Chapter 12
Ringo had come home the next day to tell Jenny that he was going to go to America with the the rest of the Beatles in about a week.
"A trip to America?" Jenny asked surprised.
"Yeah, just found out today." Ringo said excitedly.
"What are you guys going to be doing there?" She asked.
"Oh probably getting screamed and chased by fans." Ringo joked.
Jenny laughed at this and then asked, "So, is there any chance I could go with you?"
"Well I heard that John was taking Cynthia with her, so there's probably a chance that you could come with me." Ringo said.
Jenny thought to herself what'd it would be like going on a plane to America and seeing all the Beatles adorning fans being excited about them being there.
The next week had gone by quick, and then it became the day that they were going to America. Jenny and Ringo woke up early so they could get to the airport in time. Once they were ready, they took a cab to the airport to meet the others. As they came in, the noise of screaming fans filled the airport.
"Crazy out there isn't it." Ringo said as they walked out to meet the others.
"Hopefully it's quieter when we get on the plane." Jenny said loud enough for him to hear.
As they got onto the plane, the boys stood outside waving to everyone before they got on. When Jenny got on and was glad that it was much quieter. She then saw the boys get on and Ringo taking the seat next to her.
"Ready?" Ringo asked while putting his hand in Jenny's
"Yup." Jenny replied squeezing Ringo's hand in excitement.
A few hours had passed when everyone was notified that they were almost in America and about all the fans waiting for then at the airport.
"Probably going to be loud again." Ringo said to Jenny.
"Carn't wait." She said sarcastically.
The plane then landed in New York causing everyone to get up and head towards the door. Once it was opened, the screams of fans had once again filled the place. They then were rushed to a press conference at the airport. Jenny stood off to the side as the others went up to the microphones so they could answer the questions being asked. Many questions were asked with the Beatles giving their witty responses making everyone laugh.
After the conference was done, they were taken into limousines where Paul, George, Ringo and Jenny got into one while John and Cynthia took another, and went to their hotel. Fans chased them all the way there, and some attempting to ride on the back of the limousines. Once they got to the hotel, everyone was quickly escorted by the police until they got to their room.
"It's crazy out there." Ringo said once they were all settled in.
"Yeah, look at all those people." Paul said looking out the window.
Everyone went over to the window to see the thousands of fans down below, hoping to catch of glimpse of them.
Throughout the rest of the day, a near-constant stream of guests visited The Beatles.
Then at 6pm that evening The Beatles gave a telephone interview to BBC presenter Brian Matthew, to be broadcast on the next day's radio show Saturday Club.
Although they had just arrived, the next day they would be busy rehearsing for their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.
