I stepped out of the mall and get in my car revving the engine to life. Driving on this street reminds me of how as a kid I've always dreamed to drive and my father would say “wait a little,I promise you'll get tired of it”. I didn't used to believe him back then but now I understand what he mean by that. I drove along the street which is eerily quiet. My mind was so occupied with unnecessary thoughts that I didn't even noticed a figure jumped on the road and before I could do something,the figure was already lying in front of me. My heart started racing faster than ever. I stepped out of the car and walked towards the person I just hit. When I get closer,I realized it is a woman lying face down. I muttered enough courage and turned her to face me and the gasps that escaped my lips scared me further. I was already sweating seeing the person in front of me. Is this some kind of dream.

I carried her in my arms and headed to the car as this is not the time to think. I put her at the back seat of the car and get in the driver's seat dialing my doctor's hospital number and asked him to meet me at the house. I started the car and drove my way to the house. Once in, I laid her on the bed pacing  back and forth waiting for the arrival of the doctor. What could have happened.

The door bell ringing brought me out of my thoughts. I quickly ran and opened it only to see the doctor. I led him to the room I put her and he was shocked to see how badly she look. I explained everything to him and he could only nod. He examined her while I stand waiting for him to say something.

“ Keep aside the fact that you knocked her down. This woman here could die without you been the reason. I mean take a good look at her. She's severely abused. This looks like an escape. She escaped from whoever did this. Now I'll tell you what you will do, do not try finding her family or telling anyone about this since you don't know her. I believe she's in danger. So can we please keep her here?”. He asked looking at me. Of course we could. It's not like I'll let her go with him or something because I believe no one knows her here like I do. I'm well aware of the dangers she might be in if I tell people. Maybe I should just tell him. “ Sure Doctor, But will she be fine?”. I asked nervously fiddling with my hair.

“ Yes she'll be fine but now she's unconscious,so we'll have to wait till she wake up. I'll take my leave now”. He said heading for the door.

“ Sure. I need to tell you something but can we talk outside ”. I said deciding to save myself for what will happen after if I didn't tell him now.

“ Okay, shall we?”. He said leading the way out.

“ Yeah. We shall”.  I said trailing behind him.
