I wanted to do Just Friends anylisis, then I got depressed, then stuff. Actually watched the episode a day earlier, cuz I'm boss, but just letting u guys know, you ain't gonna feel better the next day, if you think it's gonna wear off soon. I started to write this a long time ago, and after this paragraph, it's gonna be past me, and you can see how my train of thought is...

UDDATE: I apparently forgot to actually post this... awkward... I also am in the middle of getting to post the next chapter, and that's how I found out... btw, this was all (above this paragraph and below) written before the season finale. I didn't review what I wrote and change anything, and I'm trusting that I at least made one huge mistake that doesn't work considering the finale.

How clever it is that right after that visual that was the main freak out part for the fans, follows with a break away, revealing obvious trolling, and the lyrics say "and now we'll be! Just friends!". Super freaking clever Nefcy!!! So clever that it breaks my heart!!!

That's how I felt after having to go back to reality with people (my family) that don't understand fandoms...

Buuuuut! How bout some nice things?

I like how they went about the interactions between Star and Jackie, both when Marco was paying attention, and when he wasn't. They genuinely want to be friends, and neither use any petty jealousy type trope. Star does like Marco, and she was annoyed with Jackie at first, hence the hilarious line "just because Marco has a mole, Jackie has to go have like six of them", but she wants him to be happy more than anything, so she accepts it, and makes the best of the situation. She even kinda becomes friends with Jackie, enough to the point where it's Marco that feels left out. It's only till the last part of the episode that it's revealed how sad it makes her feel. Sad, but doing what she feels is the right thing.

But yah, Marco is in a not-so-surprising-because-he's-oblivious turn of events, turns out to be-

Actually not a jerk.

Now hear me out, Star is our beautiful baby, who has been a supportive friend, and Marco has made her sad, and is not catching on to how it's affecting her, BUT how could he have figured it out? I mean, he actually went to her TO APOLOGIZE for kissing his girlfriend. That might even seem like to much caring if he hadn't really noticed anything before, and Star has been very good at keeping up appearances. If you look at all the parts where Marco is with Star, one could probably even say it seems like Star is fine, aside from her magical power problems, and the differences are so subtle that it almost wasn't there.

Have you ever experienced life? Of course you have, you may say you don't have one, but you've interacted with people long enough to learn to read, and get whatever device you're using to find this. Then you've probably seen how some says something, and they could mean something else but you're almost positive you're reading too deep into the situation.

Marco could notice, but then be all like, "Nah, she's my friend. She did set me up with Jackie, so she wants me to be with her. She does like Love Sentence., not to far of a stretch for her to want to get closer to the stage". And don't forget the worst excuse that he has at his disposal for when she acts off, that actually is pretty valid: "It could be just a Mewman thing."

The point is, it's nothing to do with them acting unreasonably, it's just that we're worried about how many sticks of dynamite are being piled up till Nefcy decides to light the match, because the pile of dynamite is the only thing that's in between the love triangle resolution.

But, I highly doubt that Star and Marco will stop being friends, even if the whole thing goes south. There is a confirmed season 3, and there's a pretty good chance that they wouldn't end Starco (platonic or otherwise) and continue the series. That's awkward. Like really awkward.

Plus look at these cuties!

Uh oh... Just realized something... This is Disney right? And they're basically roommates right?

Starco can't happen as of now, too many suggestions that would make the show canceled.

M-m-maybe they can still get together. Maybe I'm just being trash and pessimistic because I'm in a low place in fandom. R-right?

Kay, I'm about to get "political" or whatever, I feel gutsy, and if you feel like you're on edge when it comes to viewpoints in general.... please don't read on, I'm a mess, and if I make sense, good, if I don't, I warned ya.

Like, idc about the "princess Marco" thing, but honestly, the whole trans theory thing is kinda dumb. I mean, if you guys that hardcore support the theory are all about "break the mold", then what's more like that than having a guy like "feminine" things, but identify more as a dude?

I wear jeans and solid dark t-shirts all the time (I'm actually wearing a red hoodie rn) and when I want to, I rock my makeup and a dress, and secretly daydream about boy of choice. I love Sherlock and his analytical reasoning, but I also keep a book on the fairies of pixie hollow on my desk as a reminder to never forget the child in me.

Point is, Marco can wear a dress, can brush off being called a "she" by Miss. Henious, lead a feminist revolution and can still be a he.

We put so much value in girls now. If people are mean to women, suddenly they're "hating" on the female population. If they're kind to women, they're "patronizing". We can only seem to accept male help if they're in another minority that we care about. (Sorry Muslim and Chinese guys, for some reason, you don't count as a minority, because Trump has made enemies with you.)

So what can they do to shove Marco into one of minorities? Hmmm.... he wore a princess outfit, let's make that his identity because we can't accept that he's just a guy who is actually nice, talking about how "it's not criminal, to be an individual!" because he thinks it's right, and not because he has something that's not socially acceptable about him that made him "see the light" or whatever.

That's stereotyping, and is also wrong, and I am trying to be whatever I'm trying to be, and it's not working, it's not work-
