I've been returning to the registration room any chance I had. I've been here about three or four times this past week, begging to change Eren's room. After being denied the simple request, I just grew more curious to why he was even accepted.
I've never seen Eren participate at school a day of my life. He never carried around textbooks, or stopped by his locker, or even ask the teacher for help. I did, I worked my ass off all through high school to get into college, and even now that I'm at Sina I continue to work hard. Eren can't just walk in and expect to become an expert in the medical field just because his dad has the money to enroll him.
Grisha is one if the best surgeons in the country. He's inspired to be become a surgeon after saving my mom from death after a server heart attack a few years ago. I give him that much credit, but his parenting skills are shit. He makes more money than he can send, so he spoils Eren like a puppy.
He acts like a little bitch so I don't see much of an argument.
I'm turned down for the fifth time this week. I mentally groan before turning on my heals to leave the building once more. I march out and down the steps in a childish way with a frown on my face and a wrinkle between my brows.
I need a plan. Just some sort of way to get into the file room. Actually, maybe I'm just overreacting. I don't need to know why.
But I want to. Of God, I really want to. I just need to be right, I have to. Eren's already beaten me at everything else, can I just have one thing against him where I know I'm right? Where I can actually feel better about myself?
All I ask is for one solid piece of evidence that I'm better than him, that all my heard work is worth the effort because I'm actually beating him at something.
I must have been too deep into thought because I've managed to ram into another person. I'm tossed back a few steps, shaming my head in shock from the sudden impact.
I'm about to apologize, since I was the one not paying attention, but then I realize that it's just Hanji. Her hair was messily tied into a bun, her glasses halfway down the bridge of her nose. Her nose was stuck in a textbook, a pen in her hair, and a notepad beneath the textbook. Her eyes were drooped, her under eyes darker than my black T-shirt.
She looked awful.
"Hey, what's up with you? You look like a walking corpse."
I manage to sound rude, but I was actually very concerned. She looks like a zombie with glasses larger than Eren's ego. I get working in the textbook room, studying, and our first exams were beginning to take their toll on her.
"Wha-?" She says dazed before snapping into reality. She quickly shakes hr head before stuttering her next words. "Yeah! I-I'm fine! Why wouldn't I be?"
I tilt my head, looking at her from a different angle with an are-you-sure-about-that? kind of look. She scratches her cheek and gives me the most fake smile anyone can give.
"Hanji, you look like you just came out of an insane asylum. Have you gotten any sleep?" I ask.
"No- I mean yes! I'm fine, really!" she lies.
I sigh and shake me my head slowly. Poor Hanji.
"If you're going to be a psychiatrist you have to be able to manage your schedule. Seriously Hanji, you can't walk around like you haven't slept in two days," I complain.
"I haven't..."
"You need to take better care of yourself or you'll end up having a high blood pressure from all this stress," I tell her. Look at me, already acting like some sort if professional.
"Yeah yeah, don't lecture me, Levi. I can handle it," she says flatly. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose before asking me about the whole dorm room fiasco.
"They said they couldn't change his room, and when I asked why they denied it. It's whatever really, I'll just have to deal with it," I tell her, shrugging my shoulders in the process.
"And about the reason why Eren was accepted to Sina?"
"I can't get my hands on those files, the woman made that clear."
"I can get you those files," she says nonchalantly.
"No you can't, the woman said-"
"I also assist registration hall, and I can access student files but under supervision. I have a key and everything," she explains.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" I exclaim.
"You never asked," she replies with a shrug.
You have got to be kidding me.

"Hanji, are you sure this is going to work?" I ask as we approach the registration hall hours later.
"Positive, I've done this before," she says confidently.
"Really?"
She snorts, "no."
I roll eyes at her response before making a complete stop just feet away from the entrance. Hanji gives me a stern nod before explaining her plan a third time.
"So I'll go in, make a bunch of awesome ninja moves, steal Eren's file, and sneak out through the vents," she jokes. Her tone was serious, but I know very well that she was joking.
"Hanji, be serious."
"Okay, okay, Mr. Grouchy Pants," she says defensively. "I'll be back soon, just chill out at the side of the building."
I give her a quick nod before disappearing into the darkness of the building's shadow.
The sky was already fading into a deep blue color, a cool breeze picking up. With autumn slowly turning into winter, the days felt shorter and the nights longer.
I heave a sigh, already beginning to think about home. I missed my mom's cooking, I can't stand eating take out and ramen much longer. I'm actually looking forward for Thanksgiving, mom always makes the best dinner. Even though she invites the Yeager's every year, her hilarious cooking commentary and legendary stuffing made up for the extra dishes to wash.
I receive a text from Hanji. I immediately swipe across my screen to open her message.
Hanji: It's Eren Yeager, right?
Levi: Yeah, that's right.
I know Hanji is taking a big risk right now, I don't think I can ever return the favor. She says it's fine, but know that it isn't right to just use someone like that. You can't just have something without giving in return.
Minutes pass and Hanji finally exits the building. My heart was about to fall out of my chest, I was so worried for her. I would never forgive myself if she was caught.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I repeat over and over again the same line while slightly jumping in excitement and relief.
Hanji hands me a rather heavy file, a smile visible on her face. Before I can even grasp the time, Hanji raises it high above her head.
Seriously? That's the worst thing you can do to someone that's barley over five feet tall.
"Hanji, please don't tease me like this!" I whine, reaching for the file.
"Are you sure you want to see this? I'm not gonna lie, I had a peak and it's not pretty," she warns.
Now I really want to see what's inside.
"Yes Hanji, I'm sure."
She friend slightly before officially handing me the file. I take it carefully, but in a rush, afraid that she'd raise it over her head again.
We walk to a bench that had a table (there are many of them across campus). I'm eager to see what's inside, and Hanji doesn't stop me a second time. She just sits back and watches.
Everything is in here. Copies of his birth certificate, license, medical records, his SSN, everything. He has his grades from first grade until the end if by high school, his ACT and SAT scores, as well as any other state tests. Everything he's ever done, and what he will do is in my hands.
Hanji watches my expression change once I realize why she was warning me. She leans forward and folds her hands together. My grin falls and my eyebrows pinch.
"You see, I checked your files too. He scored just as high as you did on both tests. He's gotten excellent grades from the third grade on, his reading level is just as high as yours, his-"
"Shut up!"
This can't be real. There is no way that Eren is this smart. He cheated, he must have. I've never seen Jim crack a book, go to the library, or even stay for tutoring. He's never worked hard, I've seen it. He's never worked for anything, there's more way he can have these scores. With this kind of knowledge, he could've gone to any other school in the country.
So why here? Why go to Sina? Why be put in the same dorm room as I? Why?
"That's not all," Hanji says as she rakes out a folded piece if paper from her pocket. "I asked for your schedules to be printed. Look," she says, unfolds the papers and lays them flat. She sets them side by side and I take a close look at them, not believing what I see.
"There's no way..." I manage to say, but I can't continue my sentence.
"He has the exact same courses, the same teachers, the same textbooks, just not the same hours. When you're out, he's in."
That's it. I'm done.
I take all of the papers and stuff them back into the manilla folder. I crawl out of the bench and say a quick goodbye and a thank you before marching straight to my room.
I need to know why. I have to know why this brat is taking all the same classes as I am. I need to know why he scored so high. I need to know.
I hoped that seeing his file would make me feel better about myself, that I could actually bring him down, but no. I'm the one that's being brought down. I'm the one that looks like a fool.
It's like someone clicked copy, and pasted my life into his.

I'm about to storm into the room when I hear a voice of a woman. Here we go again. Eren's probably with another slut right now. That boy doesn't know how to stop.
"Eren!" I say, barging into the room.
A dark-haired girl screams in fright as she covers her bare breasts with the bedsheets. They aren't completely naked yet, thank God.
"Woah, there's this thing called knocking. You should try it sometime," Eren breathes. He tries to catch his breath which is all over the place.
The dark haired girl looks at me with large eyes, and I do the same. You have got to be kidding me.
"Mikasa? What the actual fuck? You're underaged!".
"What?" Eren yells, falling out if bed. "I didn't know! She said she was eighteen!" He exclaims. "Wait... You know her?"
I march inside and toss the time onto my bed. I take her shirt and bra and toss it at her.
"Of course I do! She's my cousin, and she's underaged!"
"I'm going to be eighteen in February!" She argues, gripping her clothes.
"You're still underaged!" I holler back, taking her by the arm and forcing her into the bathroom. "Now get dressed! I'm calling Kenny to pick you up!"
Eren is in shock, his eyes wide as he manages to sit himself on the bed. He shakes his head. "I- I didn't know she was your cousin," he stutters.
"Doesn't the name Ackerman say anything?" He argue while texting Kenny, Mikasa's guardian, to pick her up.
"A lot of people have the same last name," he retorts.
"Oh shut up, you should be glad I don't call the cops on your horny ass."
When Mikasa exits the bathroom she gives us a blank stare of embarrassment. She collects her things before I send her off.
"I told Kenny you were stopping by for a visit. He doesn't know about your little mishap with horny-boy over there, okay?" I tell her, hoping the news would calm her. She may be an idiot, but she was family. I can't always be as ass.
"Thank you, Levi. This will never happen again," she reassures me before running off.
I turn my attention to Eren who still sits half naked on his bed. I shut the door and make my way to the files that rest on my bed.
"Now that that situation is taken care of, can you out a shirt on? You look like a naked rat," I complain.
Eren huffs and yanks his shirt off the floor. He forcefully puts it on and buries himself under his blankets. I send him a glower and tell him to stop being childish.
"Jeez, when did you start acting like my mother," he complains.
I ignore his comment and toss the file onto his lap. "I don't care what you try to give me excuses on, but I have the facts right there. You have been copying my life since the third grade, getting high text scores and even taking the exact same courses as me now," I pause for a moment while he looks through his own file. "I don't get it. Is it some kind of game? Did you cheat? I don't understand why the hell you're majoring in medicine and your 'dream' is to become a surgeon just like me.
I've never seen you work for anything a day of your life. You never turned in a test, never opened a book, and never went in for tutoring, so why are you considered smart? Why are you attending Sina? Why are you copying my life?"
He sulks his head low, his eyes hidden from my sight.
"It's personal..." he mumbles.
"Excuse me?" I say rudely, not understanding his words.
"I said it's personal! Okay? Now leave me the hell alone! You know the truth now! You figured me out! Just leave me alone, okay? Let me do what I have to do."
"You just don't know when to quit, do you? Stop avoiding my question! Stop avoiding me and tell me why the hell you're trying to live me life!"
Eren looks up at me. His eyes are puffy, red, and broken. He throws his file at me, making me take a step back. His jaw is clenched, tears starting to stream from his watery eyes.
"I said leave me alone."

Author's Note:
Woot woot, emotional chapter!
Just ignore the Eremika that happens *__* it's just part of the story, okay?
I'm like trying so hard to have this story come out good, I even planned out the first 10 chapters. With my stupid phone making all these typos I can't catch right away, it seems impossible to have anything sound smooth. Please forgive my errors.
Thank you for reading~
