for a couple of days, I'm afraid. Now, let me take a look at your legs." Frodo lifted up the sheets from underneath me. "Oh my goodness!" He exclaimed as he examined the blood covered bruises. "I should probably go and get a damp cloth and put some dressing on that leg of yours. I shall not be long."
After Frodo left the room, I stared out of the open window on the opposite side of me. There was a slight breeze coming through the room. I noticed that it was raining lightly outside and the light of the moon faded away. I could hear the sound of thunder booming in the distance. Frodo had come back into the room and stared out of the window. "Oh, dear. Looks like a storm is headed our way. What a pity." He said melancholy.
Frodo closed the window and sat down beside me, holding my right leg and started to rub it with a cloth. "You're awfully quiet." Frodo chuckled. "Sorry. It's just that I get a little shy around people." "That's quite alright, dear." I felt a stinging feeling in my leg. "Ow!" "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. There. I think that should do it. Let's get you to sleep."
I noticed that there was a red book on top of the nightstand beside me. "What's that?" I asked. "Oh, my Uncle Bilbo gave this to me. Would you like me to read this to you?" I thought that was really sweet of him. "You would do that? For me?" I felt a bit childish. "Of course." Frodo said with a huge grin on his face.
He moved in closer to me and opened up the book and began to read to me. As I snuggled in the soft sheets I was mesmerized by the sound of Frodo's enchanting voice.
There was one thing that I noticed that caught me off guard. It was his big blue eyes. I don't think I've ever seen eyes that blue before. They sparkled like sapphires. "Wow." I said to myself. Frodo stopped reading for a moment. "Hmm? What is it? Is something wrong, dear?"
I stuttered. I didn't know what to say. "It's just that....your eyes...they're so...." Frodo chuckled. "My eyes are what?" He asked. "They're so....pretty." Frodo let out a laugh. "Why, thank you. So are yours."
He leaned forward to give me a kiss on the cheek and stroked my hair back. "I think you should get some rest." He whispered in my ear. I shut my eyes and discovered that Frodo had laid down right beside me.
I felt a bit embarrassed. I had no idea that this was his bedroom. I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling. "What's the matter?" Asked Frodo, nudging me on the shoulder gently. "This feels awkward, Frodo." Frodo frowned. "It's alright. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Would you like me to sleep somewhere else?" "No, no. It's fine. It's fine."
Frodo scooted over beside me and wrapped his arm over my shoulder. "Get some sleep." He insisted. I decided to shut my eyes and I drifted off to sleep.
