A Bedtime Conversation
Later on, during the evening Frodo had found me a new pair of pyjamas to wear because my old ones were dirty and ripped and covered in dried up blood. He had lifted me gently off of the bed and took the old clothes off and helped me into the new ones. I found that they were very comfortable.
"Frodo, can I ask you a question?" I said as I made my way back into bed. "Of course, my dearest. You can ask me anything." Said Frodo, clutching onto my hands. "W...Well... I just want to say that....I don't think that I'll be able to go back home and everything and...." "You are homesick?" Asked Frodo. I nodded gingerly.
"I want to go back home. But, I can't. I'm stuck here." Frodo sighed. "I understand." He said in a comforting tone. "You know...I'm a bit homesick, too. I remember when I was younger, something terrible happened to my parents and I had to live with my grandparents for a while. Then, my Uncle Bilbo adopted me and I've lived here ever since." "Do you like living here?"
Frodo cleared his throat. "Yes. I do." "Where is your Uncle?" I asked. "I'm afraid that he isn't here anymore." "Did he pass on?" Frodo shook his head. "No, dear. He's living somewhere else now." "Do you mind being all alone." I asked.
"No, not really. Although, I do wish that Bilbo were here." I snuggled underneath the soft comforter and turned onto my side. I stared out of the bedroom window where I noticed that many stars were alight in the night sky.
"Do you mind me being here with you?" Asked Frodo. "I don't mind at all, Frodo." Frodo's big beautiful blue eyes were transfixed on me. He stared into my eyes with deep curiosity.
A huge grin fell upon his face." F..Fr...Frodo." I said drowsily. "I think it's time for both of us to get some rest, don't you think?" Murmured Frodo. I nodded in agreement. Frodo climbed into the bed and covered me with the sheets and whispered, "Goodnight and Sweet dreams."
