Chapter 7
Jerome's Point of View
"Oh, I'm sorry-"
There, sitting on the floor was probably about the last person I wanted to see. I froze mid-sentence; not really sure how to continue or what to say overall. Of course, I was still mad at her, but that had died down a lot since I saw her in the forest.
But the look in her eyes was unreadable. Her gaze, which was in a bit of pain from falling down just a second ago, was now completely blank. As if she'd just blocked everything from me right now.
It made me curious as to what she was thinking, but she revealed nothing. In fact, she just stood up and ran in the opposite direction.
"Wait!" I called after her, letting go of the door and started chasing after her. My curiosity was what made me chase her; I also had a few things to say to her.
"Hey, where'd you go?" I shouted through the empty hallways that intersected each other into a cross path. My voice echoed through the halls, most likely alerting a few recruits but I highly doubt they'd honestly get up to check what it was.
I looked down every hall but stood in my spot. I couldn't find the girl anywhere, just like in the forest; which was quite annoying if I do say so myself. She was definitely stealthy, as well as fast, I can give her that.
Sighing out of irritation, I gave up on looking for her. I could easily find her tomorrow anyway. For now, I should probably just go to bed.
Aiden's Point of View
I heard his soft footsteps walk away from the area, and pretty soon, he was gone and out of sight.
I breathed a gasp of relief. Above him was a beautiful chandelier, which was where I had hung from. Thankfully, he hadn't looked up, although it was kind of a let-down. I thought he be smarter than to just look side to side.
Then again, I don't want to be found. That stupid teme-no-baka called me un-intellegent. Okay, so I slack off in school, but c'mon, I'm not a noob at my favorite game!
Slowly but surely, I parkoured my way down from the chandelier without making a noise, or breaking my legs. After looking around to make sure the area was clear of the furry guy, I made my way back to my room, using the shortest path.
Pretty soon, I found myself back into the familiar room. Behind me, the door swished closed and I jumped into bed, falling sound asleep without even needing to get under the covers.
Weirdly enough though, I felt as if someone or something had been watching me right before I fell asleep.
The next day...
Olivia's Point of View
The next morning was not one I was prepared for, nor really welcoming.
"What are you guys doing here at 11 in the morning?" I managed to fit in between yawns. I was not quite the 'wake-up call' person if you couldn't tell, not to mention I was still in my sleeping gown.
The group of my brother's best men, and best friends, stood in front of me. The leader at the moment was Ssundee, also known as Ian. Behind him were others that I was also familiar with; that which included HuskyMudkipz, or Quentin, Jerome, and MinecraftUniverse, or Jason.
"Well, I mean, it is almost noon and we thought you wouldn't be sleeping still." the mudkip answered nervously, knowing that she had a pretty short fuse when she's woken up, or really, whenever she's in a bad mood, which was obvious she was in right now.
"Eh, we could talk to you later if you want. You do look like you need a bit of sleep-" Jason started, but was cut off by a now-angry Olivia.
"What do you mean, I need sleep?!" I screamed in Jason's face, pinning him to the wall.
"Wha-what?" He stuttered, his eyes as big as saucers. "I didn't say that you need sleep, I-I said, uh, you're really cool and it'd be awesome if you dropped the spaceguy you're pinning to the wall right now..."
We all stood there for what seemed like the longest moment of everyone's life.
"Hm...Thanks." I said, taking his compliment and dropped him. I heard him sigh a breath of relief but didn't really take notice. I was awake now, due to my large flood of anger just now.
"So, what is it you guys came here for?" I asked, gesturing them to come into another room nearby, which happened to be where I held meetings with generals, etc. Pretty soon, everyone had chosen a seat and Ian was the first to speak.
He looked really different compared to when I last saw him. He didn't have the opaque sunglasses like he does now. Nor did he really wear a suit like he is now. Although the suit was casual, it wasn't as she remembered it.
But putting attire aside, he actually carried some important information with him, but none that I didn't really expect.
"Adam said you found someone. He didn't exactly specify who they were. We're pretty much here on a whim that you've found a really important person that Adam wants to meet for some reason unknown to us."
"Okay, so I'm guessing it's my job to fill you guys in?" I said in response to the small load of information just fed to me. Of course I knew he wanted to meet her, but must he really be so hasty?
"I'll admit I have found an important person-"
"Is it another lost administrator that needs protection of some kind?" Jason asks lazily.
"Is it someone who's just paying a lot for protection to the mainland?" Quentin sighed out.
"Is it a ruler of another kingdom asking for help from us?" Ian rolled his eyes.
"Is it another youtuber that can't protect themselves and needs us so they can travel?" Jerome growls softly.
Overall, the excitement they had just a second ago had all but dissapeared.
"Guys, if you'd let me explain, you'd know by now!" I shouted at them and I could see them immediately clean up their saggy attitudes. Although it was better than just a bit ago, I could tell they were just waiting to get out of the room so they could complain once again.
After grabbing their attention again, I continued the long-awaited explanation. "This person is none of the above. In fact, the person is rather a child that serves a big purpose-"
"We have to protect another brat?" The four exclaimed.
"Would you all shut up for a while!?" I shouted angrily, and the next minute was just pure silence. I huffed a quiet sigh before continuing on.
"The child plays the missing part in the prophecy." I said, finally getting the word out. I could tell that a few of them wanted to protest but held it to themselves.
"Adam wants to meet her because of that-"
"Then can we leave today?" I heard Ian ask. I knew he would suggest that, but I can't answer it the way he wants.
"No."
"But if they're that important, isn't it best to have all three of you together to fufill it?" He striked back. "If they have to do with the prophecy, isn't the best choice to have them immediately transfered to Adam's kingdom?"
"Are you saying my kingdom isn't just as protective and guarded as my brother's?" I questioned with a rather harsh tone. He was practically indirectly insulting my kingdom by saying that, so how could I not jump to protection?
"No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying that it'd be wise to send the child to Adam-" He spoke in return, both of us obviously trying to keep our cool.
"Yes, I know, but she can't leave yet."
"She?" The four all exclaimed together in utter shock.
"Yes, she is a girl, and a child at that!" I spat back at all of them. "Just because she's a girl, doesn't mean she's weaker than any of you!"
Everyone was silent after that. Literally, no one spoke a word.
I walked towards the door, clearly saying that this conversation was over.
"Wait, Olivia!" I heard Ian shout at me and my hand froze on the handle. I stood there, not saying anything, but just waiting for what Ian had to say.
"If she's that important, you know we'd protect her with our lives-"
"Yes, I know that! But that's not the reason I'm not letting her go! I'm giving her training here, and I won't let her leave without it and that's final!" I shouted at them before opening the door and slamming it behind me. Something wet dripped down my face, and all the memories came flooding back.
No! I shouted at myself!. They were still to painful to deal with now. I don't want to remember...
Aiden's Point of View
In the distance, I hear a faint knock. But, at the moment, I don't really care. Last night, well, really, yesterday overall was a pain. There was so much that happened yesterday and I honestly didn't feel like dealing with it.
I just wanted to sleep in.
Thump, thump, thump. I heard again. Slowly, I opened my eyes to find myself in a trashed room.
"What?" I mutter softly to myself as my wandering eyes survey the room. There were little to no things broken, but nonetheless still a large mess.
The clothes given to me by Olivia herself were strewn across the room, everywhere. The stuffings of the once-soft pillows were spilled, looking as if the pillows bled white stuffing to death. Bits and pieces of the thin, yet so silky, beautiful blanket were ripped and shredded and lying everywhere. The body mirror, which came with the room, had been cracked and pieces missing, and the bed posts of the bed looked as if they'd been mauled by several cats.
"Did I do all this?" I asked myself as I racked my brain, trying to remember what happened last night. But before I could do so, the thing that woke me up in the first place sounded again.
Thump, thump, thump.
I look to the door, suddenly realizing that someone had been knocking on it. I got out of the bed, or really, what was left of the bed and answered the awaiting person.
Mitch stood there in the doorway, his usually slightly disheveled hair perfectly shaped and wearing his signature checkered polo. "Hey," He greeted, automatically letting himself in.
I watched him enter my broken room, "Uh, hey..." I quietly closed the door behind him. He made no response to continue the conversation. Instead, he inspected the room, very quietly, only making it all the more akward.
"So, uh...Do ya need something?" I asked him, nervously walking back to my remnants of my bed to sit down. Mitch did the same, but made sure to stay a good distance away. I don't know why but he's been acting really weirdly lately. I can tell something's up because he's still acting the same way.
The way he dressed made it seem like he forcefully made his clothes bend and curve in the right area in the right way. He even wiped a bit of the pillow stuffing off his clothes as if it messed his whole outfit altogether.
Weirdly observant of me, but it was so obvious I couldn't help but notice.
I also couldn't help but notice and remember that when I first met him, he had his arrows. Even when he brought me back to camp with Jerome, he still wore his arrow pack. But now, he didn't.
I may not know Mitch very well, but I know him enough to realize that this isn't really the Mitch I know. In fact, it's an imposter. I don't know how I missed it before but he had this weird, ominous kind of aura around him, unlike the real Mitch who was friendly and forgiving no matter the circumstances.
"You're not the real Mitch, are you?" I accidentally blurted out. My eyes bloated out, and both my hands shot to cover my mouth. Why did I have to say that?
He chuckled evilly, in a totally different tone of voice, which was much lower than before. Dark and chilling to the bone; just the sound of it in my ears made goosebumps crawl across my skin. This was definitely not Mitch, I was definitely sure of that now.
"So you've figured it out," He, or really, it smiled sadistically at me. It abruptly stands up, and so do I. One step after another, it takes towards me, and each time I step back out of impulse. My eyes are swishing around for a way to get to the door without this thing being able to grab me, but as it came closer and closer, my choices become more and more limited.
Pretty soon, it has me against the wall.
"There's only one last thing to do, then," It whispers softly into my ear before it roughly throws me over its shoulder. Acting upon sheer panic, I grabbed the broken bed post and start wacking him with it, to obviously no avail.
"Help me!" I scream at the top of my lungs and not even a second later, footsteps are rushing down the halls to the source of my scream. I wiggle and squirm in its harsh, iron grip and manage to buy a tiny bit of time as it tries to get a good grip on me so I can't move.
I scream once more and the door busts open, reavealing the oh-so-awesome members of team crafted, who sadly happened to arrive a little too late. The bed post slips from my hand at the moment I saw them. I also happened to stop squirming, and now I'm stuck in its thick, strong hold.
All their faces were stricken, the most being Jerome as it turned around to face them all. "You're all just a tad bit too late," and flashes another sadistical grin.
And with that, it jumped out the window.
The wind was knocked out of me, actually almost making me pass out, when we hit the ground. I heard a large crackle, and the thing's skin had changed permenantely. The polo it was once wearing had disintegrated and it turned into a Steve look-alike t-shirt. The exception was the fact that it was all black. It had no detail about it except for white eyes and a purple-ish like aura, like that of an enderman's.
I scared and striken faces of Olivia and the members of team crafted were the last things I remembered before I blacked out.
