NAYARA WAS AWARE of the threat that was present with Sharon running around with Illusion. The brunette had set up everything to make sure that whenever Sharon popped in, she will get the notification. However that didn't meant she was not looking around her shoulder 24/7.

The issue at hand now was not only Sharon, but Illusion as well. Someone wanted her alive, but who? Why? It could have been any villain who knew about her. But had Sharon really revealed who she was to others? If that were true this will lead to complete chaos. Even more so than the last time the portals to Marvel opened.

She also knew that she was indirectly on house arrest. Every time she said she will go out, Barry will leave to get what ever she needed. It was nice that he cared but she also knew the possibility of Sharon showing up at Barry's apartment just like she had once done. She needed to go out and find her own place, just like she had been planning.

Nayara sighed, looking out of the window at the streets below. Through the endless night she had been able to pick up the patterns of the neighbors from the neighboring buildings. It was as if this was the last escapism she could reach. It was either that or falling back to sleep to endless nightmares.

Knock, Knock!

Nayara looked at the door. "Nayara I know you are at home." Bruce said from the other side of the door.

Nayara opened the door to her favorite hero. "You are still living here?" Bruce asked her.

"Well I was looking out for apartments but I am on house arrest." Nayara told Bruce. Bruce seemed amused at that. "I have been stuck here for about two weeks now. I already ran out of things to do and search. Got anything for me to look into?" Nayara added.

Bruce walked inside the apartment, spotting the new security sensors Nayara had set up herself. Alfred had instructed her on what to do via video call.

Nayara closed the door behind him. "Barry worries that it will happen again." Nayara told Bruce.

"I haven't found anything of who could possibly want you alive." Bruce told her.

She didn't concern at all at the lack of information. "But you will. You always do." Nayara said with a small smile.

Bruce sighed looking around the apartment. Nayara silently knew he still didn't get used to people putting so much faith in him. He didn't like being the symbol of Gotham, and all the spotlight. "I need your help with something." Bruce said to her as he pulled out something from his coat.

He handed her a plane ticket, which confused her. But she accepted it nonetheless. "How much control do you have of your powers?" Bruce asked her.

Nayara hesitated for a second, looking at the ticket and then at Bruce. "You know I am in house arrest? Right?" She asked Bruce. He acted if that wasn't a big deal. Deep down she guessed he already knew that wasn't going to stop her from going out if he asked her.

She sighed, looking up at Bruce. "I haven't touch the ring since I fought Superman." Nayara told Bruce.

"I wasn't talking about the ring." Bruce replied to her.

Nayara then understood what he was talking about. "I don't know. I really haven't had the chance to practice controlling my powers. Not since the whole Sharon thing started." Nayara said to him. "I was always been looking over my shoulder. One thing after the another." Nayara commented.

Bruce nodded at her. "I think it's time we change that." Bruce said to her. He pointed at the plane ticket in her hand. "I will send a car. They will be here in thirty minutes." Bruce said to her walking out of the door.

Nayara looked over her shoulder at Bruce. "Wait, but where are we going?" Nayara asked him curiously.

Bruce did not replied. Instead he closed the door behind him. Nayara looked at the location of it confused what it meant. "This isn't even Gotham?" She mumbled under her breath.

. . .

Nayara looked at Bruce as they drove towards the small costal town. "Where are we exactly?" Nayara asked Bruce. Her eyes were drawn to the people around the town. All of who were watching their car curiously.

Nayara thought this was an awful idea, but she did not dare to tell that to Bruce. Instead she remained quiet while she tapped her fingers against the window sill.

Bruce stopped the car in front of a house that was right near a lighthouse. "Wait here." Bruce said to her. The brunette frowned at it, watching him walk away from the car.

Nayara sighed, leaning her head against the seat. Bruce approached the house near the lighthouse and deliver three sharp knocks on it. But there was no response. Nayara watched how Bruce walked to the back of the house. Nayara waited for five minutes but nothing. The brunette then opened the car and exited it.

She followed Bruce's steps to the back of the house. Then she was able to see that instead of a backyard there was a deck that led to the open sea. "What the hell are we doing? I can't help if I don't know what's going on." Nayara told him. Nayara sighed, watching the water carefully. Something seemed to steer under it.

"We are waiting for help." Bruce told her as he waited patiently. Nayara nodded at him, keeping her eyes on the water. Then she saw a shadow in the depths of it, which began to turn larger the closer it came to the deck.

Splash!

Nayara fell backwards into the deck, out of fear. Then when she looked up she was able to see a blonde man with green pants and belt with an A on it. Nayara looked up in pure shock. It only intensified when she saw someone else follow his steps into the deck.

Nayara recognized the bright red hair, the green suit, and the golden headpiece. Mera, she thought. "Hello." Bruce said to the two heroes from Atlantis. He looked down at Nayara waiting for her to reply but she just sat up, trying to comprehend who was standing in front of her.

Recognition was clear on her face but she didn't dare to say anything. She slowly stood up, pointing at the man and then at Mera. Then as soon as she realized what she did, she put her hand back next to her.

Nayara then turned to Bruce and then back at Mera. She was silently questioning him why she was here in the first place. Bruce held a chuckle, confused how Nayara hadn't picked it up quickly. "Who is this?" The blonde man asked Bruce, not recognizing the brunette.

Nayara took a deep breath before looking to them. "Nayara." Nayara said. "Nice to meet you Aquaman." Nayara said to the blonde man in front of her.

Mera sent her a smile. "I am Mera. Nice to meet you, Nayara." Mera said to her. Nayara smiled back at her.

Aquaman opened the door to the house. Mera entered as well, but Nayara remained outside with Bruce. "Okay, what are we doing here? It's Flash's jobs to introduce me to heroes." Nayara whispered to Bruce.

Bruce looked at her. "You got an advantage against Sharon, which are your powers. Use that." Bruce told her. Nayara sighed following him inside the house. Nayara looked inside the humble house. She looked at the pictures on the walls, and the handcrafted ships that were inside glass bottles.

Aquaman turned to Bruce, still keeping his eyes on Nayara. "What is she doing here?" Aquaman told Bruce.

Bruce looked at Mera. "I will be training her." Mera told Aquaman. Bruce looked at Aquaman who seemed confused.

"Nayara" Bruce called out.

Nayara jumped looking at the three heroes. "I didn't touch anything." She said to them.

"Show them." Bruce said to them. Nayara looked at him curiously.

She walked to Bruce. "I tend to tell just a handful of people my secret. Just you and Barry will just be fine." Nayara whispered to Bruce. Bruce sent her a look and she gave in.

He isn't going to throw you to the wolves, Nayara, she thought to herself.

Nayara walked outside, followed by the three heroes. She tried to focus the water in front of her. Aquaman looked at Mera who was confident in the girl's powers. She had seen it first hand a while back.

A big bubble of water started to emerge from the sea. Slowly, it started to take form.

When Nayara opened her eyes once more she was able to see the small dolphin she had created out of water. The dolphin went towards Aquaman and jumped around him. Mera smiled at the sight, while Bruce contained his own.

"That's impossible." Aquaman said, looking at the dolphin that the brunette had created. Then Nayara changed it into a fish that danced around his head. Nayara let out a small laugh. The fish then jumped back into the water.

Nayara looked at the two heroes with uncertainty. But that soon ended when Mera walked to her. "Why don't we take a walk?" Mera said to her. Nayara looked for Bruce, and he nodded reassuring her it will be okay.

So without a second thought she followed Mera while Bruce remained with Aquaman. "She isn't Atlantean, is she?" Aquaman asked him.

"I wouldn't be asking you this favor if it weren't necessary, Arthur." Bruce told her. "She is from the mainland, not Atlantis. She needs to be trained, and Mera will be make sure of that." Bruce added, looking around the empty pier.

Aquaman looked at him. "We should bring her to Atlantis then." Aquaman told, but Bruce stopped him right there.

It was clear that Bruce wasn't going to change his mind. "No, you are not. She will stay here, or Gotham were she will train." Bruce told him.

"Basically where you can keep an eye out? Should I be concerned over her?" Aquaman asked him.

Bruce shook his head. "No, trust me. She is the least of your worries." He answered him, thinking back about Sharon.

. . .

"Where are you from?" Mera asked her.

"Gotham" Nayara informed her. It was a lie, but one that she had to say to keep her origins safe.

"Not in Central City?" Mera asked her. Nayara looked at her curiously, calculating her response. "Near a harbor, where you practice. Where you made some man out of water." Mera told her. Nayara paled, looking over her shoulder where Bruce was. Then she stopped, recalling seeing something in the water months ago. However, before she could investigate it it was gone.

Mera smiled back at her. "You aren't in trouble." She noted to her. "I felt a disturbance, and went to check it out. I was around the area." Mera explained to her.

Nayara remained silent, following her steps away from the two men. "So...it's about my powers?" Nayara asked her.

"And what you can accomplish with them. Only if you practice." Mera said to her. Then she stopped, and raised her hand. A large wave appeared to go towards them and then it stopped a foot away from them. "Bruce informed me of your powers." Mera added.

"I was born with them." Nayara said to her. "I have practiced, but haven't been on the field with them." Nayara said to her.

"Is that what you want to do?" Mera asked her.

"Yeah." Nayara said to her. Mera smiled in return.

"Then I am glad I met you, Nayara." Mera said to her.

. . .

From a distance, Bruce saw Nayara and Mera walked towards them. The brunette gave a brief smile to Bruce. "Ready to go?" Bruce asked her. The brunette nodded in return.

Bruce turned to Arthur, AKA Aquaman, and shook his hand. "Good to see you Arthur." He said before turning to Mera. "Thank you." He said to her.

Mera nodded at him in return before turning to Nayara. "It was nice to meet you Nayara." Mera said to her. The brunette waved goodbye to both heroes before following Bruce back to the car.

A question still on her mind. "How does she even know your identity?" Nayara whispered to Bruce as they were leaving.

"JL." Bruce said to her. "Batman wasn't going to show up in broad daylight." He reminded her.

"So what? They know? Not all of them right....Because it's a lot." Nayara said to him.

"Only the ones that need to know." Bruce replied to her. Then he opened the car for her. The brunette thanked him but was still confused. "It's a sign of trust. You will learn eventually." He added.

Nayara looked ahead at the road. "Teaming up with the JL? I am not even near that yet. I don't even know if I will qualify to the junior league of Young Justice." Nayara explained to him. However, she saw the look of surprised that Bruce had. "Flash told me about it." She quickly lied to cover up her mistake. However, there wasn't really a need for it.

Bruce sighed. "Nayara, we all need help sometimes." He informed her. Bruce started the car. "One step at a time. Don't forget that." Bruce reminded her.

"I don't see myself in the JL. I am not that kind of hero." Nayara said to him. Bruce remained silent at her words, but played attention to them. There was still incredible doubt within her. Only if she knew the power she truly had, and the potential of it.

. . .

Nayara sighed coming out of the water. As reflex she looked over her shoulder at the shore. Sharon was still a threat, a dangerous one. No matter Bruce's silent reassurances, she still feared she had followed her here. Despite the worry she knew she needed time for herself. Time to heal and think.

"Nayara!" Mera call, snapped her out of her train of thought. The brunette swam back to the shore with confidence. "Need a couple of more minutes?" She asked her.

"No. I am okay." Nayara said finally coming to the shore. "I love the water." She joked, drying out her hands. "It's lovely out here." Nayara commented it.

"A change from the usual Central City?" Mera said to her.

Nayara nodded at her. "Yeah." Nayara said, thinking about Sharon Carter.

"First you need to leave your worries in the sea." Mera said, recognizing the look she had. "Whatever you have, it going to keep your mind away from what matters." Mera said to her.

"Which is?" Nayara asked.

"Your powers." Mera nodded. "Show me what you know. We will start from there." Mera said to her.

"All of it?" Nayara asked her unsure.

"All of it." Mera nodded.

Nayara sighed, looking at the body of water. "Concentrate on your power, or what you can do..." Mera began but Nayara stopped her.

"I don't know what I can do. I know what I can do, or at least...." Nayara began but Mera stepped towards her.

She gave her a look of reassurance. "It's okay. Just don't overthink it." Mera said to her. Nayara froze, thinking of her words.

"I...I don't know how to do that." Nayara confessed. She was always overthinking when her anxiety was high. And with a target on her back it was understandable. That and the fact she was in a world that wasn't her own, but we all know that.

"Okay, then let's start from there." Mera said to her. "I am going to teach you something that will help." Mera said to her.

Mera sat on the ground, and Nayara followed. "Now, close your eyes." Mera said to her.

Nayara hesitated for a second. All she thought how she could be a easier target now. "Nayara, close your eyes." Mera repeated.

The brunette closed them but she shifted on her spot. "What is it?" Mera asked her with her eyes closed. Nayara opened hers. "Eyes close, Nayara." She said to her. The brunette closed her eyes.

"I don't know how this is going to clear my mind." Nayara said to her.

"What worries you?" Mera asked her.

"Not being able to see what comes my way. I don't know how this is going to help." Nayara said to her.

"Just breath. It will help you clear your mind." Mera pointed out to her. Nayara sighed, clearing her mind. "Focus on the ground beneath you, and the sea ahead of you. Just listen to it." Mera said to her.

Nayara tried to clear her head, but Sharon came back up once more. She was struggling to separate herself from her worry. Nevertheless she tried. After a couple of minutes, the brunette was a bit more calmer.

Mera instructed for her to open her eyes before helping her up. "You needed a clearer head." Mera said to her. Then she walked towards the water. "Come on." She said to her.

Nayara followed her inside. Once they were further away from the shore, Mera pointed below. "Just remember to breath." Mera said to her. But before she dove in, Nayara stopped her.

"I can't breath underwater. I am not from Atlantis." Nayara said to her.

"It will work, trust me." Mera said before diving in. Nayara sighed before taking a deep breath, and diving in. Once she was below the surface, she saw a bubble of air appear around her head. One that was created by Mera.

Nayara then followed her deeper into the depths of the sea. Until they approached the bottom part of the sea. Nayara saw Mera sit down, and Nayara followed. Then Mera moved her hands and created a bubble of air around them, parting the sea.

Now Nayara was able to breath, and she looked at the bubble in amazement. She could see the fishes swim by. She placed a hand at the edge of it, and pressed it, passing it into the water behind the barrier.

"This is a good place to think, or hide if needed." Mera said to her. The brunette followed her steps and sat down. "But you can only maintain it, if you keep your head clear of any worries." Mera said to her.

"That's easier said than done." Nayara pointed out to her. Then she smiled at Mera. She had never dreamt of creating something like this before. It was going to be useful.

"So this is what I am going to learn?" Nayara asked her, looking at the bubble of water that was around them.

"And more. But you will see once you are back in Central City. This is just the beginning." Mera said to her.

Nayara smiled in return.

. . .

The brunette sighed, finally arriving back at Barry's apartment. Bruce helped her with the luggage, even if she could have carried it herself. But what she wasn't expecting was a set of arms wrapping around her.

"Welcome back!" Iris said just as Peter pulled back from the hug. Nayara smiled at the gesture.

"Hi Pete." Nayara said, smiling at him. Peter went to grab the luggage from Bruce Wayne, and then she realized they haven't formerly met. "Bruce, this is Peter. He is a friend. Peter, this is Bruce Wayne." Nayara told them.

Peter shook Bruce's hand. "Nice to meet you, sir." Peter said to him.

"Likewise." Bruce replied to him. As Iris and Peter talked Bruce approached the brunette. "You should come to Gotham. We can talk more about Sharon." Bruce said to her.

"Bruce, I can't throw that mess at your doorstep." Nayara said to him with worry.

"I can help you." Bruce reminded her.

The brunette sighed, knowing deep down she needed help. However, she was still worried what that will mean for Batman. He was already busy with his own villains. "Okay." Nayara accepted, shaking his hand.

"Take care, Nayara." Bruce said before leaving. But not before waving goodbye to Peter and Iris.

Iris smiled as she bought Nayara into a tight hug. "I hope that was a nice vacation." Iris said to her.

"It was a nice to get some fresh air." Nayara replied.

"But you were okay, right?" Peter asked her.

"Yeah....and hopefully, I will be." Nayara replied to him, thinking over Mera's training. If it all went according to plan, she will be able to defeat Sharon. Iris smiled, leaving some space for the two heroes.

Peter looked at her with worry. "Good. I hope it went well." He said to her. "Not a word from Sharon though. I have been..." He began but Nayara quickly cut him off.

"Don't, Peter. Don't get involved, please." Nayara pleaded with him.

"How am I supposed to not get involved?" Peter questioned her.

"By trusting that I can do this on my own." Nayara answered. Peter sighed looking at his ex-girlfriend. "Peter, you don't understand what she is capable of. I know you are trying to help, but...just keep your distance." Nayara explained to him.

Peter gave her a reluctant look. "One worries about the ones we love." He replied to her.

"I do too." Nayara said looking at him. She placed a hand of his shoulder. "Which is why I am asking you to step away, before you get hurt." Nayara added. "Sharon hasn't been spotted yet, but that's for me to worry about. It's my responsibility." Nayara told him.

He placed a hand over hers. "Responsibilities aside, I had a plan for once you came back." He said to her. "As friends." He added.

Nayara gave him a look. "What might those plan's be?" She joked.

"A nice day out, eating some Big Belly Burger." Peter said to her. The brunette smiled and nodded to him.

. . .

The brunette smiled at her burger with delight before taking a bite out of it. Peter held back a laugh, seeing how much she enjoyed the food. "Thanks Pete." She said with her mouth full.

The two of them sat side-by-side enjoying the food. It was in this moment that Nayara thought back about Sharon. She was finally at ease sitting beside one of her favorite human beings. One of the person she loved most.

Peter stopped, seeing a bit of ketchup on her cheek. "You got a little bit..." He said nodding towards her cheek. "Here. May I?" He asked.

Nayara nodded and allowed him to help her remove the bit of ketchup off her face. "All clear?" Nayara asked him. He looked at her face deep in thought. "Peter?" She asked once more. Peter sighed, removing his hand away from her face.

"You are one of the best people I ever got to meet." Peter said to her. Nayara smile dropped at the seriousness in his voice. "I know you said I shouldn't get involved, but I can't. I can try, and I will...but it's hard. It's so freaking hard." Peter added, placing an arm around her shoulders.

"Peter..." Nayara sighed looking up to him. She recognized those eyes.

"I love you." He blurted out to her, but Nayara didn't say anything in return. Not that she needed, because deep he knew the sacrifice she was making; even if he didn't fully understand it. "But whatever comes our way, I will be there. I don't know if I will be able to promise you that I wouldn't be involved. But I will be there when the times comes." He said to her.

He brushed the hair off her face, and Nayara leant towards his touch. "We are team, we can take whatever she throws our way." He reassured her.

Nayara smiled at him, finally having some hope. Maybe after all, she could win against Sharon.

Peter leant towards her more and she followed with some hesitation. But she didn't backed away when his lips touched hers. She let go of all her worries for a moment. She kissed him back with as much love.

However, she slowly pulled away with some reluctance. "Peter...we...I can't..." Nayara whispered to him.

"Sorry." Peter said to her, but Nayara shook her head.

"Friends don't kiss." Nayara whispered to him, still lightheaded from the kiss.

"Right." He sighed, nodding at her. But he didn't move away from her this time. Instead he remained at her side as a silence fell upon them.

. . .

The darkness was broken by a ray of light. "Zelda, good to see you." Illusion said to the woman on the projection.

"Have you been able to retrieve the girl?" Zelda asked her.

"It seems a bit harder than usual." Illusion said, looking back at the surveillance on her wall. "I have a plan in motion. I need more time." She added.

"I thought it was just a retrieve mission. Nothing should be interfering with our goal." Zelda said to her. "Do you really need our assistance?" Zelda added sarcastically.

"The smaller the group the better. I thought we agreed on that. Or will you rather explain to the Green Lantern Corps your Violet Lanterns' business here on earth?" Illusion reminded her. "There is one stationed here, but it doesn't look like he will be much of a problem." She added.

"Hal Jordan. We heard of him." Zelda said to her. "And the girl? Without a scratch?" Zelda reminded her.

"Yes, Zelda. Without a scratch. I will bring her to you just as promised." Illusion answered. "It just seems harder than expected due to her connections. She seems to have a network of super friends at her side." Illusion said to her.

This seemed to pleased Zelda. "Do tell." She said smirking at the news. It was useful, and a good sign. It meant there was a group of people she will be willing to protect. A group of people she loved.

"Supergirl seems to be one of them. But the Titans intervened, rescuing her. It seems she isn't as alone as you originally thought." Illusion replied. "They are all manageable, and they can't be watching over her twenty four seven. Although, there was only one issue at hand." Illusion said to her.

"Which is?" Zelda asked her.

"Batman." Illusion answered.

Zelda scoffed at her. "Don't worry about a worthless human." Zelda said to her. "We will be able to get the girl nonetheless. Just keep close watch on that Sharon Carter. If she is really after the same girl, then you know what to do. We will need her at all cost." Zelda said to her.

"Yes, ma'm." Illusion replied to her. "There is also someone else. Someone who seems genuine close to our target. Another super friend called Spider-Man." Illusion added.

Zelda was pleased, thinking about the people around their target. "It's good. Better than expected actually. All those connection are important to us." Zelda said. "After all, we run on love." Zelda added with a giant smirk on her face.

"Do you want me to precede with Plan B, then?" Illusion asked her.

"Do so, dearly. Keep Sharon out of the loop. Remove her if needed be." Zelda said before ending the transmission. Then she turned to her assistant. "Nayara Lilly, seems more powerful than we realized. Our dear Queen Sapphire will be pleased." Zelda told her.

. . .

Bruce Wayne looked at the file of Spider-Man. "Going over Spider-Man's file again?" Alfred asked him. Alfred saw how Bruce turned it off before turning to him. "I believe Nayara might be able to be of some assistance." Alfred said to him.

"Has she landed in Gotham?" Bruce asked Alfred.

"She has. She is already on her way, sir." Alfred informed him. "I wanted to inform you that one of the alerts went off as well." Alfred said to him.

"Sharon's?" Bruce asked him.

"She was spotted around Gotham yesterday." Alfred said to him.

"Thanks Alfred." Bruce replied. "Not a word to Nayara about it. I don't want her to worry." Bruce added.

"With the enhanced security measures you put in place, I doubt it." Alfred said to him. "But at least you are making progress. She has accepted your help, maybe this time we will learn more about this so call threat." Alfred added.

"I still struggling to understand why go after her. There got to be something else." Bruce said to him.

An alarm went off, and the two looked at the security footage of Nayara at the front gate. "In one piece, that's good." Alfred said to him before leaving to led the brunette inside.

Bruce sighed, pulling up his file on Sharon Carter. "What are you after?" He asked himself.

It wasn't long before Nayara arrived down to the cave. The brunette had figured out the way to the cave in one of her first's visit. Visibly shocking Bruce Wayne, but amusing Alfred. "Hi, Bruce." Nayara said going down the steps.

"Nayara." He greeted her.

The brunette stopped when she saw a picture of Sharon Carter on the computer. "Thanks for helping me with this." Nayara sighed. "I...I am sorry I had to bring you into this." Nayara added. But Bruce didn't reply instead he had one question.

"What's she is really after?" Bruce asked her.

Nayara looked at him. "She is after me." Nayara answered. But there was more to it than she cared to admit. "She is a ghost, one that I don't know how to stop." Nayara answered him.

"What is it really going on Nayara?" Bruce asked her again. Nayara held back her tongue, wondering what to do next. After all, it was useless lying to Batman.

"I don't understand." Nayara replied, but Batman knew deep down she understood. She knew the reason why she was being chased.

"What is really going on Nayara?" Bruce asked her once more. Nayara held back a response this time. "Why would she go after you? Out of all the millions of people, she targets you for some reason. One that you already know but can't admit it." Bruce said to her.

"It's complicated." Nayara told him.

"Nayara." Bruce repeated once more. Something in the story wasn't adding up. There was a missing piece. One that Nayara kept to herself.

Nayara bit her lip as she thought of what to do next. She didn't known how to get out of this one, or to even trust Batman with the truth. "I knew something about her. Something she didn't want others to know." Nayara said to him.

He remained patient listening in. "I..." She stopped for a moment. What will he think? How will he react if he knew the truth. "She was going to hurt someone I cared about." Nayara said to him. "I...She found out I knew and was mad. She hasn't let it go exactly." Nayara added.

"How much do you really know about her?" Bruce asked her once more.

The brunette cracked under his eyes. "I can't..." Nayara began but stopped herself. He was trying to help her. "I..." She stopped herself once more to take a deep breath. She knew deep down she could trust him, or at least she hoped she could.

And for the first time in a while, she took a leap of faith. "I know she isn't from here. She is from a different universe. One that Flash and Supergirl landed on." Nayara said to him. Bruce listened in. "It's different from the multiverse. I don't know how familiar you are with it." Nayara added.

"You will be surprised." Bruce replied to her.

Nayara sighed looking at the picture on the computer. "She is a spy. A successful one at that." Nayara added.

"You were there, weren't you." Bruce said to her. When Lex opened the portals between Marvel and DC, Bruce noticed she was the only one that seemed to know a lot about the people landing on their universe. He had questioned before, but Nayara didn't reply.

"I was." Nayara said with defeat. "I didn't open the portal that Sharon used. She did that all on her own." Nayara said, watching Bruce Wayne shift.

He thought about what this meant. What other threats can come from the other side of those portals?

"Bruce." Nayara called out to him. But he was thinking. Nayara feared he will be kicking her out, but it was the opposite.

"That's why you knew about the portals. You were there." Bruce said in thought. Then he turned to her once more.

"She is my responsibility. Whatever she does, it falls on me." Nayara said to him.

PING!

Nayara looked down at the notification. She opened it up, just to reveal a note from the apartment listing she had just looked at. It was open for her and a cosigner. The brunette sighed.

"What is it?" He asked her.

"I...I was planning on moving out of Barry's place." Nayara said to him. "But with Sharon on the loose that option is out of the table. It will just make me a easier target, even if I keep Barry and Iris save." Nayara said to him.

The brunette sighed as she looked at Sharon's picture. "I should have taken KF's proposal. He needed a new roommate." Nayara said in thought. But the brunette looked completely defeated.

"Do you really think Mera's training will help?" Nayara asked Bruce.

"It's an advantage she doesn't have." Bruce answered her. Hopefully, it will work.

. . .

Nayara struggled to hide from the voice. A pink shadow was following her every move. All while taunting her. Then she heard it Sharon's voice.

A woman appeared next to her, and put her arms around her. They were too tight. "Stop....stop..." Nayara said, pushing the woman away.

"Shhh, Nayara." The woman said to her.

Then suddenly Sharon appeared down the street. She had a gun in her hand. "Use your power." The woman said to her.

Nayara tried summoning water, but it failed. She cleared her mind but nothing. Nothing was working. "Focus on your power." The woman said to her once more.

"I can't...I can't...." Nayara said her hands shaking. Sharon walked closer to her.

Then suddenly Nayara's hand turned bright pink. They glowed. "Use your power." The woman repeated once more. Then she felt a sudden surge of energy within her. So much power, and she held on to it.

SWOOSH!

Nayara blasted Sharon with her powers, defeating her. But even still, she felt the immense energy within her. "With great power comes great responsibility." The woman said to her, holding her hands tightly. "Feel it, feel the power." The woman added.

There was a surge of energy, and she felt unstoppable. With all the power in the world.

"No." Nayara whispered to herself.

"You are powerful being, Nayara. What are you willing to do with it? Save lives?" The woman said to her.

"No..No." Nayara said, feeling the energy all around her. "It's too much. Too much power." Nayara said to herself, shaking her hands that glowed more with each passing second.

"It's yours, Nayara, if you are willing to use it. All the lives you could safe. Barry's, Bruce's, Peter's...." The woman reminded her. "It's all yours Nayara, focus on it!" She snapped.

"NO!" Nayara snapped back. She looked at the defeated Sharon. There must another way. "It's too much power. It's too much." Nayara said once more, walking away from the woman.

"You have to stop running, Nayara." The woman said to her, trying to follow her. But Nayara ran as far as she could....

Nayara sat up on her bed. Her breathing was all over the place as she held tightly her chest. "Nothing good comes from too much power." Nayara whispered to herself.

She stood up from her bed and walked to the night stand next to her. She opened the drawer just to see the pink ring on it. Nayara was about to grabbed it but she stopped herself. "Just a nightmare...." Nayara said to herself.

The brunette sighed, seeing the clock. It was too early for her to be up. But the worry she felt, the energy, it felt too real. But worries were slowly consumed by fear of falling back sleep. The Wayne Manor seemed quieter than usual. The brunette suspected that it's because most of its heroes were out patrolling.

Slowly, she reached out to her phone and dialed a well known number. "Hi? Nightwing?" Nayara asked from the other end of the line.

"Nayara." Nightwing greeted her. "You okay?" He asked her.

"Yeah. I am okay." Nayara sighed, brushing the hair off her face. "I...I had a question." Nayara said. The silence that followed led her known she could continue. "How do you it? How do you put on the suit? How do you carry the weight of what it symbolizes?" Nayara asked him.

A brief silence followed as Nightwing thought it. "Thinking of putting on the suit yourself?" He joked. But Nayara didn't laugh. Instead she coped with the worry she had from her dream.

"I don't know." Nayara confessed. "I began training, but I don't know if I'm suited for it." Nayara added.

The brunette sighed, thinking of Mera's words once more. "My mentor said to focus on my powers, but what if they aren't enough. What if when the times comes, I loose." Nayara said in thought. "If I do, what if I loose myself. Too much power can corrupt people." Nayara sighed.

"Every time I put on the suit, I get to make sure someone else gets home to their loved one." Nightwing reminded her.

"I just don't know if I will be able to handle that kind of responsibility." Nayara confessed.

"The weight? It gets easier knowing you don't have to carry it all yourself, Nay." Nightwing reminded her.

"Thanks." Nayara sighed, looking back at the clock.

. . .

Nayara walked inside Barry's apartment with Bruce. "I don't know if I am ready to practice. What if..." Nayara stopped seeing Bruce's look. "Thank you for your help, but what if Sharon already has a Plan B? What if my powers aren't enough?" Nayara mentioned it to him.

"Wherever I go trouble seems to find me. I can't stay at Barry's any longer. I can't go out to leave by myself just yet. Even with security....Sharon..." Nayara said as she thought. It was all too much for her.

"There is another option." Bruce said to Nayara as she glared at the wall.

"What?" Nayara asked him.

"Kent Farm." Bruce replied to her.

A face of recognition passed Nayara's eyes. "No....No...That's not a good idea." Nayara replied to him.

"It's isolated. Safe. Out of the grid." Bruce said to her. Nayara sighed, looking at the ceiling.

"What about Clark? If I don't feel comfortable throwing my mess at your doorstep. Imagine what I feel about Clark's?" Nayara questioned him.

"Gotham or Kent Farm." Bruce emphasized. "She wouldn't know you will be there, Nayara. At least until I get a...." Bruce began but Nayara quickly cut him off.

"No. I can't let you do that, Bruce." Nayara cut him off. "You got enough on your plate as it is." Nayara added.

"Nayara?" Bruce called out to her just as her thoughts began to take her confidence away. "Just consider it. Until things cool." Bruce added.

The brunette looked down at her hands and sighed once more. "You sure about this?" Nayara asked him.

"I am." Bruce answered her.

"Fine. Kent Farm it is." Nayara answered him. Bruce nodded back to her. Just as Bruce was about to leave the apartment, she stopped him. "Hey, Bruce." She called out. "Thank you." She said to him with a small smile. One which he returned.
