My Cousin Wants A Necklace
Adele Black: The Sequel
My Cousin Wants a Necklace
I held onto my Camp necklace with all of my strength; we were currently in Diagon Alley, and vendors were selling amulets of all kinds. I was nervous, I will admit that. In fact, I was shaken up, to say at the least.
You see, last night I had one of my worst nightmares yet. It was a flashback. I was back in the maze.
It was the flesh-eating horses last night. I normally would have found that funny, just because there wasn't supposed to be any flesh-eating horses in the world. However, this is Greek Mythology that I am talking about right now.
Anyway, I would have found it funny if I wasn't the one who was there.
It went like this.
"Percy," I stated, nervous. "They're coming towards me!"
"Stop!" Percy called out, obviously talking to the horses.
He made a face of disgust; the flesh-eating horses must have said something with a lot of profanity.
The horses ignored the son of the sea God. My anxiety level went over the bar.
A mad look glistened in the horse's eye as it came towards me. Coming dangerously close to me, it was able to get my leg if it came any closer.
I heard the sound of a tongue licking its chaps; something felt weird on my left leg.
Before I screamed, I was in utter shock. Pain raced through my body- and then I let out a blood curdling scream. Tears raced down my cheeks. I gathered up the courage to look down at my leg.
The details within itself were to disturbing to imagine, but part of the skin on my left shin was... I'll let you figure it out for yourselves.
I cried and cried in pain; I hiccuped, screaming loudly in between each short-termed breath. I felt like I was dying; my breathing was limited, and I was seeing black stars. Everything was going dark, and I couldn't hear anything that Percy was saying.
"Adele! Annabeth, come here quick!"
"What?" I slurred.
I then blacked out.
When I had woken up, I was on a couch.
Couch?
I looked down; my leg was bandaged up, and blood could be seen. It stained the white bandage with red clots.
That was when I woke up, on a make-shift bed at the Burrow, screaming my head off.
I came to halt in front of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Before I took in the detail of the architecture, I rolled up my jeans on my left leg all the way up to the knee.
On my shin, there was a huge patch of skin that was deeper than the rest; scars filled the surrounding area. It was not very attractive at all, and that was why I tried to not wear shorts whenever I could. I felt a sudden and sharp dose of pain race through my leg; I made myself slump down and sit against the shop wall across from the twin's store.
"Adele?" the voice of Mr. Weasley called out, concerned.
"I'm fine," I breathed. "I'm fine."
He gave me a look that stated when-we-get-back-home-you-will-be-sitting-down.
I got up after I rolled my jean back down.
I opened up the door to the shop, and was suddenly greeted with a bunch of bright colors all over the place. There was shelves upon shelves filled with their products; so many people, ranging from five to seventy, lined up around the store. Children were begging their parents to let them buy something.
"Hello, Dad," the familiar voice of George stated.
Mr. Weasley nodded and walked off towards where Tonks was.
"Adele," George smiled down at me. He grabbed my hand and dragged me to the back room.
"George," I smiled up at him, forgetting about my nightmare.
I went up on my tippy toes and kissed him on the lips; he kissed me back, leaning downwards a bit.
"Why are you so tall?" I asked him in a playful manner.
"Why are you so short?" he asked in an equally playful way.
"Genetics, my dear," I told him, grinning.
He rolled his eyes and sat down on a couch. I followed him and sat down on his lap.
"The shop looks good," I complimented him.
"Thank you, love. What have you been up to lately?"
I became silent.
"Camp stuff. Nightmares. Ever since my Dad..."
I did not need to finish up my statement; everybody in the Wizard World was now well aware of my father, Sirius Black, being innocent after all of this time. They were also now well aware of his death in the Department of Mysteries about one and a half months ago. The last of my family with my direct DNA was extinct.
Well, I had the Malfoys and the Tonks and Bellatrix, but their DNA isn't direct towards me.
After all, my mother, Athena, is not able to have DNA. That is why I am half human.
"Do you want to talk about it?" George asked, suddenly all serious.
I thought for a minute before shaking my head.
"Not now. I need to get over the shock of him dying. I have accepted it, but I don't want to believe it... not just yet. And what happened in my nightmare... what I experienced... it would make you throw up everything that you had for breakfast."
George nodded, understanding me.
We cuddled in silence for a little bit. I then kissed him abruptly.
He kissed me back; it soon became deep and passionate. Sparks flew through my veins; I was being electrocuted.
We had to break apart for air.
"I should probably go, we're going back to the Burrow soon."
George nodded, "I'll visit tonight with Fred. We can continue the kiss then."
"What is he doing?" I found myself asking Harry.
Currently, Hermione, Harry, Ron and I were stalking my cousin, Draco Malfoy.
"I don't know," Harry whispered back.
My cousin soon walked out of the shop that sold dark objects with his mother, who was my cousin as well. They walked down Knockturn Alley.
I saw my cousin Narcissa turn her head for a minute; her stormy grey eyes met my very own stormy grey eyes. For a few seconds that felt like forever, we kept our eyes on each other.
Her eyes held a look that stated I-will-not-tell-that-you-are-watching.
For some reason, I felt that I could trust her. I'm not very certain as to why, but I knew that I could trust her.
Cissy then turned around and kept on walking.
"We need to go down there," Hermione stated.
We nodded. The four of us went down to the shop.
"Wait- Ron, we can't go in there," Harry stated.
"Hermione, you very well can't either," Ron stated. "They wouldn't recognize your last name if you were asked."
Hermione, Ron and Harry looked at me with hopeful eyes.
"You're a Black," Hermione stated.
"Fine," I grumbled, making my way into the shop.
I made my way up to the front counter.
"How much is this necklace?" I asked.
"Half a thousand galleons, but I doubt that you would be able to afford it," said the crook with a wicked smile. He was missing some teeth. Gross.
"That would be incorrect, considering that I am a member of the Most Noble and Ancient House of Black," I stated, using my family to my advantage.
"Oh, my mistake. However, this necklace is on hold for somebody," the dark man stated, his eyes showing anxiety. He probably thought that if I took anything that he said the wrong way, I would pulverize him. Please. This sorry excuse for a man is not worth any of my time.
"Who is it on hold for? I might know them. Maybe I am related to them?"
"It's on hold for the Malfoy's."
"Shame, it's very pretty. Well, I best be going then, since the sale is unable to be performed. Good-bye."
I exited the shop and together, Hermione, Ron, Harry and I traveled out of Knockturn Alley.
"It's on hold for the Malfoy's," I abruptly stated.
