56 | SPIDERS HIDE EVERYWHERE

NAYARA LOOKED AROUND the dark street. Nayara's hand shook as she walked down for a few blocks, only to be stopped by somebody. Nayara looked up to be met with a red gloved hand coming from an alley.

Nayara turned, looking at Steve. Her eyes watered at at the sight in front of her. "Nayara." Steve cried out as he fell to the floor, holding his chest. There were multiple holes on it, and the red blood was staining the entire suit.

Nayara knelt next to Steve, putting a hand on his chest. "I'm here." Nayara whispered to him.

"This is your fault." Steve said, looking at her with a disappointed look on his face. One that broke Nayara, but the girl decided to stand tall against it. Just like Bruce had told her: be brave.

Nayara shook her head. "No, it's not." Nayara whispered. "You told me to go. I wished...I wished that this would have been me and not you. I missed you so much." Nayara said as a tear fell down her face.

She held his hand until it stopped moving. Nayara closed his eyes as she let out a few sobs. "You are never coming back." Nayara whispered, looking at the body.

Nayara, Nayara.

Nayara frowned, hearing her name. The brunette stood up. "What?" Nayara asked, looking around her.

Nayara, Nayara.

Nayara looked at the alley and everywhere around her, but nothing. "Emma? Kara? Who is it?" Nayara asked, looking around. Then she stopped when she saw pink arrows on the floor. Nayara followed them, out of the alley and into the street. The brunette froze when she saw a silhouette of something created by a pink light. The same one she had dreamt of right after she put on the ring after fighting Superman. "What do you want?" Nayara asked it.

"Nayara, you loved so much." The silhouette said. Nayara's blood ran cold at it.

Nayara closed her eyes and shook her head. "Be brave. Be brave." She whispered to herself.

The silhouette then ran towards her. Nayara scream at the top of her lungs.

Nayara sat up from her bed. The brunette closed her eyes, being startled by the light being emitted next to her. When Nayara's eyes focused she noticed it was the pink ring. The one she had hid in a box within a box under her dresser.

"How did you get here?" Nayara questioned, looking at it.

"Nayara, are you up?" Barry yelled from the other side.

Nayara quickly hide the ring under the blanket. "Yeah. I'm getting ready though. I will be out in a minute." Nayara called out.

"Alright. Kara is here." Barry said to her before he walked away from the room. Barry walked to a concerned Kara sitting in the leaving room. "I could have swore I just heard her scream." Barry told Kara. Kara nodded at him.

Nayara quickly get up from bed, still in shock. The brunette looked at the ring that was now lying on her bed. "I have to call Bruce." Nayara said, putting a hand on her head.

Barry crossed his arms over his chest. "I think you should go in." Barry told Kara. "I mean, she is not making a sound, is she? Is she alright? I don't want to intrude." Barry said to Kara.

"I don't know. I don't want just barge in." Kara told Barry. "I am still picking up the pieces from our fight." Kara quickly added.

Iris sighed, walking to the bedroom as the two heroes bickered. She quietly tapped the door, asking for permission. As she was about to open the door, the door swung open by Nayara. "Good morning, Iris. I love that shirt." She said in a rush.

Iris smiled at her. "Thanks." Iris said to her. Iris watched how she quickly picked up her sweater from the hanger. "Where are you going?" Iris asked Nayara.

"I'm going to Wally's." Nayara said before racing out of the door.

"But your breakfast." Barry called out, but the brunette did not hear it. She had already left. "Why was she in such a rush?" Barry asked Iris.

Iris shrugged at him. "She will be fine though. She is with Wally." Iris said. They would have wished she was.

. . .

Nayara parked her motorcycle near the harbor that she always used to be. The brunette looked at the pink ring with curiosity and amazement. "How did you even move?" Nayara asked the ring. Nayara took out Steve's dog tags and played with them with one hand while she looked at the ring.

The brunette then decided it was time to do an experiment. Nayara put the ring inside her hand. She then threw it to the set of trees behind her. The ring flew out of her sight. Nayara turned around, deciding that the best way to let out the stress was to practice her powers.

Nayara put Steve's dog tags back in her neck before getting herself in position. "Alright, let's go back to the start." Nayara said to herself. As she practiced she remembered the first time her powers developed. She knew that powers within mutants tended to develop under stressful circumstances, and in case she was a in a very stressful situation. She was being held by HYDRA agents with a gun pointed at Steve. Steve could have told the rest of the Avengers about her, about her gifts, but he reminded silent. He kept that away from his team mates to keep her safe.

As Nayara dug deeper into the memory, she did not realize she was using her powers to build up a person made out of water. The person started to get a more detailed former as her memories passed through her head.

Bang!

Nayara snapped out of her trace due to a something hitting the back of her head. Nayara looked up to see for a brief second the person she had created without her knowledge: Steve. Nayara turned around, looking for the thing that had hit her, and she found it right next to her feet.

The brunette looked down at the ring that was shining brighter than before. Nayara knelt down next to it, looking at in curiosity. She picked it up, and looked around her. "Hey, is somebody there?" Nayara yelled, looking at the trees.

Nothing.

Nayara sighed, shaking her head. Nayara dropped the ring, and returned to her practice. As she tried to build up the person once more, something hit her head once more. Nayara turned around, but nothing hit it.

"Wally, if you are hiding come out. It's not funny." Nayara said out loud.

Nothing.

Nayara, picked up the ring and put it in front of her so that it could not be thrown at her once more. Nayara raised her hand while she held Steve's dog tags once more. As she practiced her power, she saw something in front of her move. The girl ignored thinking she had been seeing things.

She was not.

Nayara looked proudly at the person she had created with water. The brunette tried to move it, and it did. Nayara let out a small laugh, discovering that she could do something new with her powers. The girl then relaxed her hands, letting the water freeze.

Nayara stopped, seeing the frozen statute of Steve.

Bang!

Nayara felt backwards, holding her stomach. The girl groaned in pain, looking at the cause of it. The ring. Nayara quickly stood up, looking how the ring moved closer to her. "What the hell?" Nayara asked, looking at the pink ring.

Nayara quickly picked up the ring, and put it in her bag. She had to call Bruce quickly.

. . .

Barry walked inside the detention center of Star Labs. "Well, well if it isn't Nayara's guardian angel?" Sharon said, looking at Barry who was wearing his flash suit. Sharon smirked at him, letting out a sarcastic laugh.

Barry had done everything to get information from her, but the woman would not fall for anything. The blonde woman stood up from where she sat. "She was just lucky that you were there when I pushed her off that building, but you can't protect her forever. I told the same thing to Steve, and he was just so stubborn." Sharon told him.

"Why do you hate Nayara so much?" Barry asked her.

Sharon sighed before making a fake thinking face. "She corrupted Steve. She took him away from me, and ruined my mission. That man protected her like she was his own blood...and that's when HYDRA had a better idea." Sharon answered Barry.

"You aren't getting out of here any time soon, so speak up." Barry told her.

"HYDRA wanted to destroy Steve Rogers for decades, but it seemed that something always got in the way. Always! So...when Nayara, without knowing the consequences, told me that I will be the downfall of Steve HYDRA was afraid that she will be the next thing stopping the organization from destroying Steve Rogers. So....I tried to drastically reason with her but she will not say a thing. She was no afraid." Sharon said, her face turning one into anger. "And Steve changed. Whatever that girl told him the day she met me, and right after, completely changed him. She did not know who she was and still defended her. That meant that the plan was ruined, but HYDRA never gives up." Sharon explained to him. "Then something occurred to my boss, which was that maybe we were targeting the wrong person. There are many ways to destroy a person, some in which you don't have to hurt them directly." Sharon added.

"Why did you tried to kill her, then? Steve is already dead." Barry told her.

"I wasn't going to let that girl run free after what she did." Sharon told Barry. "Oh, and tell her that even during his last breath Steve still thought of her. Everything he did, the same he picked, who he fought and protected was for a reason." Sharon finished.

Barry slowly walked away from the cell. "And Flash!" Sharon called him, making him freeze. "She isn't the only ones who knows how to make alliances. She angered a lot of people when she arrived here, and some might know who she is, but they will pay a great deal to know the truth about her." Sharon added. Barry flashed a way out of there before he lost it.

A small laugh was heard from the cell next to Sharon. "Blondie, you really hate that kid." The raven-haired woman said as she played with the smoke coming from her hands. "What is her name?" The woman asked.

Sharon let out a sarcastic laugh. "Nayara Lilly." Sharon told her. The woman's hears recognized the name. "But I wouldn't be here for long. I got friends and a plan to execute." She added.

"Really? You think you can go pass that guy?" The woman asked her.

Sharon sighed. "Oh, I will. And what are you doing here anyways?" Sharon asked her.

"I am stuck in this stupid planet because, I'm in search of somebody. I was paid to find her. Some powerful people want her alive." The woman told Sharon. "Do you know this girl Nayara?" The woman asked her.

"She is the girl I tried to kill. I will recognize that girl anywhere." Sharon told her.

"Then we can help each other. I have been looking for her myself as well. I'm Lady Dread, that's what they call me." The woman with the raven hair said.

"Sharon, nice to meet you." Sharon said, silently smirking at her new alliance. "And what is it that you?" Sharon asked her.

"I put fear on people." The woman answered.

. . .

Barry paced around the computers where Cisco sat. "Nayara isn't picking up her phone." Barry told Cisco.

"Well, maybe she is busy." Cisco said to him. "You shouldn't be stressing yourself just because some woman mentioned that she made friends here. I mean....I think that Nayara could handle herself pretty well. I mean, did you saw how she beat up Deathstroke? By herself. No help." Cisco explained to him.

Barry stopped pacing, shaking his head. He didn't doubt that Nayara could take care of herself. What worried him was Sharon's allies in this world. Who could she have made a deal with? But the worst of all was the effect that Nayara's secret will have on her life if it got out.

"I have to go and talk to her." Barry said to him as he put both of his hands on his hair. Barry nodded at Cisco before flashing off to Wally's place.

. . .

Nayara sat quietly on a park bench as she ate her pizza. After calling Bruce with an urgency call telling him what happen and how she didn't know what do, it was clear that she may have to probably make a quick visit to Gotham city, which she didn't mind at all with all honesty.

The brunette was quietly eating when something caught her eye. From a far there were people crowded over the entrance of a hotel. Nayara torn her eyes away from them, and turned them to the pink ring inside her bag. "What am I supposed to do with you?" Nayara asked out loud.

The brunette heard some women scream in excitement as they ran to the hotel. Nayara who was curious to know who they were screaming for got up from her seat and walked towards the crowd. As she got closer, she could hear people calling out one name in particular: Lex Luthor.

Nayara slowly started to walk away from the scene, watching it carefully. As she walked back she accidently crashed against somebody. "Sorry." Nayara excused herself, quickly turning around to see the face of a man with an eye patch. Nayara only knew one person who wore an eyepatch and worked with Lex: Deathstroke. However, she had not seen the mask without the mask so she decided it was better not jump into conclusion.

"Waiting for a picture with Lex?" The man asked her.

Nayara shook her head. "No. I was just wondering why there were so many people in the hotel." Nayara said before she starting to walk away. The girl looked over her shoulder at how the man walked towards the car was being surrounded, and then got inside the car.

The brunette relaxed a little bit, watching it go. Nayara then started to make her way towards where she had parked her motorcycle without knowledge of the two eyes that were following her.

The man who she had talked to sat next to Lex Luthor in the car. He took out a photo from inside of his pocket. "That's the girl the girl from the photo the woman gave us." The man said to Lex.

Lex Luthor smirked at him. "All should fake eventually to its own place. We must way. She is the key to our success, Wilson." Lex told him. "She will be our key to Supergirl from what the woman told us, and that means it will be our key to Superman." Lex added.

"Whatever you say Luthor." Slade Wilson replied.

Lex took out his phone, looking at the timer in his hand. "We just need an extra distraction." Lex told him before pressing a code on his phone. "Boom!" He mumbled.

. . .

Richard Grayson knocked on Wally's apartment. "Hey, Wally." Richard said when he opened the door.

"Dick, what are you doing here?" Wally asked him.

Richard looked at him with a tired expression. "I need to talk to you about something." Richard told Wally. Wally let his best friend in, knowing the concerned look on his face. "Have you heard from Nayara?" Richard asked Wally.

Wally who had heard that question thousands of time, nodded at him. "She is fine." Wally told him. "She is just....she is just needs some time for herself. That's all. You know, if you keep calling her she will keep ignoring your calls." Wally told him.

"I haven't called her that often." Richard told Wally, which was kind of a lie.

"Buddy, I know you. I have known you for years. I know that look that you have when you see her. I know you are worried, but we can't do anything about it." Wally told Richard. "She lost somebody really close to her. She just needs time." Wally explained to Richard.

Richard looked at him and nodded. "I just wanted to make sure she was alright." Richard told him. Wally chuckled at his friend. "What?" He asked him.

"Nothing. You just get really annoying when you are love struck." Wally joked at him. Richard rolled his eyes.

Knock, knock!

Wally ran to the door. He opened, reviling a worried Barry. "I need to talk to Nayara." Barry told Wally.

"Umm...well.... wrong apartment. Isn't she living with you?" Wally asked him

Barry frowned at him. "She said she was here before she left." Barry told Wally.

"When was that?" Richard asked the two speedsters.

"Hours ago." Barry said in a hurry. He put both hands over his head. "Have any of you talked to her?" Barry asked them. Both young heroes shook their head. Barry sighed, picking up his phone that was buzzing like crazy. "Hello?" Barry asked.

"There was an explosion near the Halls Park." Cisco told Barry.

"Alright. I'm already on my way. Can you please track Nayara's phone number down? She isn't with Wally." Barry said to Cisco before hanging up the phone. Barry gave one quick look at Wally before running off to deal with the explosion.

Richard send a look to Wally. "I can find Nayara faster." Richard told Wally before leaving the apartment to go and find his computer.

. . .

Nayara put her computer on top of the kitchen table. "Alright, you see the ring right?" Nayara asked the person from the other side of the video call.

"Yes. I'm not blind, Nayara." Bruce answered.

Nayara walked a couple of feet away from the table. She raised her hand, but the ring didn't move. This was the tenth time she had tried to move the ring but it didn't work. "I don't know why it isn't moving this time." Nayara told Bruce.

"What were you doing when it did?" Bruce asked her.

The brunette shrugged. "I was...I was practicing my powers. You know...the ones with water." Nayara answered.

"Then do the same thing you were doing, before." Bruce told her.

Nayara nodded before walking to the kitchen. She turned on the sink and raised her hand. She created a Steve made out of water, and slowly moved it so that it was in front of the camara. Bruce looked at it with a blank expression. Nayara looked at Steve with slight tears in her eyes. Then suddenly, the ring went flying towards her.

The girl knelt down quickly before sending all the water back to the sink. "See what happened? It just keeps going towards me." Nayara told Bruce.

Nayara picked up the ring from the floor before taking a seat in front of the computer. Before Bruce could say anything else Nayara heard a hard knock on the door. The brunette turned to the computer. "Call me when you know what it is. Oh, and be careful at there. Gotham has a lot of weird people out there." Nayara joked before hanging up the video call.

The brunette closed her computer before walking to the door. She opened it and quickly froze when she saw who was behind it. "Richard." Nayara mumbled, looking at the tall boy with the piercing blue eyes. "Hi? I mean, hi." Nayara said quickly.

"Hi." Richard said to her.

"Why are you here?" Nayara asked him, hiding slightly on the other side of the door.

"Wally and I were going to get something to eat and he said you might want to come with us." Richard lied. Nayara who was too focused on not embarrass herself did not see through the lie.

"Oh. I...I will-" Nayara started but was stopped by the ringing of her phone. The brunette picked up her phone quickly. "Hello?" Nayara asked.

"Are you okay?" Barry asked her.

"Yeah, Barry. I'm fine. I'm at home. Why do you ask?" Nayara asked him.

Barry who was currently at Star Labs kept his eyes on the person sitting on the medical bed in front of him. "I'm at Star Labs. I need you to come right now. You have to see this yourself." Barry said before hanging up the phone.

Nayara looked at Richard with a sad smile. "I will l-love to go and eat with you and Wally, but something has come up." Nayara told him. Richard nodded at her, understanding. Nayara was about to close the door when something popped in her head. "I.... I umm...read you messages and your calls, Richard." Nayara told him. "I...I'm sorry about not picking up....it...a lot has been on my mine recently.... but I'm really thankful that you c-checked up on me." Nayara said to him.

Richard gave her an award-winning smile. "I just wanted to make sure you were alrigth." Richard told her.

"That means a lot." Nayara said to him before closing the door. Richard smile widen after the door closed.

. . .

Nayara followed Barry through Star Labs' halls. "What did you need me to see?" She asked him when they were outside the doors where the person was being held.

Barry nodded at the doors before he opened them. Nayara followed him inside and stopped when she heard her name. "Nayara!" The person said, pulling her into a tight hug. Shock consumed Nayara for a few seconds before she slowly became aware of the hug. The person kissed the side of her head before pulling her tighter.

Barry watched nervously how the girl slowly recovered from shock. Nayara slowly hugged the person back. "Peter?" She mumbled, not believing who was standing next to her.
