Jordan's POV
I was driving home from adopting Lexi. I looked back at her. That made her tense up. "Are you scared of me?" I asked. She shook her head. "You took your eyes off the road." She said. I turned back around. "Okay miss backseat driver." I said. "Sorry Jordan." She said. We got to my house. I opened the door and helped Lexi with her stuff. I unlocked the front door. I then took her upstairs to her room. Her eyes widened. She hugged me. "Thank you Jordan." She said. "Go unpack your stuff. I'll be downstairs recording ." I said. "Okay." Lexi said. I headed downstairs and began a video. At one point I was still recording when Lexi came downstairs. I had an idea. "Hey. Come in here." I said. Lexi stepped in the room. I motioned her to sit down next to me. She did. I turned to the camera. "Now. You guys are probably wondering who she is." I said, motioning to Lexi. "Meet Lexi. My daughter." I said. "Hi." Lexi said. "I just adopted her today. She's seven years old." I said. "I sure hope you guys are fine with me joining him in videos. If that's fine with him." Lexi said. "I'm cool with it." I said. "Yay!" Lexi said. "Anyways. This may turn out to be a little bit of a shock to you. I just decided to adopt overnight and didn't have the time to tell you. I'm not going to quit the youtube channel. I'll juggle parenting and youtube. That's why I adopted a child older than three." I said. "Uh Jordan. Your game." Lexi said. I looked at the screen and saw that I had died. "That's the end of this video. See you in the next one. Bye." I said. I ended the recording. After editing it, I uploaded it to youtube. I looked at the time. It was already after noon. "You hungry?" I asked. "Starving." Lexi said. I went into the kitchen and made some spaghetti. Lexi's face lit up. "Yummy!" She said. After she finished lunch, she went over to the sink. "You don't have to do the dishes. That's my job." I said. She set her plate and fork in the sink. "In the girls' home if you didn't clean up, you couldn't eat the for the next few days. Or if you're late." Lexi said. "Well things are going to different here. You put your dirty clothes by the washer. You leave your dishes in the sink or on the table. Breakfast will be served at whatever time I get up and if you miss breakfast, it'll be in the fridge and you can heat it up." I said. "Okay." Lexi said.
Lexi's POV
After Jordan explained everything, he and I decided to take a walk. After the walk, he went into the kitchen. He looked in the freezer and came out with half a gallon of cookie dough ice cream. "Want some?" He asked. "Sure." I said. He got down two bowls and got out an ice cream scoop. He put two large scoops of ice cream in a bowl and handed it to me. Then he made himself a bowl and put the ice cream away. After we finished eating our ice cream, Jordan did the dishes. "You'll be starting school tomorrow." He said. "Okay." I said.
That night I brushed my teeth and got in bed. I kept thinking about the school. Then I thought of the day I just had. Soon my eyes closed and I was asleep.
