chapter one
The stuff in italics is a flashback of how Lexi lost her parents. If you actually have lost a parent from a car accident, then skip the italics.
Lexi's POV
I was playing outside with my babysitter. My mommy and daddy were running errands. Soon the phone rang. My babysitter ran inside to answer the phone. A few minutes later, the police showed up. "Are you the daughter?" One officer asked me. I nodded. "Your parents were in a car accident." He said. They drove me to the hospital. When we got there, I saw them. As I told them I loved them, the machine that my mommy was hooked up to beeped. Doctors came in and tried to save her but it was too late. I heard another loud noise coming from daddy's machine. "It's too late. He's gone." I heard the doctor say. Tears filled my eyes and I broke down crying. Both mommy and daddy were dead. I'll never see them again. No one will play dolls with me or teach me how to ride a bike. Everything in my world was ruined. "Mommy. Daddy. Please wake up." I said. But I knew they didn't hear me. They were no longer here...
End of flashback
I woke up in my bed at the girls' home, trying not to cry. I was two years old and I watched my parents die. I quickly grabbed my phone and checked the time. It was 7:07 am. "Dang it. I was supposed to be downstairs seven minutes ago." I said. I ran downstairs. "You are late, you little brat!" A voice hissed at me. I tried to ignore the voice. "Answer me, brat." She said. I turned around. Miss Belle, the mean old owner was standing there. "You were supposed to be here at seven." She said. I rolled my eyes. I felt a pain on my cheek. "You hit me." I said. "Go to your room. You are not allowed to have any food for three days." She said. I ran upstairs.
After about three hours, I heard the adoption bell. I shut my laptop and put on my favorite outfit. Then I headed downstairs. A few people snickered at me. I rolled my eyes and looked to see who was here. When I did, I got a huge surprise. My eyes widened. "No freaking way!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. Everyone looked at me but I couldn't care less.
Standing in the room with his hands in the pockets of his jeans was none other than captainsparklez him-freaking-self.
