78 | DIE IN YOUR ARMS

NAYARA HAD FINALLY leveled her playing field with Sharon. Nayara knew that despite all the evil allies that Sharon had done in DC, she didn't knew it like Nayara did. All that knowledge - just like Peter had told her - was her key to success.

The brunette walked down the steps to Batcave, and quietly looked around the armory. A small smile appeared on her lips at all the weapons. Her hands brushed the top of smoke bombs that the Batfamily used quite frequently. It could serve quite a distraction for Sharon. Without thinking twice she grab some batarangs for herself before leaving.

. . .

The brunette stood still looking at the door to the warehouse. Her heart picking up when she saw Sharon Carter enter it. She knew there was no going back.

"Carter." Nayara said, looking at her.

"Lilly, finally came to end what I started?" Sharon taunted her.

"You bet." Nayara said to her, tightening her fist.

Nayara tackled Sharon, removing the dagger on her hand. The brunette wrestled with her, trying to knock her out. Sharon smirked at her as she took her on headlock. The brunette clawed her eyes, causing Sharon to let go. Then Nayara used this moment to impale a batarang on Sharon's leg.

Nayara stood up quickly before making some room between her and Sharon. "You never give up." Sharon told her.

The hero smirked at Sharon, before pressing a button on her wrist. The batarang electrocuted Sharon, causing her to fall slightly. "Then you know me well, after all." The brunette replied to her before kicking her face.

Due to the hit Sharon was thrown a couple of meters off. The blonde cleaned the blood on her nose, looking at the brunette who was know charging towards her. At last minute, Nayara jumped above her and dropped a smoke bomb. The bomb let out a smoke, leaving a weak Sharon.

Nayara's aim had worked because she delivered quick hits towards Sharon. The blonde had difficulty with the smoke. "What you doing?" Sharon yelled at her. Nayara then made sure to taunt Sharon towards a more open room. Knowing that it will help her when trying to avoid Sharon's punch.

The brunette looked at some boxes near her, and was quick to use them. She raised herself into one of the top shelfs and waited for Sharon. The blonde was slowly recovering from the hit when she entered the room Nayara was in. Nayara turned the shield - that Steve had given her a long time ago - using her wristband. Without thinking she jumped towards Sharon.

POOM!

Nayara had hit Sharon with her shield with so much force that the blonde fell on the floor. Nayara tried to hit her once more but Sharon was quicker this time. She threw Nayara off to the side, causing her to crash against a wall.

Sharon looked at the shield Nayara had in hand. Nayara tried to control the anger building up on her when she heard Sharon's crackle. "Even that couldn't save him." Sharon said to Nayara.

Nayara glared at her as she rose up once more. "I can do this all day." Nayara told her, raising her fist up. Her back was beginning to hurt, but she had to stop her. She needed to. Sharon moved around her, and Nayara followed her.

"You really think you will stop me? Steve couldn't do it. What makes you think you can?" Sharon asked her.

Nayara smirked at her, giving her bloody smile. "I am not Steve." Nayara answered before trowing the shield her way. The shield hit Sharon, causing her to follow. Nayara ran towards her tackling against the wall. However, Sharon headbutt her before punching her on the face.

Sharon smirked at the disoriented brunette. Then used her cornered state to remove a knife from her back pocket. "That's where you are wrong." Sharon told her before quickly stabbing Nayara. Nayara let out a groaned looking down at the wound on her abdomen. Sharon twisted the knife causing her to flinch.

Nayara used her knee to kick her in between her legs. "That hurt doesn't it." Nayara said to her before pushing her off. The brunette remove the knife and help on to it as she looked at Sharon. She hid the knife right behind her. "I am never letting you win." Nayara told her as she looked at Sharon who once again had the upper hand. Nayara's wound was hurting her, buts she was going to fight.

"You're powerless. No body will protect you." Sharon taunted her, while she looked at her.

"I know. So this fight will be even." Nayara said to her. Sharon taunting wasn't going to work on her. Nayara had measured the odds of surviving this fight, and they were low. But she wasn't going to give up just yet. Steve would never, and never would she. "The difference between me and you Sharon is quite simple. You're weak. A coward. I am neither of those." Nayara said to her. Then it was Nayara's turn to smirk. "And as sure as hell have the courage of the Amazons too." Nayara added before running towards her at full speed. Sharon tackled her to the ground, causing her to drop the knife she was hiding.

Sharon glared down at the brunette who was laying on the floor. She stepped on Nayara's wound, making her scream. Nayara quickly reached out to the knife and stabbed Sharon at the back of the leg with it. The blonde screamed and fell to the floor.

Nayara stood above her, glaring down at her. Her mind went to what she will do to Sharon. She knew Sharon wouldn't stay for long in a jail. Instead she will cause even more problems and even kill the ones she loved.

"You think that you are special." Sharon said to her looking to the hero. "Steve thought he had it under wraps. You're the reason he is dead. You're the reason why Emma Frost will die. Why Pepper Potts's life will end on a terrible accident. How can you save anybody when you can barely stand." Sharon added looking at the wound she had caused on Nayara's body. Nayara was paling fast.

Nayara used all her might to knelt down towards Sharon. "You're never touching them." Nayara reached out for Sharon but she stopped at the metal Sharon pressed to her chest. The brunette knew the barrel of the gun. Sharon pulled Nayara's hair, causing her to stumble backwards.

Sharon smiled down at her. "I saved the best for last." Sharon said to Nayara. She had been able to get an iron grip of her. "I killed Steve with this. Say hi for me. Then enjoy the sight as I burn your world." Sharon whispered to Nayara.

Nayara tried to pull away but Sharon punched her on her open wound. Then she hit Nayara's head against the wall. Nayara felt the blood dripping from her nose as she looked at Sharon in the eyes. Her strength was barely there.

Sharon gave her a part as she prepared to pull the trigger. "You would have saved me an awful trouble if you had just given up." Sharon whispered to her. "I thought you would at some point, but the apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it." She added to her. Nayara closed her eyes, thinking back at the people who had cared for her.

BANG!

Nayara heard it. The shot. Although, she didn't felt it. Slowly she opened her eyes just to see Sharon laying on the floor, dead. Nayara turned looking at the person who had pulled the trigger. The brunette was shocked to see no other than the Red Hood.

The Red Hood lowered his gun an approached the struggling Nayara. "You killed her." Nayara said to him.

The hero knelt down in front of Nayara. "That's how you end that kind of @#$$" Red Hood said to her. Nayara smiled a little, looking at the second robin.

Nayara leant her head back, her adrenaline slowly dying. It had finally ended. Sharon was gone. The threat was gone. Red Hood pressed a hand to her wound, that was not looking good at all. "How did you find me?" Nayara whispered to him. "It's good to see you. I would...I would have never thought I would have been saved by the legendary Red Hood." Nayara added.

The brunette could feel Red Hood smile from underneath the red helmet. Especially after his words to her. "Legendary?" Red Hood replied to her. Nayara let out a weak laugh, her smile widening at him. He helped her up, but it was clear that Nayara's energy was not going to last long.

Nayara looked back at Sharon's body. "The Lazarus pit. We can't.." Nayara voice trailed off as the room started to spin. The brunette's legs finally gave up, but the other hero was prepared for it. The Red Hood lifted her up and made his way out of the room.

. . .

Nayara laid still in the hospital room. There were bruises all around her body. Cuts where everywhere too. It was understandable, she had put up one hell of a fight after all. Despite her low odds, she had survived it. She had never given up.

Bruce Wayne stood behind the door next to Richard. "How long before she will wake up?" Richard asked Bruce, his eyes frozen on the brunette.

Bruce sighed, looking at him. "You got to give her time." Bruce said to her.

"She went there without backup." Richard replied to him.

"She knew what she was doing." Bruce pointed it out to him. "It isn't your fault, Dick." Bruce told him.

"It is. I knew her. I knew what she was going to do." Richard said, looking at the brunette. He sighed looking at Bruce. "Has somebody claimed the woman's body?" Richard asked him.

Bruce shook his head. "No." Bruce said to him. He looked at the Richard who was concern for Nayara. "Heard from Jason?" Bruce asked him, trying to change the topic.

"Hasn't said a word." Richard answered. "I should have intervene when I could. I just...I didn't want to stop her. A part of me knew she would have hated me for it." Richard added. Richard saw the slight movement coming from Nayara's body.

The brunette opened her eyes. She tried to move but it was in vain. The pain was too great. Nayara closed her eyes once more, not seeing Richard who had opened the hospital room in a hurry. When she opened them she was met by his blue eyes. "Dick?" Nayara whispered, using the nickname she knew by hard.

Richard relaxed and looked towards her, a bit less worried. "Hey, Nay." Richard said to her.

Nayara sent him a weak smile. "Jason, is he okay?" Nayara asked him.

"All good." Richard answered.

"Sharon...her body." Nayara whispered to him.

"Nobody has claimed her body yet." Richard answered her. "You needed back up." Richard too her.

"I needed to protect you. I can't loose you. I had to go in myself. I couldn't let you end up like Steve." Nayara spoke with difficulty. Dick sighed looking down at her. "You hate me, don't you for not telling." Nayara said to him, thinking back at the time Peter was mad at her for not being honest about her origins.

Dick reach out and tightly held her hand. "I don't hate you." Dick told her. Nayara let out a painful shaky breath as she looked up to him. "I don't. I am just relived you are okay." Dick added looking at her.

"You are?" Nayara asked him.

Dick gave her a brief smile. It was sincere. "Yeah, I am very glad." He told her. Nayara a lot of her strength to held Dick's tighter.

"Just next time give me a heads up." Dick added. Nayara let out a small smile looking at his blue eyes. "I got your back. Me, Bats, even Jason. We got you." Dick softly said to her. Nayara let out a small tear out. As she looked at Dick's eye, she will be safe with him.

"You will grow tired of me eventually." Nayara whispered to him.

Dick shook his head. "I doubt that." He answered her. "I will always be there, I promise." Dick added and Nayara squeeze his hands. As she took a breath, she let her guard down.

"It's very comforting to know Gotham's finest is watching over me." Nayara added looking up to him. Dick held back a smile at Nayara's words.

A knock broke the two of them and Bruce entered the room. Nayara groaned as moved her head to look at Bruce. "I am in trouble, aren't I?" Nayara said looking at Bruce. Bruce sent a look to Dick who hesitantly left the room. But it was clear to him that Nayara was not worried at all. He knew she was never faced by the glare of the Batman, something him and Tim still struggled to come accustom to. Instead of running of filling anxious, it was like it encouraged her to stand even more her ground. He never understood that.

Nayara sighed looking at Bruce. "I stole a couple of batarangs and some smoke bombs." Nayara said to him once Dick left.

"Did it work?" Bruce asked her.

"They did. It's just she was faster...I...I still haven't mastered dealing with knives and daggers so I thought it will give me enough time to break free and figure out a plan while disorienting her." Nayara answered calmly.

Then she looked up to Bruce with tears in her eyes. She knew at some point Bruce will ask her about Sharon, about she died. "I didn't kill her. I...I couldn't. Part of me wanted to, but I just couldn't cross the line. I didn't want to become her...nor disappoint you." Nayara added. Bruce was taken back by the last words.

Nayara looked up to him. "I...I tried to follow in your footsteps as much as I can. I just couldn't cross that line...you know how I say you remind me of home? Of my family? Me and my dad used to talked hours about Batman. I admired what you represented. I couldn't cross it because I knew that wasn't right. It wasn't you." Nayara tried to explain it to him.

Nayara looked down at her hands. "Disappointment from you will have been one of the worst things." She quietly added.

Bruce took a seat on a chair. "I am proud." Bruce told her. Nayara looked at him confused.

"You are just saying that to make me feel better." Nayara said it. Then she signed, accepting the silence that followed. "I know you wouldn't have said if you didn't mean it." Nayara quickly added. Bruce sent her a brief smile to her.

"And I think that Steve would have been too, and I can't speak for your parents...but they would have been proud. It's easy to loose ones way, and is not easy to get back. But you have tried your best." Bruce told her.

The brunette turned to look at Bruce. "I am not going to ask if you are okay because you aren't." Bruce told her, Nayara looked down at her hands. "I am not disappointed in you." Bruce added, trying to comfort the female hero. "Part of being a hero is wanting to protect others." Bruce informed her.

"Okay." Nayara replied. "I...I am concerned over Sharon's body. I know about the Lazarus's pit, what if she comes back?" Nayara asked him.

Bruce looked at her. "I will deal with that, just rest okay." Bruce told her.

"And the police. I...they will know what happened to Sharon." Nayara said to him.

Bruce sent her a look and Nayara knew what it meant. It will be okay. "Rest, alright?" Bruce told her. "The hospital wouldn't be asking many questions. And if they do you don't need to answer them." Bruce added.

"How?" Nayara asked him.

"I bought the hospital." Bruce told her. Nayara smiled knowing Bruce had done that in the past. "It's all over, Nayara. Rest." Bruce added to her. For the first time in a long time, Nayara felt like the weight have been lifted off her shoulder, like she could breath.

Nayara let out some tears fall down her face. She was finally free, finally free from Sharon's shadow. "It's okay." Bruce told her as he put a hand over her. The brunette sighed, feeling exhausted once more. But this time it was different. This time she was finally safe.

. . .

Nayara quickly scan the security footage of Thalia Al Gul visiting Gotham. Batman comforting her of course, but she didn't want to see anymore incase it got too much. "What is she doing back in Gotham?" Nayara asked him.

"League of Shadow business." Bruce answered her.

"There are dangers out there, the League of Shadows is one. I fear them a little bit, especially Thalia." Nayara said to him. "How Damian doing?" Nayara asked him.

"Training." Bruce said to her. "Why do I suspect you know more than you let out." He said to her.

The brunette shrugged. "I don't know why Thalia will lied to you about him. I never understood it. But he does get to became a good person once he drop off the assassin stuff." Nayara reassured him.

"I am ashamed that I can't be much help. Not yet at least." Nayara said to him. "I know I stuff some stuff from your own Batman stack, but I will like to continue training. If you let me." Nayara said to him.

"As long as you don't become a bat or a bird." Bruce reminded her. Nayara nodded at smiled at him.

Alfred walked to the two of them. "Miss Lilly, there is someone at the door for you." Alfred said to her. Nayara and Bruce shared a look.

"Who is it?" Nayara asked, knowing she didn't know that many people in Gotham.

"Helena." Alfred answered her. Nayara nodded at him and made her way to the stairs.

"Nayara, next time. Don't write a goodbye letter." Bruce said as she left.

"I don't think I will need to anymore." Nayara said, relived a little bit.

The brunette made her way to the driveway of the Wayne Manor. She spotted Helena Wayne at the steps of the house, standing unsurely. "Is it similar, to your home?" Nayara asked, opening the door to greet her.

"Yeah, it's the same from the outside." Helena answered her. "You okay?" Helena asked her.

"I am fine." Nayara said, even if her wounds were still healing.

Helena sent her a look, which made Nayara smile. "You look fine for someone who almost dies again. Red Hood mentioned it." Helena mentioned to her.

"How do you know him?" Nayara asked him.

Helena shrugged. "I encountered him a couple of times before. He thought I was back in Gotham to create chaos but I think he suspects something is up. Nightwing put in a good word for me with him, said to call it even after I told him you were searching for Sharon by yourself." Helena explained to her.

"You told him?" Nayara said incredulously.

Helena raised her hands in defense. "Look you told me not to get involved, but you didn't say anything about Nightwing." Helena said to her. "Plus, I didn't want a friend to die. I don't have many here." Helena said under her breath, but Nayara heard.

"So we are friends? Not allies?" Nayara teased her with a large smile. Helena smiled back at her. "I didn't saw you at the hospital." Nayara noted, but not as a complaint.

"I was looking after Sharon's body with Red Hood. He said something about a Lazarus pit, and you concern over it. We stood with until it was set of fire." Helena informed her. Nayara felt a weight lifted through her shoulders. Helena could see it.

Then the raven haired hero passed Nayara a file. "Illusion is around the area. Just watch your back, although I think Nightwing is already doing that." Helena said, making a face. Nayara shook her head, thinking that Helena got the wrong idea of her and Nightwing. "You know, he seem to care a lot. You should know." Helena added before turning to her motorcycle.

Nayara looked at the file, feeling a concern over her other problem: Illusion. Part of her wondered if only she took the ring that maybe she will help. It was harder to fight off the pull of the ring now without her powers.

Helena waved before driving off, leaving Nayara with her own thoughts.

Nayara texted Richard asking for Jason's address to thank him for helping her. He didn't question how he knew Jason's identity, but once you figure out Batman and Nightwing it kind of falls down to that.

. . .

Nayara knocked on Jason's door. The neighborhood he had been staying in was almost a death trap, but some how she managed to arrive just intact.

As she waited she saw a man eyeing her from down the hall. He began approaching her just as Jason opened the door. Before the man could grab Nayara, Jason stepped out and took a look at the man who was making the young hero uncomfortable. The man saw who had stepped out, clear guns on his ankle. Then he slowly backed away in fear, not wanting to test someone who wouldn't hesitate to put him in the ICU if he dared to look Nayara a certain way.

Nayara relaxed as soon as Jason opened the door. Someone would have been intimidated, but she had known of him before coming to his world. She would be lying to herself if she didn't admit she had the biggest soft spot for Red Hood. Part of her even felt safer knowing he would step in regardless of the situation, maybe not as graceful as Nightwing or Bruce, but she could care less.

Jason turned to the brunette. He stepped away, letting her inside as he glared at the man down the hall. He raised his hands in defense, and once Jason gave him another threatening glare he stepped inside the apartment and locked the door.

Nayara looked around and wasn't faced by Jason's guns on his ankles. She could see he still wore his normal Red Hood outfit. "Why are you doing here?" Jason asked her.

Nayara smiled despite the harsh tone he had. "I came in to thank you personally." She said to him as she stood in his apartment. "I should have called...but didn't know if you would have picked up." She said to him.

"I didn't gave you my address." Jason said to her.

The brunette smile widen, which was the complete opposite to Jason. "I asked Dick. I know Bruce keeps tabs on everyone. Bats have eyes and hears everywhere." Nayara commented as she looked at Jason. He was clearly thrown off course by the visit, and she could see it. "I could go." Nayara said pointing at the door.

Jason shook his head at her. "It's fine." He sighed looking at her. "But the creep down the hall is probably waiting for you to come out." He added.

Nayara nodded at him. "Well, if you don't want me here I wouldn't be offended." She quickly added.

"You aren't annoying enough to kick out." Jason said to her before putting his gun away. He silently looked at Nayara who wasn't faced by them. "I didn't know it was you." He said as he put them away safely.

Nayara looked at him as she walked closer to where he was. "I know you aren't going to shoot me either so I really could care less." Nayara commented to him. She knew what he did at night, what he did to criminals, not innocent people like her.

"Bruce might differ." Jason scoffed, holding back a nasty comment about his previous mentor. "Didn't know you got out...I would have given you a ride and that sort of thing." Jason quietly said to her. Nayara smiled at the gesture. "You were stupid." He then added, causing Nayara to laugh.

He narrowed his eyes at her. "You care." Nayara softly said looking at him with her radiant eyes. The same eyes that Richard Grayson had fallen for. "Thank you. Although, I didn't know if you have given me a ride but now I know for next time." Nayara said to him.

Jason shrugged. Nayara's smile remained not matter how slightly cold Jason was because she knew deep down he had his own barriers set up. But despite all the barriers he had a heart of gold, he just showed it differently. "I do have a question..." Nayara said to him.

Jason turned to her, eyeing her with suspicion. "How...How did you know I will be going after Sharon? I didn't told a single person about it. Not even Bruce." She said looking at Jason.

Jason looked down at the floor. "I had been there." Jason said to her, not wanting her to look at his eyes.

Nayara looked at him curiously. She knew what had happened between him a Joker. Every time she saw a crowbar she remembered, just like some remembered Batman's symbol. "It's just you didn't want revenge." Jason added. "You didn't shoot her when you could. That could have saved you." He said now looking up at her.

Nayara send him a sad smile. "She wanted me. I can't cross that line." Nayara admitted to him.

Jason then stood up closer to her, looking down at her. "You don't have to follow Batman's orders." He said to her.

"I couldn't cross that line because Bruce taught me better than that." Nayara said to him. "I don't judge you for it. You have your own path and I do too...and the person who she took away from me taught me better too." Nayara added looking at Jason in the eyes.

"So what was it? That you picked up? You wouldn't have told me if you didn't trust me." Nayara commented.

Jason was a bit taken back by how perceptive she was. It freaked him out a little, feeling as she could see through him; maybe a little bit guilty too. "You seen like you have lost someone. That she took something from you. I could feel it, you watching over your shoulder all the time. Even when we first met." Jason told her. "Plus I have gone solo myself as well, trying to contain it all. Trying to hide it from people." He quietly added.

"For what is worth, now I don't have to look over my shoulder anymore." Nayara said looking up at Jason. "She has been threatening me for years. She took away my powers, almost killed me once before you stepped in...and threatened the people I love. All to get to me. I was tired. She was my responsibility and people were paying because of me. I couldn't stand another death on my hands, Jason. If that was she wanted, me dead, then she could have it." Nayara commented.

There was not a single regret in her voice. She had come to terms with it. She wasn't scared, not when the people she cared for will be safe from harms' way.

Jason scoffed. "Do you really think that would have stopped her rampage?" He asked her. Nayara was now taken back by the question. This was the first member of the Batfamily to call her out after the accident.

"Well it was that or nothing." Nayara admitted.

Jason turned his back on her. "I guess Bruce yet again can't even bother saving somebody else." Jason murmured under his breath. Nayara frowned, seeing as he averted his eyes from her. He clearly wasn't expecting that answer.

Nayara sighed looking at him with empathy. "He tries his best. I know that." Nayara commented at Jason.

"For what? So that she will come back to you and destroy you?" Jason said to her. "She knew your identity. She was hunting you and he didn't do what was necessary." Jason added looking at her with anger. But the brunette knew it wasn't directly at her.

She sighed. "He helped the way he could, Jason. I don't hate him nor want him to change. Just like I accept what you do as Red Hood. You saved me, I am grateful for that." Nayara commented looking at him.

"Do you want me change?" Jason asked her, thinking she was like the rest. Asking him, pushing him to be different.

Nayara shook his head as she scoffed. "No." She said sharply. Now it was time for Jason to shut up and be embarrassed. "I don't want you to change. You do what you do. I accept it. I am not against it. Will I do it? No. That doesn't mean I hate you or think you are some nut job." Nayara said.

She took deep breath, trying to frame her next words. "I swear...I don't want you to change. I just came here to let you know that I am thankful for what you did. Damn it, you saved me. You came to helped me out and I wasn't expecting it. I wasn't expecting anybody to show up. I wasn't expecting anyone to have my back. But you did. I just wanted to remind you of that." Nayara said putting her hands in her jacket.

"To remind you that...I see it. You probably will scoff at my words right now, but I will tell them to you anyway. You are a hero. Hell, Green Arrow used to kill years before he was in the Justice League. I appreciate the way you do your own hero thing." Nayara added. Jason could see there wasn't any resentment in her eyes.

He rolled his eyes. "I am the lord of the criminal underworld." Jason commented seriously. Nayara let out a soft laugh at his words. "You think it is funny? People fear me." He added trying to act all tough, but Nayara giggle quietly looking at him. Jason clenched his fists, looking down at her.

"You are what now?" Nayara asked curiously. Jason murmured the answer under his breath, following by some swearing. She was not faced by it. On the contrary, she was clearly amused. "But you are Red Hood." Nayara said, pointing at the red helmet near the couch.

Jason then looked at her, perplexed at her words. Now he thought she was the nut job. "Which Red Hood have you met in Gotham?" He asked her.

Nayara shrugged. "There is only one that's you. My dear savior." She joked looking at him. Jason put his head in his hands, not understanding the unfazed brunette in front of him. Most quivered in fear. But Nayara? She didn't even flinch.

She clearly could see her reaction was taking a toll on him. "You are not really that intimidating to me, you know." Nayara quietly added, amused at the frustrated vigilante.

Jason stood up and sighed, looking at Nayara. "Why would you said that? I can be scary." Jason said to her, giving her a deathly glare but Nayara didn't bat an eye. Her smile just widen. "Damn It." He said to her.

"I think you are quite the hero. Let's say I am in trouble, I bet you will come." Nayara said pointing at him. "Why? Because you got a heart under that tough guy exterior." Nayara said, imitating his stance.

In that moment Jason gave up. He took a seat on his beat up couch, while looking at her. "That's what I see." Nayara said looking at him with bright eyes. Too bright in Jason's opinion. "Just before you question it. No, you aren't loosing your touch." She quietly adding before sending him a wink.

Jason groan in annoyance. "Can you read minds?" Jason asked her.

"No, I just get people." Nayara answered. Jason sighed, looking down at his watch. He will need to start his research before patrolling once more. "And if you are bleeding and need a place to crash..." Nayara said, pulling a piece on paper from her purse. She handed it to Jason. "Call me. Or I bet you could figure it out yourself, Red Hood." Nayara said before walking to the exit.

"Thank you for saving me, Red." She said as she neared the door.

Jason sighed, standing up from his couch and gathering his things. He picked up his motorcycle keys which caught Nayara's attention. "I am giving you a ride." Jason stated as he picked his guns too.

Nayara smirked at him. "See, you care." Nayara whispered to him as she followed him out the door.

. . .

Nayara got out of Jason's motorcycle once they reached Wayne Manor. "You didn't have to drop me off here." Nayara said as she took off her red helmet. Then she handed it back to Jason who glared at the manor.

Before she walked away, she turned one last time to the hero. Then she wrapped her arms around him, holding him tightly. Jason was frozen on his spot. Nayara felt it, but she continue to hug him. Jason coughed and hugged her back, not sure of how to proceed.

The brunette then waved goodbye at him and walked to the Wayne Manor, the safest place for her. Little did she know that looking out the window was Tim Drake, laughing and recording the interaction between her Jason. His amusement? The fact that for the first time in all those years somebody had finally broken Jason's exterior.
