Reason for scale colour: He was "sunborn", meaning he hatched with the sun at its highest point and went outside a lot. Sunborn dragonets have the appearance of what looks like a suntan on humans. He radiates too much heat. You can touch him, but it's very painful. His tail barb is green because the sun brings light to living things (aka plants). So sunborn dragonets have green tail barbs.

Reason for Eye Colour: His eyes are that color because he radiates too much light, and sunborn dragonets need a balance. So their eyes are the dark blue of the almost-night sky.
