𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞: 𝚋𝚎𝚐𝚒𝚗𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜
change wasn't something that omota liked. especially when it would affect him or his daily life heavily. while this change wasn't the most heavy, it still definitely affects him. why? it's because he has a new co-worker.
hayasaka tomoe. a woman with light brown hair and eyes with a stoic face. just like the rest of his co-workers, she looks just as tired as them. in fact, she was slowly falling asleep as the director was introducing her. "uramichi-kun, as hayasaka-kun will also be working with you, please do guide her." "yes, sir."
omota turned to face her, nodding in her direction. she did it back before excusing herself to change into her uniform. omota sighed when everyone left. another horrid day of work.
"okay! today's together with maman is starting now!" as omota said his usual lines with the children, hayasaka spaced out. thoughts of sashimi and takoyaki filled her head, making her stomach grumble a bit. it wasn't until usahara tapped her shoulder did she snap out of it. she headed to omota, a smile plastered on her face since it was needed for this job.
"hello, everybody! tomoe hayasaka here." a bunch of "hello hayasaka-neesan" rang out the studio. "hayasaka-neesan here will be my assistant from now on." omota said, a fake smile also plastered on his face.
"why do you need an assistant?" one of the children asked. "because in life, no matter how much you try you will never be able to succeed by yourself. it's better to get someone to help you early or else you'd end up like me when you grow older." despite the menacing and depressing aura surrounding him, omota managed to make it sound genuine and as if he was just giving out happy words to the children.
'is this guy okay in the head?' hayasaka thought to herself, choosing to not say it out loud in the case of accidentally depressing her senior. as the usual antics went on, hayasaka managed to fit in nicely with everyone. before she knew it, filming wrapped up for the rest of the day.
she quickly changed out of her uniform, feeling all sense of happiness disappear from how tired she was. she never realized just how tiring looking after children and interacting with them could be. she was glad that she didn't manage to let her nerves get to her because if she did, she knew she wouldn't be able to continue working in this place (not like she wanted to).
exiting her room, her gaze landed upon omota's. she bowed politely, letting him walk ahead of her as she trudged slowly behind. as much as she talked to him the whole day, her nerves started to quickly build up at the thought of extra interaction after work. her eyes trained on her feet, walking forward as she let out big puffs of breath. she was too focused on her breathing to realize that she would soon be bumping into someone.
upon feeling the impact on her head, she quickly looked up to meet chocolate-like eyes staring into hers. she yelped in surprise, taking a few steps as she apologized. when it was apparent that the brunette before her was waiting for her to finish, she quickly shut up, a bright blush on her face as she felt her lips quiver. why, oh why did she have to bump into her senior.
"good work today." omota said, taking hayasaka by surprise. he was the last person she'd expect to say that to anyone. "yes, you too!" more words tumbled out of her lips, though they all sounded like gibberish to the both of them. upon fixing her composure, she bowed to him as a means of thanking him. he bowed back before leaving, eyes never trailing back.
hayasaka let out a sigh of relief, a feeling of happiness spread all throughout her as she thought that her co-worker wasn't as bad as she thought.
i'll admit this chapter is quite boring but it's only because it's the beginning of their relationship. i can't really imagine them hitting it off right away with their personalities.
and yes, i've actually decided to write for uramichi. this man deserves some happiness in his life ffs.
