“Eva, it's your turn please.” The tour guide repeated for the third time rather patiently.
Eva trailed her eyes across the zipline, and uncertainty thrummed through her stomach. Suddenly, she felt an overpowering body heat from behind, and Adam was speaking into her ear.
“What, Sweetheart? We've not even gotten to the highest peak and you are cowering already.”
Spinning around, Eva threw him a glare, knowing very well he was trying to provoke her. “How many people have died from ziplining?”
The guide, looking startled from the question seemed to scramble for words, but it was Adam who answered her question. “Well, I can't know the exact number, but quite a bit. Usually from snapping of the belt or the clip pulley.”
“Adam!” The tour guide said with a chastising look, focusing her gaze on Eva. “Eva, this place is as safe as safe can get. Trust me on that. Besides, this is the lowest of the ziplines.”
“You know what, I'll just go first.” Adam said, sidestepping her. “Meet me there.”
And before Eva could protest he was standing in front, waiting for his harness to be strapped onto the rope. The tour guide threw Eva a look, shrugged and then clipped Adam in.
The man didn't waste anytime, and he was soon off the ground, zipping down the inclined rope without a care in the world.
The excitement she sensed about him prompted her to try, to not let her fears keep her from doing what every instinct pounding through her flesh was urging her to.
The tour guide turned to her, but Eva was stepping forward before she could speak. “I'm ready, Janet.”
“Well, it was about time.” A warm smile touched the good-natured tour guide's lips.
Within thirty seconds, Eva was soon clipped on to the rope, and before she could lose the nerve, she threw herself down the zipline. She screamed, expecting the belt to snap at any moment as she held on to it, blood rushing through her ears.
Realizing her fear was not forthcoming, she finally allowed herself to let go of the belt. Air rushing past her, she felt like she was levitating, her heart pounding excitedly with the rush.
By the time she got to the end point where Adam stood waiting with his camera, snapping away at her, she felt invigorated to do it all over again.
“Oh my God, that was...”
“I know.” He brought his camera down, and they both said at the same time, “...so much fun.”
They both laughed.
There were three more ziplines, each higher and steeper than the other. Eva rushed to do the first two excitedly, until they got to the fourth one.
She looked around at the mountain peaks that seemed so near, the depth of the zipline 70 meters above the ground, and she swallowed nervously.
As if he always knew what she was feeling, Adam was grasping her on the shoulder. “You can do this, Eva.”
Eva nodded, so desperate to prove herself to him, for him to consider her more at his risk-taking level, that it astonished her. Not to mention the way his nearness made her whole body thrum with want.
“Yes, I can.” And she did, loving every minute of the pulse-pounding activity.

“You were right. They do make some pretty good salmon steak. Wow.” Eva commented as they stepped out of the eatery where'd they'd gone to have their dinner.
The day had been extremely fun, and she hadn't even realized when time had flown by.
Adam cast her one of his blasé looks. “Why, I've never been accused of having poor taste.”
Eva cocked her head, giving him a mock exasperated look as they started down the pathwalk that led to where he'd parked his Harley.
“Did someone tell you you'll die without a day of being cocky or what? Jeez.”
He chuckled, peeling off his lips from his pearly white teeth. “Something like that.”
“Yeah right.” She muttered, and when they were about a metre away from the Harley, held him back by the elbow.
A questioning brow rose at her. “What, Sweetheart?”
“Why are you so desperate to go home?” She titled her head, giving him a pouty look and not ready to call it a night even after the fun she'd had throughout the day. “Let's go clubbing and dancing or something.”
He chuckled, shaking his head. “Party girl, I told you I hated clubbing.”
Eva frowned at that. “I don't remember you ever telling me that.”
“Oh.” was all he said, looking startled that he'd told her that. “I thought I was speaking to the wo... Never mind. Let's go.” The smile he flashed her was definitely forced as he turned to cross over to his bike.
She decided to pretend as if the awkward moment had never happened, striding to catch up with him when he got to the Harley. A powerful-looking thigh swung across the seat before he sat down on it.
He gave her a sideways glance, the tension which was there a moment ago haven dissipated. “Hop on, baby.”
Eva obliged, and unlike in the morning, she found herself looking forward to the ride. That didn't excuse going sans a helmet though, so she took it when he handed it over to her and felt the weight of it as she pushed it down her head.
Better safe than sorry.
She slipped her arms around him like he'd taught her to do, not because she needed to, but because it was the perfect excuse to feel his abs which were bulging hard despite the jacket he wore. His camera sat in an inside pocket just above her arm.
“So tell me, Mr. Wild One. Where can we have a wild time.”
“Now that's a pretty loaded question, don't you think?” His voice rang with a wicked timbre, the sexual insinuation not lost on her. “I know this place a bit secluded from the street which is probably the most fun nightclub around.”
“Lets go there.”
The growl of the engine and the vibration of the seat was shockingly sensual, sending a jolt right through her core. Jeez, when did she turn into such a wanton woman?
Adam maneuvered the bike onto the street, and they were soon riding past the fast dissipating crowd, the air rushing by wholly exciting.
The bar was a bit set apart as Adam had said. When he stopped and she got down, she looked at the glowing words pasted just above the door which read 'Roxie's Club.”
Adam went to park his bike somewhere safe while Eva waited for him. A guy walked past, retraced his steps and then let his gaze wander over her, practically undressing her.
She scowled at him and that seemed to send the message. He scurried off into the bar and Eva was grateful. She didn't want the fun time she'd anticipated at the bar to start with her jamming her knee into some random guy's groin.
Adam returned and they strode into the establishment together, past the bouncer who was too busy pinning a blonde to the wall. The view the hallway offered had Eva pausing.
People were pinning each other to the wall, clawing at their clothes and looking like they could do it right there. Eva wondered whether there was a room designed for group sex and voyeurism.
She expected the prospect to make her shudder with disgust. Instead, excitement zapped through her veins.
Adam placed his hand at her waist, too damn close to her ass, leading her deeper into the room. With the disco lights bouncing off everywhere and people of all sexualities dancing and grinding lewdly on the dancefloor or kissing furiously in the corners, it was the perfect place to find a one night stand.
She could certainly understand why a man like Adam would find the place fun, but why didn't it sit too well with her?
“Wow, this is quite a place.” She told Adam, having to shout over the forte music blaring from unseen speakers.
“Yep.” Grabbing her hand, he began pulling her past the dancefloor.
“Where are we going?”
“Getting us some shots to set the mood.”
They stopped in front of the long counter, and Adam flashed the bartender his killer smiles which always made Eva's stomach tumble. Looking at the look on the woman's face, it certainly had that effect on her too.
“Two shots of whisky, Mia.” He said to the bartender.
Mia, seeming startled out of her staring daze, scrambled to serve the order. Adam grabbed one of the glasses, downing the neat drink in one gulp without batting an eye.
Wanting to impress him, Eva grabbed hers, taking it in one gulp and regretted it instantly. The hard liquor burned her throat, making her eyes water and causing her to cough furiously.
Adam leaned over, flashing her an amused grin. “Useful advice: never drink to impress.”
“Ah thank you for your generosity, why not.” She said sarcastically, rolling her eyes. She froze when she caught Mia staring daggers at her, her eyes all but saying he's mine, bitch.
Before she could let out a laugh, she grabbed Adam's hand after he'd paid and tugged him towards the dancefloor.
“What's her problem?”
Adam grimaced, shrugging. “I made the mistake of fucking her once and she wants more.”
“In other words, you're claiming to be addictive?”
“More than the word, sweetheart.”
Eva didn't know whether it was because of the whisky she'd just gulped, but as soon as they got to the dancefloor, she began swivelling and shaking her butt rather sultrily to the upbeat rock song playing, feeling heady and excited.
Hands slipped round her waist, startling her as the owner aligned their bodies together. Eva tilted her head, wondering whether she was going to be dealing with a jackass, until she saw that it was Adam.
Her melting into their intimate posture happened naturally.
He moved with her, and she continued shaking her body. Then he pressed his crotch to her bottom, and the hardness that probed her through his jeans and hers had her gasping.
His lips was instantly at her ear. “Has anyone told you you look extremely fuckable when dancing like that?”
He held her waist more firmly and grinded his arousal against her, Eva arched to meet him, taking offence at the crude words.
“And I certainly want to fuck the hell out you.”
“The no-strings-attached sex?”
“Yes.”
“Why, Adam. I already told you I only have meaningful sex.” She said, teasing.
He growled at her ear. “Your body is sure telling me a whole different tale. You want me to fuck the hell out you.”
Oh God, yes. Eva was beginning to question her main intent for asking them to go clubbing. “You know you never really told me the rules.”
“Never fuck a friend, never fuck a friend's friend, never share secrets, no cuddling or sleep overs, never fuck someone who looks like they could fall in love with you...”
“Looks like?” She chuckled. “Love can come spontaneously. Just wait till it happens to you.”
He snorted. “Never will.”
Eva figured he didn't believe in love, but before she could ask him why, he was firmly squeezing her hips–a very potent distraction. She managed to swerve around to face him, feeling breathless and too damn aroused. God, he looked fuckable too.
How would it feel for him to take her to the nearest restroom and fuck her senseless?
“Don't look at me like that.” His voice vibrated with a warning which spoke volumes.
“Like what?” She asked, swiping her tongue over lips.
“Like you want me to take you to the washroom and fuck you against the nearest wall.
Eva's body warmed with heat and need, and she met his searing gaze head-on. “Wild One, take me to the nearest washroom.”
