40 | MEETING THE ONE WHO BROKE HER HEART

NAYARA SIGHED ASWally stopped a few steps away from Deathstroke. Nayara fixed her white mask that Cisco had built after he had found out about her powers. Nayara looked at Wally. "Take people out of here while I distract him." Nayara told him.

"What about you?" Wally asked her.

"I would distract him. You are faster than me." Nayara told him. Wally looked unsure. "Trust me." Nayara whispered to him.

"Just be careful." Wally told her before speeding off.

Before Nayara could go any closer, a person had landed in front of Deathstroke. The street cracked under him. Nayara rolled her eyes. "He loves making an entrance." Nayara said, tightening her fist as she looked at the fire hydrant next to her. The thing broke, allowing the water flow out of it.

"You called." Superman told him, glaring at him.

Deathstroke, looked at Superman before pressing the bottom.

Nothing.

Nothing happened. Nayara frowned at it. "Got some malfunctions going on?" Superman asked him. Nayara shook her head. A villain as skillful as him would not go out into the light like this if he did not had a plan.

"what is it?" Nayara said under her breath.

Then she saw it. Superman started to cough out of thin air. He held his throat, kneeling down slightly. "Not so tough man of steel." Deathstroke told him before kicking him straight to his face.

Nayara watched how Superman fell back, blood dripping off his mouth. Slade took out a sword from behind him as he stepped over Superman's chest. A green light was emitted by the sword he was carrying when he took out the case of it.

Nayara clenched her fist. As he was about to stab Superman, a giant rope made out of water wrapped itself around him. Nayara moved her hand to the side and the rope threw Deathstrokes away.

The villain crashed into a brick wall. He looked around, looking to see who had done such thing. Nayara walked confidently out of cover. She stood in front of Superman, glaring at Slade. "This is for Supergirl!" She yelled before she created a fist made out of water. Deathstroke tried running away from it, but it was worthless. Nayara moved her hand lower and the fist collided against Deathstroke with such force that the street cracked beneath him.

A groan came out of him. Nayara glared at him before letting the same water fist collide against him. She raised the first again, and relaxed her hand a little, letting the fist freeze. Then she gave one last hit to Deathstroke as she let out a furious cry.

Nayara turned around, looking at Superman. "I warned you." Nayara sighed. "KF, take laser eyes away from here. The more he stays, the more chances he has of dying." Nayara said as she pressed the small ear com.

Swoosh!

A sword was about to be impaled against Nayara if it were not for Wally stopping it. Wally looked at it, and then back at Deathstroke. "Throwing swords at girls it's rule, man. Have some respect." Wally said to him.

"Take him." Nayara whispered to Wally. The speedster looked at her from over his shoulder. "Go. Come on." Nayara whispered.

"I'm coming back for you." Wally told her before taking Superman away.

Deathstroke approached Nayara while limping. Nayara smirked at him. "Who are you?" Deathstroke asked her, mocking her.

Nayara smirked at him. "Your worst nightmare." Nayara said with fury in her voice. "You hurt a friend, and you would pay for it." Nayara added.

"What? With a little bit of water?" Deathstroke mocked her, taking out another sword.

Nayara glared at him. "You have not seemed me pissed off." Nayara said before she used the water to take his sword away. Some water wrapped around Deathstroke, trapping him completely. He was annoyed that a simple girl was now controlling him.

"Who do you think you are?" Deathstroke asked her. Nayara used her powers to pull Deathstroke closer. He was mere inches away from here.

"I'm the Swan!" She spit in his face. The water moved away. "And you hurt someone I care about. Two actually. Justice would be served." Nayara said before jumping high and then slamming her fist to the ground. The water holding Deathstroke flew high into the sky before dropping into the street. A giant crate formed.

. . .

Wally dropped Superman man when he goes to Star Labs. "Where's Nayara?" Barry asked Wally with pure concern.

"She told me to get this guy first." Wally told Barry. "She seems furious and I really didn't want to test her. I'm new to this friendship and I really don't want ruin it." Wally quickly added.

"Guys, she is still fighting him. Like full on fight." Cisco said, sipping on his drink as he had his eyes glued to the screen.

"Is she winning?" Superman asked before he coughed again.

"By far." Cisco mumbled.

"Wally get him to bed." Barry instructed him, putting his mask on.

"Where are you going?" Wally asked Barry.

"I'm helping her." Barry said. Before he could run, Cisco stopped him.

"We got big problems, actually. While I was on the computers the scans caught a high amount of radiation across the sewers. Like big." Cisco told Barry. "Deal with that." Cisco added.

"What about Nayara? I'm not-" Barry started, but Cisco cut him off.

"You can deal with that later. I mean, Barry. Just look. She is beating the crap out of that guy." Cisco told Barry. Barry sighed, looking conflicted.

"I go." Batman said, getting ready to leave. He had to have a few words with Nayara. Before Barry could oppose to it, he had left.

Barry gave a defeated look at Cisco before running off.

. . .

Nayara walked silently to Deathstroke. She looked down at him as he started to get up. Nayara used her water to bring his sword closer to her. "You are just a kid." He mocked her.

"You are just a masked hero." Nayara softly replied.

"Why aren't you afraid?" Deathstroke asked her, unable to hide his annoyance. He lifted a little his mask, spitting out blood.

"Because there is nothing to be afraid of. You are just a coward who likes hurting others to feel like you are above everything else. You are not the first one I have encountered. I'm not afraid of you. Nor Lex. Try anything else on Supergirl and I would end both of you." Nayara told him.

"You haven't seen nothing yet. Cities would burn. Your friend would die." Deathstroke spat at her. Nayara narrowed her eyes at him. "And when it does, I would make sure to cut you in half for everyone to see." He yelled at her face.

"I want to see you try." Nayara snapped back. Water wrapped himself around him again. This time boiling hot. Nayara clenched her fist, glaring at him. "This is for Arrow." She mumbled before throwing the man away.

Nayara looked around at some people who were trying to come closer to Deathstroke. Deathstroke smirked about to take a hold of a man when Nayara used the water to stop him. "Go, everyone. Stay back." Nayara yelled. She used the water to create a barrier around them.

"You are friends with Green Hood, huh? Well, things about to get worst for him. Are you going to be able safe everyone?" Deathstroke threatened her. Nayara out of fury used the water to bring his sword towards him. She stopped the sword in front of his face. "Supergirl will die. Everyone will and no matter how your tricks could would be, you will not be able to stop them." Deathstroke told her.

"I will kill you." Nayara said, moving the sword closer to him. This time, the sharp point was touching his nose. Nayara's face was red of anger. "I would never let you arm this or any other city." Nayara yelled at him.

"Then do it." Deathstroke told her.

Nayara clenched her fist more, causing Deathstroke to groan as the water trapping him started to boil. "Kill me if you have the guts." Deathstroke yelled at her face. Nayara closed her eyes. She knew that it would have been easy ending him there, but she knew better.

We must choose between what is right, and what is easy

Batman parked the Batmobile a few steps from the crowd. He ran out, stopping at the barrier surrounding the girl and villain. Batman narrowed his eyes, looking at how the sword was near Deathstroke's face. The sword moved down to rest near his neck.

"I would kill Supergirl with my own hands. Luther has a plan. We will every bit of hope in this world and make people realise who are the powerful ones. The ones they should follow." Deathstroke told her. Nayara took deep breath, shaking her head.

Batman sighed, getting on top of a building before jumping over the barrier made out of water. He landed behind Nayara. "So? Are you going to kill me or let the cities burn? Safe or perish?" Deathstroke asked her.

Nayara's hand shook. "It's too easy." Nayara mumbled under her breath. Then it hit her. "It's too easy for you. You aren't fighting." Nayara whispered.

"People would pay because of what you have done." Deathstroke yelled at her.

Nayara torn her eyes away from him and looked back at Batman. Small flashes her family back in her word appear. Flashes of her mother, father and brother. Flashes of the heroes she grew up with, of the ones who taught her from a young age between good and evil.

She took her eyes away from Batman. "We must choose between what is right and what is easy." Nayara told Deathstroke.

Swoosh!

The sword impaled itself to the wall next to Deathstroke's head. Nayara looked at with a strong glare. She relaxed her hands, allowing the water to freeze. The brunette added extra layers of ice in an attempt to contain in them.

She felt a hand on her shoulder. Nayara looked at Batman, and sighed. The barrier broke as Nayara let a tear fall down her face. "It's time to go." Batman told her. He threw a smoke grenade, allowing them to leave.

Nayara stopped when she saw the Batmobile. She touched the front of it. "We have to go." Batman told her. Nayara walked inside the car, leaving with her favorite hero.

Batman looked at the girl from over her shoulder. She was quiet. "You did the right thing." Batman told her. "From where you took those words from?" Batman asked her.

"Harry Potter." Nayara mumbled. She was not looking at him. "How do you know you make the right decision?" Nayara asked him as she dried her tears.

"You don't feel guilt." Batman answered her.

"I'm new to this superhero stuff. That's why I ask." Nayara said, looking around the Batmobile. The girl sniffed. "I'm sorry about the Mount Justice League. It's just I had been dying to meet my favorite heroes. I know you don't trust me and think of me as a threat. You wouldn't be spying on me if you weren't. So, it's okay. I am don't easily trust people. They have let me down multiple times." Nayara explained to Batman. "I might have come out really weird at first as well. I mean, I was standing in front of the Batman. Batman! Don't tell this to Barry, but with all honesty. You are my favorite out of all the members of the League." Nayara confessed.

Batman looked ahead, not saying a word. "You know. When I was younger, I...I used to want to be hero like you. People underestimate you, but who doesn't. The greatest minds are always ignored or underestimated. That is not new. My point is that you know...after some bad times that I have gone I still pick myself up, because if Batman can – by just being human – fight an alien invasion and always stop crime in the city, then I could." Nayara said looking at Batman. "Because no matter what happens, my issues are minimal to what you face every night. If Batman can do it, why can't I." Nayara explained to him.

Nayara looked at the approaching Star Labs. "Thank you." Nayara told him. "For being there. Why? Well, it reminded me of my family and of what my values were. We always need reminders sometimes. Sometimes we loose ourselves in some much range that we forget of who we are and what we stand fall." Nayara told him before exiting the car.

Batman exited as well. "Nayara!" Batman called her out. Nayara turned to look at him. "Do you know why we fall?" Batman asked her.

Nayara was unable to contain the smile forming on her lips. "So that we can learn how to get ourselves back up." Nayara answered, knowing Batman's own words by hard. It was Batman's turn to smile. A very brief one, but one.

Nayara sighed. She took a deep breath before running to Batman and hugging him. "Thank you for everything." She mumbled before running off inside.

. . .

Barry rested his head on his hands, his eyes almost closing. As he was about to finally fall sleep a yell alerted him. He stood up from his seat and looked around the lab. "Barry, there you are!" Iris exclaimed from the entrance of the lab.

"Shhhh." Barry shushed her, motioned her to lower her voice. He then pointed at Nayara who was fast asleep next to Kara's bed. The brunette was falling sleep on the chair next to blonde and Barry had moved another hospital bed next to the blonde so Nayara could sleep.

"Is that her?" Iris asked, her voice softer than before.

Barry nodded at her. "She didn't want to leave Kara's side." Barry told Iris. His girlfriend walked to Nayara, and looked at her.

"She is a kid." Iris said, smiling at Barry. "A kid saved your life." She joked, shaking her head. "Well, I will let you babysit." Iris said, walking to Barry. Barry smiled at her before kissing her. "I will see you later, Bar." Iris told him before leaving.

The silence only lasted for a few seconds.

Kara groaned as she quickly stood up from her bed. Barry sighed, walking towards her. "And she is awake." Barry joked at her. Kara looked around the room, her eyes stopping at Nayara.

Kara with a little bit of difficulty stood up. She took a seat next to Nayara. "What happened to her!" Kara exclaimed right next to Nayara's ear. The young brunette at hearing the sudden yell woke up in panic.

Her eyes were a little dazed. "Where...why?" Nayara asked yawning. Barry held back a laugh. Nayara turned around to look at Kara. Her eyes widen when she saw it was her. Nayara hugged tightly the brunette like she was holding for dear life. Nayara started to sniff, as she hugged Kara tighter.

"What are you crying, Nay? Are you hurt?" Kara asked her quietly. Nayara sniffed again, and shook her head.

"I'm just glad you are okay." Nayara mumbled to Kara. Barry smiled at the sight. Nayara pulled away from Kara. "You almost died, but don't worry. I beat up the crap out of Deathstroke as pay back. Just wait till I get my hands-on Luther." Nayara said, frowning.

Barry chuckled, shaking his head. "She is telling the truth." Barry told Kara. The blonde smiled at him. Nayara smiled at Barry before pulling her arms out. Barry jokingly opened his arms and hugged her back.

. . .

Nayara looked down at Kara, who was sitting on the couch. "Are you sure you are feeling okay?" Nayara asked her as she dropped down a plate with ten slices of pizza to the blonde.

"This is the fourth plate you give me." Kara pointed out. Nayara walked to the windows. "Why are you opening the curtains?" Kara asked her.

"You got to get sun to recharge your own battery and get better soon." Nayara said to her. "Unless you prefer the sunbed at the DEO?" Nayara asked her.

"I still can't believe you called my sister." Kara mumbled with her mouth full.

"I already told her you were alright. I kind of caught her in the middle of international trip. She is glad that you are okay." Nayara told Kara. "I think you got more brains than your cousin." Nayara told her as she walked back to the kitchen to get some food herself. "He doesn't listen." Nayara told her.

"You saved his life." Kara said to her. Nayara froze. "Don't act like that. I watch the news." Kara told her. "You got to admit it, you are growing fond of him." Kara joked to her.

Nayara turned to face her with half offended look. "That little idiot almost got himself killed when I told him to stay because if he was killed or injured you and Louise would have suffered. I just did it for you." Nayara told her.

There was an urgent knock coming from the door, before it burted opened. Kara used her powers to come quickly to Nayara. She stood in front of her as a man entered the apartment in a hurry calling out her name.

The man stopped when he saw Kara. "Oh my gosh, you are okay." The man said, causing Nayara to frown.

"Who the hell are you?" Nayara mumbled, unsure of the man who busted open the door.

The man ran to Kara and pulled her into a tight hug. Kara opened her mouth, she was out of words by the person that now stood in front of her. The man rested his head on her forehead, and that pissed off Nayara.

Nayara walked to the man, and pushed him away from Kara. "Who the hell do you think you are? Breaking our door and stalking Kara like a creep!" Nayara exclaimed, glaring at the man.

"Nay-" Kara started, but Nayara was not listening.

"What are you intensions with Kara mister? Because if your arm her in any way possible, psychically or mentally...or even make her cry the slightest bit I would end you." Nayara said, pointing her finger at the man. "Now talk." She demanded.

The man gulped at her. "I'm...I'm..." He could not finish due to the glare that Nayara was giving him.

"Mon-El." The man answered.

"Lar Gard?" Nayara questioned him, remembering how she had heard . Then she looked at Kara from over her shoulder. The blonde was wearing a defeating look. My ex, Kara mouthed. Nayara's glare intensified. She heard stories about him. She thought it was another boy who Kara was too good for, but no. It was the boy Kara had mentioned to Nayara in one of their late-night talks.

Nayara clenched her fist. "What are you doing here?" Nayara asked him.

"I heard from Alex she was injured." He answered. "I wanted to make sure she was alright." He added. "Who the hell do you think you are?" He questioned her.

"I'm Batman." Nayara scoffed. "More like her friend who protects anyone who would come and cause her arm. Now, why come now? Huh? Because she has been here for a while?" Nayara said, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I'm...umm.." His voice trailed off as he looked at Kara for help.

"I'm waiting." Nayara said, tapping her foot on the floor.

"I wanted to come and see if she was alright. I have been busy." Mon-El answered.

"With what exactly?" Nayara asked him.

The said man sighed. "Are you a cop or something?" He questioned her.

"Just a guardian angel." Nayara snapped at him.

"Well you are an awful one at that." He replied.

"Well, you shouldn't be talking because you broke Kara's heart."

"It wasn't the first time." The man murmured. Nayara heard him. Nayara draw back her fist and punched the man in the face.

"What do you mean not the first time? One-time, alright people make mistakes. Second, I don't know, but more?" Nayara said, looking down at him. Kara pulled Nayara away from him. "And you better pay for that door because that was unnecessary." Nayara snapped.

Kara sighed, leading Nayara into her room. "What did you do?" Kara asked her, seeing Nayara hide her fist. Kara took it and the girl flinched.

"I actually never punched that hard before. It hurts." Nayara whispered to Kara. Kara gave her a sad tired look. "I'm sorry." Nayara sighed, taking a seat on Kara's bed.

What Kara did next make Nayara frown. She laughed. "What is it?" Nayara asked her.

"You are very feisty. Like you have this burst of anger." Kara sighed, shaking her head. "Just wait here, okay?" Kara asked Nayara. Nayara nodded in return.

The blonde hero walked out of her room to see Mon-El trying to put again the door. "Sorry about that." Mon-El told her. "Who is that weirdo?" He asked her.

Kara frowned at the said man. "She is not a weirdo. She is just trying to look after me." Kara told him. She sighed looking down at the floor. "What are you really doing here?" Kara asked him.

"I just wanted to see you. I thought that after last time maybe...you know...." Mon-El told Kara. Nayara walked up to the edge of the room and looked at the two of them talk. She did not know who Kara had been dating before or what had happened the time Mon-El was referring to.

She knew one thing, that Kara had fallen for him once, and had her heart broken.

Kara sat opposite to Nayara. "Do you have a love interest back in your world? Like Barry and Iris, I mean." Nayara said, not looking at Kara.

"I did. Used to actually. But things did not work out. It happens." Kara told her.

"He cheated on you?" Nayara asked bluntly. She then gave her an apologetic look. "I'm really sorry about it. I shouldn't have put it that way." Nayara quickly said.

Kara gave her a small smile. "That was one time...but other things happen." Kara told her before going back to look at the pictures Nayara was showing her.

Kara crossed her arms, looking at Mon-El. "How did you even got here? Last time you were..." Kara did not finish because Mon-El had cut her off.

"It's a long story, but I'm back." He told her, putting his hand over a ring. Nayara frowned, looking how the man had looked down. She narrowed her eyes to the ring at hand. She noticed it had two initials. 'TT'. She frowned at it. Who could possibly be TT?She thought. "I just wanted to make sure that, you were okay." He told her.

"Yeah, I'm. Thank you." Kara told him. "Umm...Me and Nayara had a lot of things to do so I think you have to go." Kara told him. Mon-El nodded walking to the door.

"Sorry about this." He told her, before he stepped away.

Kara looked over her shoulder at Nayara who had a thinking face. "Are you okay?" Kara asked her. The girl did not answer. "Nay!" Kara called her. Her voice a little bit louder this time.

The brunette snapped out of her gaze. "Who TT?" Nayara asked her. Kara looked at her confused. "He had a ring with the initials TT. Those aren't his initials." Nayara pointed out.

"Maybe his new girlfriend or something." Kara told her.

Nayara shook her head, looking at the door. "Something is off. Shows up out of now where. Wearing a ring that ring and looking all defensive." Nayara told Kara.

"You are imaging things, Nay." Kara told her, walking to her phone to call someone to fix her door. Nayara sighed, looking at where the man once stood. Little did they know that Nayara was right.
