It was the first day of classes for the new school year. Addie knew she'd have to work hard so that she can complete all her assignments and do her exams before the end of March. First class was 'Care of Magical Creatures' today they learned about the school Thestrals. They had to do an essay on the differences between wild Thestrals and captive ones for homework. In Herbology Addie learned about 'Devil Snare'. Addie got 10 points for Gryffindor by answering how to correctly to escape 'devil snare', without using magic.

After lunch she was on her way to her first Potions class of the year. She wondered if Professor Slughorn would be as strict as Snape was. When she entered the class, she saw the others hadn't arrived yet. So she took her usual table in the middle of the classroom.

As Professor Slughorn entered the room from his supplies closet. When he saw Addie, he asked who she was. "I'm Adeline Granger, it's a pleasure to meet you Professor Slughorn" Addie answered holding out her hand.

Slughorn shaked her hand and said "you're that sixth year student that bumped up a year level. I meet your sister Hermione this morning during her lesson." He then went about setting up the class for the lesson. Once he had finished the rest of the class entered and Eric sat next to Addie.

Slughorn went to the front of the class and took the role. Once he was done he put a recipe on the board and told them to make it with the person beside them. Addie went to get the ingredients, whilst Eric set up his cauldron and lit the burner underneath it. When Addie returned they worked quietly as they focused on making the potion.

It was a potion that would increase the drinkers strength ten fold. Professor Slughorn watched the pair closely when he wasn't helping other students. At the end of the class, Addie delivered a vial of her and Eric's potion for marking. Eric was cleaning up their desk and putting stuff away.

Slughorn asked Addie if she would have tea with him and some other students after dinner. She politely refused saying she had a lot of homework and studying to do. The Professor nodded in understanding remembering she had to complete all her work by the end of March. However, when he watched her leave his class. He felt disappointed that he couldn't have both the muggle born witches in his club.

Addie went to Charms before going to the library to do all of her homework. If she kept this pace up, she should be ready for her exams in March. But she'd soon be getting more work then her fellow class mates. If only she still had her time turner. At least she won't be Madame Hooch's assistant anymore. With Dumbledore around, she didn't have to look after Harry. Also she did not have to help the twins with their prank products. All she has to worry about is school work and her head girl duties.
