Jemma's POV
I ran to Summer. "Summer. Can you hear me?" I asked. Nothing. "We need to get her to the hospital." I said. Dan picked her up and went downstairs. I followed him. He handed her to me and I put her in the car and we left. "Dan can you speed up?" I asked. "Jem, I'm already going over the speed limit." Dan said. We reached the hospital. Dan picked Summer up and carried her inside. A nurse rushed over to us. "Her name's Summer. We just adopted her yesterday." Dan said. "Last name?" The nurse asked. I looked confused. "Your last name?" The nurse asked. "Middleton." Dan said. "Follow me." The nurse said. We followed her down the hall into a room. "How old is she?" The nurse asked. "Her file from the girls' home said she's eight." Dan said. "Summer used to see me when she was in the girls' home." The nurse explained. She asked us a few more questions and sent us out.
Dan's POV
I sat in the chair in the hospital. Jemma was next to me. I buried my face in my hands. "She'll be fine Dan." Jemma said. "I hope so." I said. After awhile, the doctor came out. "She's fine. She did hit her head so we're going to keep her for a few days for observation." He said. "Okay." I said. Jemma and I decided to leave and see her the next day.
*Time skip to the next morning*
Summer's POV
Ugh. My head. I sat up and looked around. I was still in my room at the hospital. A nurse came in. "Good to see you awake." She said. There was a small knock. I looked to see Dan standing there with Jemma. Dan walked into the room. "How are you doing?" He asked. "A bit better." I said. The nurse checked my levels. Soon the doctor came in. After a few things, he turned to Dan. "She's doing okay. There's no major damage to her brain. I think you can take her home today." He said. "Yes!" Dan shouted. "Dan. There are people sleeping." Jemma said. Dan looked up at me, embarrassed. "Sorry." He said. All the doctor did was laugh. He gave Dan and Jemma a few more instructions and then we left.
Three days later
Dan dropped me off at school. "Summer!" I heard someone yell. I turned. Emily was running to me. "Hey!" I called. Dan was still here. "I'm going to talk with the nurse and then I'll leave." He said. Emily came over. "I'm so glad you're back." She said. She noticed Dan. "You are so lucky. You have a YouTube star as a dad." She said. Dan came out and left. We were walking to class when I crashed into someone. "Sorry." I said. I helped the kid up. I noticed that it was a boy. "I'm Summer." I said. "I'm Tray." He said. "As in Trayaurus?" I asked. "You're a dantdm fan?" He asked. "He's actually my dad." I said. "That's cool." Tray said. "So. Are you new here?" I asked. "Yeah." He said. We headed into class. The whole time, I was thinking of Tray. With his cute smile. Whoa. Hold up! Could I possibly be falling for him?
