61 | ALLIES WITHOUT KNOWING

THE RAIN FELL harshly on the black limo. The chuffer opened it, letting out a blonde woman who did not look back as she entered the building: Lex Corp. Then a raven-haired woman stepped out of the vehicle, looking down at the photo in hand: Barry hugging Nayara.

"Why are we working with him again, Sharon?" The raven-haired woman who went by the name of Lady Dread said to her.

Sharon smirked at her. Her eyes were still glued to the picture she had taken from Barry's apartment when she tried to get Nayara. "Because he has the money, and the equipment needed." Sharon answered her. "And as far as I am concerned we need it for this to work, Lady Dread. I have tried doing this myself and it failed. Or do you have the money for it?" Sharon asked her.

"I will soon when I find the girl. My boss wants her for a very distinctive reason which I don't know." Lady Dread said. "I need her alive." The woman said, looking at Sharon who was plotting Nayara's death.

The blonde scoffed at her. "You know, all this Lady Dread thing is getting boring. Do you really don't have a normal name. I mean, I'm proud of Sharon." Sharon said to her.

Lady Dread smiled at her. "Well, it's Erica but it's not worth it here in this earth. I will be off after I find the girl." Lady Dread said to her.

The two women stopped when they spotted Deathstroke at the door. "If you don't want people to know you are here, then don't wear your villain costume out in the open." Sharon said to him before opening the doors. "Lex, how are you doing?" Sharon asked him.

Lex let out an exasperated sigh "I will be better if you had bought the girl to me." Lex told the blonde. Sharon took a seat in one of the chairs in front of his desk. "You came to me, saying that you knew a lot about this girl, and so we made an agreement. Which you haven't completed." Lex said, smacking his hands on the table.

Sharon looked down to her nails. "Well, your men failed to do so. Didn't they?" Sharon asked him. "They got defeated by a man who believes he is a bat. Pathetic." Sharon added.

Lex shook his hand. "Something....in the hotel attacked them. Something made out of water." Lex replied to her. "It wasn't my men who were uncapable. It was something else that...changed the plans." Lex informed her.

Sharon smirked at him, knowing that the what that attacked those men was not a what but a who. "Well, let me inform you that I have a very good way of stopping that from happening. It's quite simple really. Something you might be able to build." Sharon said to him.

"Go, on." Lex said to her.

Sharon stood up from her chair. "The collar should stop that thing from attacking your men. I know what could help you. I came prepared to this world for a reason. To end Nayara's life, and that is just the thing I need." Sharon said to him.

She showed him the files with the plans that were developed by SHIELD. "This is collar could prevent the thing from protecting Nayara. Then you and I have the girl. You could use her as leverage and then you give it to me." Sharon explained to him.

"What type of collar is this?" Lex asked her, watching the plans with curiosity.

The blonde leant on the table, a wicked smile on her face. "I'm so glad you asked." Sharon said, smirking at him. "I have the plans with me right here. Take them." Sharon said, handling them to Lex.

Lex smirked back at her before turning to Lady Dread. "You never said why you wanted to find that girl too, Lady Dread. I will recommend changing your name. There is already some other guy named Dread. Maybe in your world you were that, but here you aren't." Lex explained to her. He then handed her an ID. "Now that is for you, alone. We don't want people to look for an alien like you when you have a mission to fulfill." Lex said to her.

The raven-haired looked took the ID away from Lex. Then she shared a look with Sharon. "Good to do business with you, Lex." Sharon said, starting to walk to the door.

Once the blonde left, Lex turned to Lady Dread. "Here you go. Some extra cash if you need to. I know Sharon wouldn't exactly full fill her part of the deal, but I hope you will. Bring her to me." Lex told Lady Dread. The woman smiled back at him before hiding the money.

"So, what do you think I should call myself?" Lady Dread asked him.

"What about Illusion. Suits more. You are there, and then you aren't. You make people hallucinate." Lex explained to her.

The woman nodded at him. "I like it...and between us, please call me, Erica." She said, taking out her hand. Lex shook her hand.

Sharon waited for the fellow villain outside of Lex's hide out. The raven-haired woman looked at Sharon with a small smirk. "Sharon, I think Lex came up with a better name." The woman said to her. Sharon looked at her. "Illusion." She said to her before starting walking.

Sharon eyed the woman. "We are going back to Central City. I think I know a way to get the girl. The bad part is that for our plan to succeed, the collar must be completed." Sharon said to her.

"Why?" Illusion asked her, looked down at her intergalactic communication system. Knowing that her boss will want updates on Nayara.

"You will see." Sharon answered as she thought of a plan to trap Nayara.

. . .

Nayara sat on the small coffee by herself. Somebody took a seat opposite to her, making the girl look up to see Peter. "Hey, guess what Kara gave me today. I don't know what it is for but it seems important." Peter said, handling his own ID of this world.

The brunette said to him. "You will need it to find a job." Nayara said to him. She looked down at the coffee. "Do you really think of staying?" Nayara added.

Peter shrugged. "Well, were you go, I go. Unless you are ready to go back home, then I will wait for you." Peter told her with pure confidence.

"Queens needs you." Nayara corrected him.

"I need you." Peter added, looking at her brown eyes. Nayara quieten down at the comment. The brunette shrugged at him, a blush creeping on her cheeks. "I promised Steve.." He started but Nayara cut him off.

"I am save here. I got Batman watching over me." Nayara reassured him.

Peter frowned at the name. "What is Batman? Like a vampire?" He asked her.

Nayara shook her head. "No. He is Gotham's hero. The Cape Crusader...The Dark Knight. He protects everyone there. He has been helping me." Nayara commented to him.

Peter nodded at her. "He can't turn into a bat, can he?" He questioned her.

Nayara held back a smile. In her head she was tempted to tell Bruce about Peter so he will scare him, but she thought otherwise. "No. But he does see everything. Knowing him, he probably knowns about Spider-Man swinging around Central City." Nayara added.

Peter was taken back at the words. "But you said he worked in Gotham?" Peter asked her, taking a sip of his coffee.

Nayara snorted. "He sees everything. He knows everything. No matter what city, he will know." Nayara explained to him. Peter seemed a bit intimidated by the statement.

But nonetheless he smiled at his girlfriend. Peter shrugged at her. "I'm stuck in a different world with my girlfriend. I think I would manage." Peter said to her before sending her a wink. Nayara laughed lightly. Then Peter realized what he said and he quickly tried to fix it. "I mean....my....my girl space friend...because we are still friends, right?" Peter asked.

"Yeah, we are still friends." Nayara said to him. She sighed, looking at the outside of the coffee shop.

"It's not your fault, you know that, right?" Peter asked her. Nayara nodded at him. "You know if...." Peter started but was cut off by Iris running towards them.

"Good news!" Iris said to Nayara. "I already got the flowers and I found a possible dress. I am dying to go with you to find them, Nayara." Iris said with excitement. "Oh, and there is someone I will like you to meet." Iris said before turning around. "Linda!" Iris called out. A tall brunette turned and started to walk towards them before they knew it.

Nayara almost dropped her coffee if it were not for Peter catching it. "Thanks." Nayara whispered to him before turning to look at Linda Park. Nayara smiled at the character who she had briefly heard from the Flash comics.

"Linda, this is Barry's friend, Nayara." Iris said, pointing at Nayara. "And this is her friend, Peter." Iris said, pointing at Peter.

Peter waved at her. "Hi, I'm Linda. I work with Iris." Linda said to the two of them.

"She is going to a party back work, which you two are invited of course." Iris said to Nayara and Peter. Linda's phone beeped, her eyes turned a little bit sadder. She walked away to send a text to the phone number. "Her boyfriend left her. They had been together for a while." Iris explained to them.

"Yeah, I get the feeling." Peter whispered to himself before drinking his coffee.

Nayara jumped from her seat. "Okay, so he is not coming to the party. Right?" Nayara asked Iris. Iris nodded at her. "I can set her up with somebody who I know. I have this feeling that tells me they will hit it off pretty well." Nayara said, thinking of Wally. Peter looked at her, catching briefly the sight of mischief.

Peter watched his ex-girlfriend curiously. But didn't said anything else. "Alright. I will set her up." Iris said, looking at Nayara. The brunette smiled at her back before turning to watch the cars pass by.

However, something caught her eye. She saw somebody stop a car with just bare hands. When she narrowed her eyes, she was able to see the blonde short hair of the person she once had met while fighting the meta-human that made people hallucinate their worst fears.

Nayara did not thought twice before taking off to follow the blonde. Peter tried catching up with her but she had already left with her motorcycle.

The hero sighed, watching her speed off. Then he slowly turned to Iris. "Does she do that often?" Peter asked her.

"Sometimes." Iris answered. "I heard she might take it from her favorite hero of Gotham. Barry mentions that he does disappear sometimes." Iris continued looking up to Peter. She could see the worry in his eyes. "Don't worry, she is a smart kid. It will be more worrying if she did it without us noticing it." Iris reassured Peter.

Peter nodded at her. "Do you need a photographer for the wedding?" Peter asked her. Iris smiled brightly at him, taking out her hand for him to shake.

"We will love it." Iris said to him. Then she sat back down on the coffee shop. "Nayara always mentioned how talented you were." She said to him. Peter blushed at the statement, not getting used to hearing people hearing Nayara talk none-stop about him.

. . .

Nayara parked her motorcycle near an old building on the West side of Central City. The brunette kept a good hold of her helmet as she quietly followed the woman with short hair. The blonde woman then took a sudden turn, and when Nayara reach it she was nowhere in sight.

Boom!

Nayara turned quickly at the sound of someone crashing behind her. The brunette's eyes widen when she saw the face of the woman she had been following, only to realize that it was not a woman but a girl her age. "Kara?" Nayara asked, looking at her confusingly.

Now it was the blonde's eyes to widen. "How do you know my name?" Kara asked her.

Nayara looked at her with curiosity. "You don't remember me? I mean, I know you were mad about Clark but I thought we talked about it." Nayara said to her as she put both of her hands on her hips.

The blonde approached her, and Nayara stood her ground. The latter looked at her as she spoke. "How do you know my name?" Kara asked her.

She scoffed looking at her new hair. "When did you cut your hair?" She asked to her in return. However, the question seemed to anger her even more. This made her stop, analyzing her eyes.

Nayara saw there was no recognition on them. "You were the one who fought the meta-human who created nightmares. Why didn't you tell me?" Nayara asked her.

This Kara pushed her against the wall. Nayara flinched. "What's wrong with you?" Nayara asked her. Nayara silently thought back the time she saw this blonde fight the meta-human.

"How do you know my name?" The blonde asked her once more. Nayara scoffed at her, but there were pain her eyes.

"We are friends." Nayara stated looking at her as she continued to think back at that evening. "I mean, did somebody stole your memory?" Nayara asked her, until she stopped.

The blonde looked at the girl as recognition passed through her head. "The white suit. My Kara never wears the white suit, only Powergirl does it." Nayara said, thinking back at it. Nayara smiled at her.

It all clicked on the brunette's mind. "Oh my gosh, you don't know who I am because you are not my Kara. You are the other Kara. You are Powergirl!" Nayara exclaimed in excitement. Her turned into a brighter tone as she looked up at her with a new found smile.

The blonde looked at her confused. This wasn't the reaction of threatening someone. "I read about you...I mean....I didn't....Forget what I say....You aren't from this earth...I aren't either....You are Kara from Earth-2. Aren't you?" Nayara asked her. Her mind was going a thousand miles per hour. "In your earth you were Supergirl, and....then....what was it....you fought this guy and crashed landed here....you crashed landed." Nayara said in thought, forgetting at the filter she had put on, to not freak out the heroes she met.

The blonde stepped away from her. "How do you know all this?" Kara from Earth 2 say. The brunette's reaction was freaking her a bit.

Nayara let out a small laugh. Nayara pointed at herself and then at her. "You will be surprised to know you aren't the only one in the wrong place." Nayara answered her. Nayara quickly took out her hand. "I'm Nayara, nice to meet you....I mean I met the other you in this earth...and now you? Well...hi." Nayara stuttered.

Kara looked at her with curious eyes before shaking her head. "Why were you following me?" Kara asked her.

Nayara shrugged at her, confused at the issue. "Because I was wanting to thank you and I...I don't know...I guess I just thought you might know more about this meta-human that you fought. I mean...you saved my life. I wouldn't consider you a threat." Nayara said to her.

The blonde shook her head. "She isn't meta-human." Kara said as she took a few steps back. Nayara looked at her with curiosity. "She is an alien. One that I saw crash here and I have tried to stop her." Kara said to her. "Why are you even following people with powers? Do you have a thing for superheroes?" Kara asked her, confused at the brunette's non-fearful look at the whole thing.

Nayara let out a nervous laugh. "You might say that." Nayara said as she watched her raise up to the sky. "Wait...where are you going?" Nayara asked her.

"I'm going home. Stop following." Kara said to her.

Nayara looked up to her. "When did you crash?" Nayara asked her.

Kara looked at the brunette. "I crashed months ago in National City, just to realize that somebody else had taken my name." Kara said to her. Nayara picked up the pace as she followed her. "And how did you know I wasn't from this earth? Where did you read it?" Kara asked her.

"Well....I'm not from this world. Not even this universe. I also crashed. I know the feeling. Although it's slightly different when you move between earths. There are still slight similarities among earths, the people are mostly the same just different. Like...I don't know maybe the you from Earth 3 doesn't have powers but you are still Kara Danvers. With worlds, there are bigger differences. I mean in mine superheroes didn't exist, just in....it doesn't matter. The point is that you are now here in a different earth." Nayara tried to explained to her.

Kara stopped, turning around to face her. She slowly flew down to her level. "You seem to know a lot about this." Kara said to her.

Nayara shrugged, looking at Kara from Earth-2. "I have a friend who has that experience. I have also read a lot about it. I mean, sometimes if you run or fly fast enough you create enough energy to pass between these two earths, or even different earths. Then you can also create a portal, or as I call it a bridge. There are different earths within a world, or universe. They are all close together, but never touching. Sometimes they vibrate so close to each other that you can create a bridge between them." Nayara explained to her.

"And...do you know how to open one of those?" Kara asked her.

The brunette shrugged at her. "I know what you need to open them. I don't know how to create one myself." Nayara answered her. "You want to go back?" Nayara asked her.

"I have family to go back to." Kara answered her. Nayara sent her a knowing look. "You must have family to go back to, as well." Kara added.

Nayara sent her a weak smile. Then she stopped, looking at Kara from Earth-2. "If I may ask, why were you fighting that alien. The one that created hallucinations of your worst nightmare?" Nayara asked her. Kara looked at her from over her shoulder.

"I am not saying anything else to you. I shouldn't even be talking to you." Kara said to her. "Helena will be pissed." She said to herself but Nayara heard it.

Nayara smirked at her. "Helena, as in Huntress from Earth-2? I would love to meet her." Nayara said to her. Kara from Earth-2 looked at her with an annoyed expression.

Nayara raised her hands in defense. "Look, I know you don't trust me. I wouldn't trust a stranger neither...but I think we can help each other out. I, Nayara Lilly, promise to help you out to find a way back home, while you help me with this alien threat. Plus, I will gladly help Helena too. I know you don't trust me now, but I hope someday you will." Nayara explained to her. "Just wait here one second. I am just going to write my number so that you can call me if anything shows up. It wouldn't hurt make allies, right? I mean we are both trying to stop that alien." Nayara said before walking away.

Kara from Earth-2 remained silent as she watched the girl return with a piece of paper. "Call if you need anything, Powergirl!" Nayara said, taking out her hand so she could shake it.

Kara looked at her. "Has anybody taught you that you shouldn't trust strangers?" Kara asked her.

Nayara could think back at Oliver's and Logan's warning from before. "More often than not." She weakly said to her. "I might be a stranger to you, but you are not a stranger to me." Nayara said.

She sent her a small wave. "I'm just here if you need a friend or help on anything. You might not be my Kara, but I know what is like to feel out of place." Nayara explained before she started to walk away. The two of them parted their ways without the knowledge that the two of them become allies eventually. They just needed time.

. . .

Nayara arrived to the apartment. The brunette walked straight to her computer. She needed to find a place to sleep and possibly a job. Since she was going to stay here for a while she needed to adapt once more.

The brunette was working when she heard a knock on the window. Nayara turned to look at it surprised to see a person wearing a black suit with a blue bird on the chest. She set the computer down before walking towards Nightwing.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in Gotham?" Nayara asked him as she moved so that he could enter the apartment.

Nightwing entered the apartment gracefully. Nayara quickly closed the window and put on the blinds. Once she finished, she turned to look at Nightwing who had a small smirk on his face. "Why are you here?" Nayara asked him.

"You shouldn't let heroes inside. What if I was an imposter?" Nightwing asked her.

Nayara shrugged at him, knowing that no one can go pass dressed up as Nightwing. She will spot a difference in a second. "I had Green Arrow ask me the same thing. I told him no imposter would have had that good of an aim." Nayara said, walking closer to the hero.

A couple of weeks ago she would have been nervous of embarrassing herself, and she still was but since how things were going she was not afraid any more. Embarrassing herself was not the main problem right now. "And as for you, and imposter could have tried to come up and failed. You survived...I mean...Buildings back in Gotham are pretty high compared to this one." Nayara added, not looking at Nightwing as she walked back to the couch.

He followed her through the apartment. "I came here to drop off something." Nightwing said, handling her a light brown folder to her.

The brunette looked up to him. "You could have sent it with Wally. You wouldn't have come all the way here." Nayara said to him, taking in the folder. She opened it, revealing a lot of information about the people who were trying to find her. "Bats should really have a stamp that he could use. Like the silhouette of a bat, maybe." Nayara quietly added as she went through it.

Nightwing looked over her shoulder as she eyed up the file with so much precision. She quickly read Bruce's cursive hand writing, result of years doing calligraphy.

"Bats?" Nightwing asked her, holding back a chuckle. He had never heard anybody a part from his adopted siblings call Batman that.

Nayara looked up to him with bright pink cheeks. "I just never heard, somebody call him that." He added, noticing the slight panicked face. Nayara relaxed a bit after that. "I just wanted to personally give them to you." He said to her.

Nayara smiled slightly, knowing that Richard wouldn't necessary drop off files like this. "Do you usually let people inside if they just seat by your window?" Nightwing asked her as he looked around the apartment.

Nayara answered before thinking. "Just the ones I trust." Nayara said to him. Nightwing looked at her from over his shoulder and smiled at her. Nayara held a smile of her own at the sight of his.

"So you trust me?" Nightwing asked her. Nayara just simply smiled back before turning to look at the file.

As the brunette glimpse through the information, Nightwing heard the window being opened. The masked hero looked at the girl who hadn't noticed the sound of it. He walked towards where her room was, and slowly opened the door to it.

"R-Nightwing?" Nayara called out to him. The brunette looked up just to see him gone. Nayara stood up from the couch and walked towards Nightwing's shadow.

The hero took out his metal batons, as he quietly approached the shadow near the window. The shadow took out his mask. Nayara suddenly recognized who Nightwing was aiming at, but it was too late.

Swoosh!

Peter moved out of the way just in time thanks to his Spidey senses. He shot a web towards Nightwing who avoided it with ease. "Hey! Stop!" Nayara yelled from the door. She ran to both of them.

The brunette put a hand on Nightwing's chest as he was about to approach Peter. "Stop it!" Nayara said, looking at Nightwing. Nayara pulled away her hand when she realized where it was. The brunette's cheek turned a darker shade of pink.

Nayara turned to Peter, who had his eyes narrowed at Nightwing. "P-Spidey, put your webs down." Nayara whispered to Peter. Peter opened his mouth to complain, but Nayara's glare stopped him.

Nayara put a hand on Peter's wrist as she looked at his eyes. "Please, put it down. He is just a friend." Nayara whispered to him. Peter hesitated before putting down his wrist, but that didn't stop him from sending glares at the other hero.

Nightwing look at the webs the boy had thrown at him. "Yuk? Do these things come from you?" Nightwing asked him.

"Do you want to find out?" Peter said, raising his wrist once more.

"Peter!" Nayara whispered and yell. "Peter look at me, right now." Nayara said to him. The brunette moved so that she could be right in front of Peter. She looked at him with tired eyes. The former hero put his wrist down.

Peter nodded towards Nightwing. "What is he doing here? Who is this?" Peter asked Nayara.

"That's Nightwing. He is here to drop off something." Nayara said to him. Then she turned to the blue bird hero. "Nightwing this is Spiderman." Nayara said as she looked both heroes. "Now, we are all friends here. So can we all come down." Nayara said as she walked to close the window once more.

Nightwing looked at Peter with narrowed eyes, recognizing his face as the one he saw in Nayara's lock screen. Nayara walked away from the room and towards the living room. Nightwing following her closely.

Nightwing took a hold of her arm, stopping her. "He is the guy in your lock screen when we first met back at that party." Nightwing whispered to her. "So, you are two...together?" Nightwing asked her.

"He is my e-friend." Nayara answered, pulling away from him with a sad look that did not went pass Nightwing. She realized she was about to call Peter her 'ex' and it hurt too much to admit it so she took a different route. "Thanks for dropping off the folder." Nayara added, trying to change the topic.

However, he was quick to notice the change. He had enough experience with Batman. "You didn't answer my question." Nightwing said to her as she took a seat down in the couch. "You are like Batman when I ask him something he doesn't want to answer. He just leaves me to figure it out." Nightwing joked.

The brunette looked down at the couch. "I'm more concern over why Lex wants me dead. I mean, I have never met the guy...Well, only when I hit him with those arrows, but I hide my face. He didn't know it was me." Nayara said to him.

Nightwing sighed looking down at her. "Well, Robin is out there already keeping taps on him." Nightwing told her. "And I am too. I wouldn't want you to get hurt." Nightwing said to her.

Nayara looked up to him with a small smile. She watched how he came closer to the window. He opened it, ready to make his way out. Nayara looked at him as he put one leg out of the window. "You worry?" Nayara asked him, curious to know what he would answer. She thought it was nice that he was helping her, but knowing him she knew he just wouldn't help somebody who he had not known for that long.

Nightwing's smirk turned into a smile. "I never said I didn't." Nightwing answered back. Nayara let out a small laugh as she shook her head. "I have to go." Nightwing said before leaving through the window.

Once he was out of the apartment the young girl walked to the window to close it. Then she used the blinds to cover the window once more. "Just a friend?" Peter asked her. Nayara sighed, turning to her beloved hero. "I wouldn't mind if you called me your ex. You know. It doesn't really hurt since its just stating the facts." Peter told Nayara.

The brunette turned to look at him. "It's not you who it hurts to say it." Nayara replied back. Peter looked at her with a glimpse of hope in his eyes. "And....you know....I just thought that....we were friends you know. Unless...you don't agree with that. I mean, I will understand." Nayara said to him.

"Do you love me?" Peter asked her.

Nayara took a seat on the couch, looking at the folder Nightwing had just dropped. "I do." Nayara said before turning her eyes the folder once more.

Peter sighed, coming closer to her. He pulled her into a hug, which she gladly accepted. She rested her head on the emblem of his chest. "I love you. That's what I do the things I do." She whispered to him. Peter put hand behind her, pulling her closer to her and then kissing the top of her head.

"I love you." Peter whispered to her, holding her in his arms. Because despite the world falling around Nayara, it was them that grounded them both.
