I realized something important bout the Naysaya episode! Sometimes Jearco people like the Naysaya episode cuz they think the Naysaya's appearance is prof of it being cannon. I think otherwise.

The above pic is an EXSACT quote from Tom regarding the curse, and before he said he cast the curse incase Marco was going to ask Star out, because he was worried about Star being in a relationship with someone else. Of course, the lines were of him teasing Marco, but it also shows that the curse can be activated by resolving to ask out a love interest, not necessarily a "true love" like Janna's book had said.

I mean, why would Tom tease Marco if the curse was restricted to only a soulmates instance? I mean, you can't know if the one you ask out is your soulmate, and if that we're so... well, let's just say I'd be doing something with my boyfriend instead of writing this theory. Beside that tangent of sorts, in a multi-dimensional universe where magic exists, you probably only have one soulmate, making the insult not really an insult. We know Tom's spiteful spirit, so that isn't the case. He's basically saying that any resolution to ask out someone activates the curse, and Marco's decision to ask out Jackie, true love or not, caused it to appear. We could say that a book is more reliable than Tom, but he was the one to cast it and it's a well know demon curse so...
