A Late Valentine's Day Special

Adele Black: The End

A Valentine's Day Special

I remember that every Valentine's Day at Camp Halfblood, the day was always a mess.

The Aphrodite kids would set up this booth: "Your Future Love!"

They would know the answers because apparently, their mother had a file on every single demigod at this camp. Well, a love life file. This was the only day of the year her children were aloud to see it.

Annabeth and I told everybody we had no interests in any of that nonsense. It looked that way to people.

But if you were given a chance to be told about your love life in the future, I am pretty certain that you'd take the risk and pay one drachma to discover information.

Annabeth and I were in line, each of us holding a single drachma. Everything was so simple that year; I wished that I could be ten forever then.

"You ready?" I asked my best friend (and sister), a bit anxious.

"Yeah," she replied excitedly. I took a deep breath. I was ready.

"Adele Black," I told the Aphrodite girl, who had chestnut curls and a pimple free face. She looked like a supermodel. I was about envious.

The girl, who I recognized as Ashley, pulled out a file. It as a simple Manila folder, and her pink nails stood out against the dull color of the folder.

"Adele, you are the daughter of Athena and Sirius Black, right?" She asked me for confirmation.

I nodded in reply.

"Okay! So your love life, you will meet a guy with red hair, and you will be in another country."

"And?" I asked her, wanting to know more.

"Come back next year," Ashley told me.

I groaned and got up. Annabeth and I met each other over at arts and crafts.

"So what did Ashely tell you?" Annabeth asked me, curious.

"What did Audrey tell you?" I asked her, equally as curious.

"I asked first," Annabeth sassed me.

"Fine," I rolled my eyes.

I told her exactly what Ashley told me. I also told her that I felt that I should have gotten more information because I gave a drachma to her.

Annabeth nodded in agreement.

"Audrey told me that the guy will have black hair and sea green eyes. That's all," she told me.

I grinned and she grinned back.

"I heard that next year, the Aphrodite cabin will be under orders from Aphrodite herself to give out make-overs," Annabeth told me, a bit annoyed.

"Oh, great," I sarcastically remarked.
