31 | THE BEST IS YET TO COME

NAYARA SAT QUIETLY in front of the television. She had not even dared to pick up Peter's call, afraid of the possibility that now he knew because of Steve. Barry sighed, stopping in front of the girl with his suit on, but without his mask. Barry handled her the computer. "I know what could cheer you up. What about helping me defeat some bad guys? I know you could let out some anger while rambling about my techniques and some other superhero of my world." Barry told her with a small smile.

Nayara looked at it and back at Barry. "You want my help?" Nayara asked him.

Barry nodded at her. "Yeah, we are partners. Right? If not, I have made the entire thing weird." Barry told her. Nayara's eyes died down a little. "We umm...aren't partners?" Barry asked her.

"No. It's just that is something that Steve used to say." Nayara told Barry. She looked at him with a shy look. "You know...if this were to happen...like between you and me instead of me and Steve...would you hate me for it. I mean it would have been in two different circumstances. I don't think I'm willing to save Zoom or some weird evil meta-human you are against because they are really evil. But-" Nayara said to him.

"I wouldn't hate you." Barry answered her. "I mean you did what I had to do. Would you hate me if I had changed the timeline to save Iris or even you?" Barry asked her. Nayara shook her head.

"I would be scare for you, but not mad." Nayara answered him.

Barry took a seat next to her. "Then its almost like this. We make decision based on what we believed it is right. Clearly you see good in Loki, and he clearly from what I have heard and seen really took it personally. You saved somebody, and that is what counts." Barry told her. "They are decision that might determine so much that we will never know. Where you okay with the decision you made? Before all this." Barry told her.

"Yeah, I don't think I will be able to deal with the guilt." Nayara told him.

"Then it was the right decision. And I would not hate you for it because from what I have learned all the time that I have been here is that you think about others before yourself." Barry told her. "And you did just there. You were honest with Steve, which meant a lot. You could have lied to him, but you trusted him enough to tell him the truth." Barry told her. "Now it just up to him to turn on the bulb and see that you did it because you cared about others." Barry told her.

"Thank you, Barry." Nayara said to him. She gave him a small smile. "Can I ask you something? A favor?" Nayara asked him.

"Yeah, what is it?" Barry asked her back.

"Can you get my motorcycle off the Avenger's tower. I left it there." Nayara said to him. Barry nodded putting on his mask. "I would help you out fight the bad guys. I'm not going to lie. It's really fun." Nayara said to him. Barry nodded at her, before speeding off.

She turned the computer, watching how Barry ran around the city. "Do your feet ever catch on fire?" Nayara asked him.

Barry chuckled at her. "Yeah. That is why I wear this fire proof suit." Barry told her.

"You got a fire in south west Addams." Nayara said, looking at the alerts. "Then there is a robbery at a bank and at a mall. Let's see, oh! Why would HYDRA be stealing? They have enough money to pay thousands of dudes and build weapons." Nayara said to him.

"Already on it." Barry told her. Nayara watched as Barry did his job. Then she saw him suddenly stop.

"Barry, what are you doing?" Nayara asked him. Then she heard a thumb and a thank you. She looked at the cameras, glaring at them. "Don't tell me that Spidey just ran out of spider-webs? You're kidding." Nayara said in though.

"Actually, I think it was something else." Barry told her, looking at Peter who had just saved from a terrible fall. "You are Nayara's friend." Barry said to him, waving at him.

"Boyfriend." Peter corrected him. Barry nodded at him before running off to help somebody else. Nayara looked at the footage watching a woman dressed in a black suit leaving the scene.

She frowned at her. She knew she would later have a romantic relationship with Peter. It was just a matter of time. She sighed, leaning back against the sofa in thought.

. . .

Barry skipped to a halt in front of the Nayara. "That was a good day, wasn't it?" Barry told her. Nayara smiled back at him a smile. Her phone again started to buzz badly. She looked at it, seeing an unknown number pop-up.

She frowned when it kept buzzing for the next ten minutes while she ignored it. She sighed, picking it up. "Who would be calling non-stop?" Nayara asked, picking it up.

"It must be important." Barry told her.

"Miss Lilly?" A British voice said from the other line. Nayara frowned.

"Who I'm speaking to?" Nayara asked in confusion.

"It's JARVIS. This call is an emergency call from the Avengers." JARVIS said to her. Nayara's blood ran cold.

Nayara scoffed. "Tell Tony that this isn't a funny prank." Nayara told him, shaking her head.

"It is not a prank Ms. Lilly. Your Avengers' ID would show it." JARVIS replied. Nayara walked to her purse and looked at the beeping card. "Master Stark has designed this call to come to any member of the Avengers in case of an emergency. You, Miss Lilly are being called just because of it. Your presence is requested immediately at the Avengers' mansion. It is extremely urgent." JARVIS told her before hanging up the call.

Barry lent on the back of the couch, looking at Nayara who was standing a couple of feet away from him. "What was it, Nay?" Barry asked her.

"It was from the Avengers. Jarvis said it was an emergency." Nayara told him. "I don't know what it was. It just said I had to be there." Nayara told Barry. "Can you come with me?" Nayara asked Barry. He nodded at her. He leant her his arm ready to speed off. Nayara quickly got her things and left off with Barry.

. . .

She knocked on the door, but nobody answered it. Nayara sighed. "Hello?" Nayara asked.

"Miss Lilly, welcome." JARVIS said, opening the door for her.

"Barry here is with me. He is a friend. He came here to help me out. It's that okay." Nayara told JARVIS.

"Of course. You are now the leader of the Avengers." JARVIS told her as she entered the house. Nayara stopped in the middle of the room.

"Where is Tony and Steve? Are they alright?" Nayara asked him.

"Sadly no, Miss Lilly." The IA told answered her. "Captain Rogers told me to call you before he went extremely sick along with the rest of the Avengers. You're in charge now that all the rest are all deeply sick. He asked me to put you as an option six months ago." JARVIS informed her.

"Where are they?" Nayara asked him. Before the IA could answer it, she saw a body lying on the floor. Nayara ran to it, and saw it was Steve. "Oh my, Steve." She said, kneeling down beside him. She pushed him but he wouldn't wake up. "Please, don't be dead. Don't be dead." Nayara said in panic.

Barry knelt beside her, feeling the pulse. It still was there. "He is alive." Barry told her. Nayara relaxed a little.

She shook him but he didn't move. "Steve." Nayara called out for him. Steve did not react at first. Then he moved a little. The movement was so small you could have thought he did not moved at all. "Steve, are you okay?" Nayara asked him.

Steve gave her a tired look. "I told them it wasn't you. I knew it wasn't." Steve choked out. His voice cracked a little before he groaned in pain. "It wasn't you." He whispered to her before closing his eyes.

Nayara tried to contain the panic to focus on helping her friend. "Help me get him into the medical bay." Nayara told Barry. Both of them lifted him up with difficulties. "JARVIS, where is the medical bay?" Nayara asked him. The AI quickly replied to her with the instructions.

Nayara followed Barry as she replayed Steve's words in her mind. I told them it wasn't you. I knew it wasn't. What could he have meant by that? Nayara stopped when she entered the medical bay. She saw a sight she wished she had never seen.

What seemed like thousands laid in the medical beds. Barry voice bought her out of her thoughts. "Nayara, keep a head clear." Barry reminded her. The girl nodded, holding her shaking hands.

The girl made her way down, seeing even Tony and Natasha completely out. She even spotted who she presumed was her beloved archer Hawkeye. There was nobody else who had blue eyes and blonde hair like Steve.

She stopped when she was in front of a woman with yet black hair. She narrowed her eyes at the tablet in front of her bed. "Wasp." Nayara whispered. "JARVIS where is Carol Danvers?" Nayara asked the AI.

"She is in another galaxy on a mission. I have tried to contact her but failed." JARVIS answered.

"What is going on with their system? What happened? I can't help them if I don't know what happened." Nayara told him.

"It has something to do with you Miss Lilly." JARVIS told her.

"Please, call me Nayara." Nayara said, getting tired of the formalities. "Is that why Steve said, that he knew it wasn't me?" Nayara asked him.

"I'm afraid so, Nayara." JARVIS told her. "A woman who could shape-shift entered. I'm afraid I don't know what had made them so sick." He added.

"Maybe they were poisoned. There is no other thing that could have taken them out this quickly." Barry told Nayara. "I can run some test and see." Barry said to her.

However, the brunette did not answer. Instead she walked out of the medical bed. Barry raced behind her, stopping in front of her. "Nayara," He said to her.

Nayara shook her head. "I got almost all the Avengers right there in the medical bay, and I just found out that I'm the last resource! I'm freaking out Barry. I got their lives on my hands. What if I can't figure out a cure? I'm not a scientist!" Nayara said, rising her voice in panic.

"But I'm. I can help you. You just have to listen and calm down. While I check on them all, go and see what happened." Barry told her. Nayara looked at him. "Check if there are anybody else you could call. You know a lot about this world. Use it." Barry told her.

"I can't call anybody else. I don't know if it is airborne." Nayara told him.

"That is why I'm going to figure it all out. Go." Barry said to her. Nayara sighed, shaking her head as she walked down to the security room with the help of JARVIS.

. . .

Nayara walked to the main meeting room of the Avengers. In the middle of the giant room was a giant table. She walked to it, the silence making her uneasy. "Jarvis, I need you to contact any other Avenger that isn't in this facility." Nayara told him as she walked closer to the table. "I also need you to help me out, buddy. Can you pull up any recent file about them? They have had something." Nayara said to the AI.

"Contact all the other Avengers that aren't here? Thor is the only one." JARVIS told her.

"What about Jessica Jones? Luke Cage? Doctor Strange?" Nayara asked him.

"I'm afraid that Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are not Avengers. However, you are entitled to make them one due to your status right now." JARVIS answered.

"No." Nayara said, shaking her head. She did not want to disturb any body who did not need to be disturbed. "Where is Doctor Strange?" Nayara asked him. "Is he like stuck in a different dimension or something like that?" Nayara sarcastically said.

"I'm unable to reach him." JARVIS answered. The brunette looked down at the bracelet that Steve had given her. She took it out and looked at the writing inside of it.

Nayara sighed, closing her eyes. She took deep breath calming herself down. She brushed her hair off her face. "Alright, keep trying to contact him. And call any other Avenger out there that is still alright. I also need you to call Theodore Bordeaux for help. Please call Hank McCoy as well, he is experienced scientist. Tell Barry Allen where everything is, and give him the medical reports of the Avengers." Nayara said before putting her hair in a pony tail. "Tell Thor that where ever he is, to get himself here right now." Nayara instructed the AI. "Inform him of the situation, please. I need has much help as I could get." Nayara told him.

She sighed, taking a seat on the Avenger's table. She felt something under the table. The brunette knelt down and looked at Steve's shield. She shook her head, looking at the table. "Okay, please project the security footage. I mean, you guys have to have something right?" Nayara said before everything was projected on the table. She reached out and touched.

After a few minutes of finding the right footage, she spotted herself outside the door. "JARVIS, could you fast forward where she meets the Avengers." Nayara told the AI. She looked at the status, frowning when she saw herself bring some her bring cupcakes and drinks. Nayara covered her mouth when she saw how the girl had made her way inside and hug Steve and even Tony. Nayara – in other circumstances of course – would have laughed at Tony's face when she hugged him. "Can you call Barry and ask him to examine what the cake has?" Nayara told JARVIS. "And pull up the security footage of the entire Manhattan. I need to know who the hell this woman or man this is." Nayara told him, pacing around the room.

. . .

Nayara groaned in annoyance. "JARVIS have you been able to cross-reference the face of the shapeshifter?" Nayara asked him.

"It would take longer. I have needed to render the image since most of the cameras are low quality." JARVIS told him. "And Spider-Man has arrived with the people you have requested. Spider-Man in particular is requesting your presence." JARVIS informed her.

"Okay, bring P-Spiderman in here. Then lead McCoy and Theodore to the lab with Barry." Nayara said shaking her head.

"Hello? Nayara?" Nayara heard Barry say. She looked up at a video of him in the lab.

"We got bad news. Like really bad." Barry told her. He used his speed to get a tablet. "Steve is holding up to for some reason, but the others aren't. It seemed to be a certain type of poison. The problem is I'm unable to track it down." Barry added.

"Then it means that you can't fire a cure." Nayara said, she rested her arms on the table. "Alright, I called Hank and Theodore. They are on their way to the lab. Umm, Steve must be holding up because of the serum he has...Barry are you going to be able to find a cure for it?" Nayara asked Barry.

"I will. I'm just trying to see how much time we got left." Barry told her. "We will work it out, okay?" Barry told her. Nayara nodded and hung up the call. She picked up Steve's shield and looked at it while trying to contain her tears.

"Thank god, you are okay. I haven't been able to reach you for about two hours." Peter told her. Nayara walked up to him and hugged him tight before letting a few tears fall. Peter held her tighter. "What's wrong?" Peter asked her.

"I got the entire Avengers team about to die in the basement because of some stupid mutant who just thought that it would be okay to poison them." Nayara said, pulling away from the hug. "And I'm freaking the hell out because-" Nayara stopped when she heard the loud thunder coming from down the hall.

Thor opened the doors to the room where Nayara was. "I'm glad you are here. I have been trying to find as much help as I could because-" Nayara could not finish because Thor had lifted him hammer and had cornered her to the nearest wall.

"Hey!" Peter yelled behind Thor, using his web to pulled him away from his girlfriend. "Back off my girlfriend. She is just trying to help." Peter told Thor.

"I didn't do anything to the Avengers. I was the one who called you and anybody that was left." Nayara told Thor. She raised her hands in surrender.

"Captain Rogers has named her the leader of the Avengers. Her presence was requested. If anything happened to any of the leading members of the Avengers, Miss Lilly would be the next in the chain in command." JARVIS told Thor.

"Chain in command?" Thor asked.

"Yes, sir. Miss Lilly is fourth on the list after Master Stark, Captain Rogers and Captain Danvers." JARVIS replied. Nayara felt a little pride in that, but it was minimal compared to the anxiety creeping up in her body.

"I was trying to help them." Nayara told Thor.

"Nayara, the computer is beeping." Peter told her. Nayara ran to it and looked at it. It revealed the identity of the woman who had used her as a disguise.

"She is not a shape-shifter. She just used a disguise. It wasn't Mystique." Nayara said in thought. "Jarvis please pull any SHIELD file on this woman." Nayara told him, looking at the picture of the raven-haired woman.

"I have found a file on the Avengers archive and SHIELD about the woman. Her identity is unrevealed but she goes by the name of Viper." JARVIS said to her.

"Madame HYDRA, of course. Poison." Nayara said in thought. "Can you track her down, please. Also, do a cross-reference with any member of the Serpent Society." Nayara added.

"Serpent?" Peter asked her. "Did she bite them or something?" Peter asked her.

"No, she poisoned the food and drinks she bought in. That is why Barry can't trace the poison back, because she made it. She doesn't bite people, but she can create poison. She is good at it." Nayara answered Peter. "The problem is that while Barry and Hank figure out an antidote it might be too late." Nayara pointed out.

"What if you just take an example of it?" Peter asked her.

"Barry already did that with the food. Its useless." Nayara told Peter. "And just for safety percussions, I trashed it all." Nayara told him.

"Not, like why you don't send me and Thor to get her. Just track the woman down, we go to the base and then we get the ingredients she used and all." Peter told her.

"I hate snakes." Thor mumbled, looking at the two of them. "And my apologies Lady Lilly." Thor told her, sending an apologetic look to her.

"It's fine." Nayara told him. "Well, I mean that is a possibility. Actually, a really good one." Nayara told them. She sat back down on the table, trying to track down the woman.

"Why would she want to harm the Avengers?" Thor asked her.

"She works with HYDRA. They are evil, big guy." Nayara told Thor. "And Steve is pretty much the leader of the team, and they hate him so there is the answer." Nayara said as she typed quickly on the computer. "Also, the fact that if she got rid of the Avengers they pretty much have a green light for world control." Nayara added.

. . .

Nayara fixed her mask as she walked to the quinn jet. "Alright. Come on, you made fun of Zemo while he tried to kill you. You can defeat a woman who thinks she is a snake." Nayara said to herself. Suddenly, Barry appeared in front of her. He handed her an ear comm.

"Are you sure about this? I can come." Barry told her while looking at the yellow and blue suit the girl was wearing.

"Just stay and look after Steve and the rest." Nayara told him, smiling at him. "Your job is here, mine is out there. I will be back in no time." Nayara added.

"That thing, would allow me to communicate with you wherever you are." Barry told her. "If you need me to come and help you I would go there." Barry added. Barry gave a worried smile to Nayara.

"Don't worry. I have the God of Thunder with me. What's the worst that can happen?" Nayara asked him.

"Don't say that. You are going to jinx it." Barry told her, crossing his arms over his chest. "Where did you even got the suit?" Barry asked her.

"Logan gave it to me to play dress up." Nayara said. "It was made especially for me. I quite like it." Nayara said, smiling at him. She sighed before hugging Barry a quick goodbye. Barry sighed, shaking his head as he watched her enter the quinn jet.

. . .

Thor looked at Nayara who was tapping her foot against the floor. Thor approached the girl who had Steve's dog tags on her hand. "What is it?" Thor asked her.

"What?" Nayara asked him.

"What is worrying you?" Thor asked her. "Steve mentioned you are normally very optimistic and chatty. You aren't right now." Thor pointed out.

Nayara gave him a weak smile. "The lives of most of the Avengers rests in my hands." Nayara told him. The she hesitated before adding the main reason behind her quietness. "And Steve hates me." She whispered unable to look in Thor's eyes. "I know I made the right decision for myself. I knew I would be destroyed if I had let Loki died because it would cause me immense guilt, but that doesn't help anything." Nayara told Thor. "Steve...he was the first person who trusted me and did not judge me. He opened his heart and accepted my help. He told me I was his friend and now I know that he is so destroyed because of what I did." Nayara told him. "But you know, that doesn't change the fact that I am more than willing to give my life for him. I don't want him to die. It doesn't matter if he hates me or not. All I want for him is to be okay, because even if he doesn't think of me as a friend, I still think of him as one." Nayara explained to him, hiding the tears that were about to appear.

"He doesn't hate you." Thor told her, his voice going softer.

"Guys, we are near and there is no plan." Peter said from the piloting thing.

Nayara stood up and hid the dog tags back inside her suit. "We storm there and fight." Thor said behind her.

"No. I mean we could, but I have a better idea." Nayara said. "We just need a distraction." Nayara said. "We could be smart about this. They aren't expecting me nor you two. They think they got all the Avengers. So, let them be shocked when he sees you two." Nayara told them.

"What are you going to do, Nayara?" Peter asked her.

"I'm going to get the information." Nayara said, smirking at him.

. . .

Nayara walked softly down the halls of the secret base. She hated that the smell of the sewers. She waited a few seconds before the signal went off.

Boom!

The loud sound of thunder echoed down the sewers. Nayara hide while she saw the agents and the some of the members of the Serpent Society run to where the attackers were. She took a deep breath before running down the hall. She spotted an agent walking silently through a hall. She checked there weren't any other men and turned on her shield.

The agent turned. All he got to see was the red, white and blue shield.

Nayara took his phone, and his card before hiding him inside a room. She took his gun before locking it. "Alright, let's see where the lab is." Nayara said to herself as she looked at the phone.

Guided by the phone, the brunette successfully reached the lab. "Okay, Barry. What I'm looking for?" Nayara asked she entered the lab. She sighed when she saw the massive amount of vials across the room.

"Is there any paper that says what it is?" Barry asked her. The brunette looked through it, but found nothing.

"Think like idiots. Think like a typical evil comic book villain." She whispered to herself. She looked around the room and spotted a picture of the Red Skull. She walked to it and moved it. She spotted a red bottom. She pressed it and a secret compartment opened. "Yes, secret compartment is always good news." Nayara said to herself as she looked through the files.

"Special Operations – Red Scare"

Nayara took out the giant folder. She stopped when she saw one page with the method of how to make a venom. A commotion was heard behind the door, and Nayara was quick to take the massive number of files before closing the secret compartment.

She took a seat on the floor, hiding from the view. "I'm going to get the venom that would for sure stop those bastards." Nayara heard a female voice said. She looked around, seeing Viper near a container full of water. Nayara took a deep breath before closing her eyes.

The woman screamed in annoyance as she became wet from head to toe. The distraction gave Nayara enough time to run out of the place. However, she was stopped by HYDRA agents. Nayara turned on her shield, blocking the bullets as she hid behind a door.

"What would Steve, do?" Nayara questioned and look down at the gun. She then thought of the sewers. "Hi, I'm lost. I come in peacefully." Nayara said from her hiding spot.

"Give us you weapon." An agent shouted. Nayara kicked the gun to them. "Now come out." He instructed. Nayara walked out with her hand raised high. Then suddenly the agents were pushed out of the way by a giant wave. Nayara smirked before she ran out of the way, the water clearing her path.

She was mere meters from the quinn yet when something caught her feet. The girl slid across the floor. She looked at the man dressed as a serpent. "Who are you?" He asked her.

The brunette smirked at him. "I'm an X-Men." She said before pushing the man away from her. She quickly picked up the papers and ran to the quinn jet. "We have to go now!" Nayara screamed from inside. Thor raised his hammer before slamming it into the floor. The reminding agents were knocked out, giving the other two heroes enough time to enter the vehicle and leave.

. . .

Nayara took out her mask as she ran down to the lab with the files in her hand. "Bar, I got them!" Nayara scream, giving the papers to him. "You wouldn't believe it. I went full on Captain America on those guys with my shield." Nayara said, pointing to her bracelet.

"You are wearing an X-Men suit." Hank said, looking at the girl. Nayara nodded in return at the former X-Men. "I thought you just wanted to play dress up for Haloween." He said.

"It came in handy." Nayara said, looking at Barry. "You got everything you need?" Nayara asked him.

"Good news." Theodore told Nayara. "It worked. I just told Barry." Theodore said, passing a paper to Nayara.

Nayara's eyes died down a little, realizing what it was. She was not ready to say goodbye. "Really? And have you tested it yet? to make sure that it's the right one." Nayara told him. Theodore nodded at her. Barry noticed the sudden change in Nayara's attitude, but before he could question the girl she was gone.

"She just needs time." Theodore informed Barry, patting his shoulder.

. . .

Nayara walked around the medical bay, checking on the sick members of the Avengers. One started to move, and Nayara walked closer to him. "What the hell?" Tony mumbled, looking around.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you. The venom is still in your system." Nayara said to him, before walking closer to the bed. She opened up more the whole of the bag with the antidote more. She watched how it passed through the tube and into Tony's veins. "Everyone should be okay in no time. Peter is here to look after you guys." Nayara said to Tony. She gave the man a small smile. She sighed, walking away from him. "It was Viper by the way. The one who came like me as a disguise. It has been taken care of, and you got the plans of the future evil attempts of destroying the world by the Serpent Society. I left them in the main meeting room." Nayara said, before waving goodbye at the man.

She made her way to Steve's bed. She took a seat next to him. She sighed, before taking off his dog tags and putting it next to him desk. "It's your world, Steve." She whispered to him, tears beginning to appear on her eyes. She removed the small handwritten letter from her back pocket and rested it next to Steve's bed.

"Oh, sorry." Peter said, entering the room. Nayara smiled back at him. "I was umm looking for you." Peter told her.

"Yeah, I was...checking on Steve." Nayara said, stepping away from the bed. "What's wrong?" Nayara asked him, looking at Peter tiredly.

"Just wondering if you wanted to go out and eat some pizza with me. To celebrate. I mean, I think they would be okay for a few minutes. I mean Thor would be looking after them." Peter told her.

Nayara let out a soft laugh. "Thor looking after them? Now that is something that really worries me." Nayara joked. "I might need a rain check on that. Umm...Barry and Kara are leaving so I wanted to say goodbye for them." Nayara told Peter. "I wouldn't be seeing them for a while." She added.

Peter nodded at her. "I understand." Peter answered. "Can I at least walk you home?" Peter asked her. Nayara nodded back at him.

"Yeah." Nayara said, smiling back at him.

Peter put his arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer to him. "Come on, smile. You just saved the entire Avengers team. You should be happy." Peter told her. But no matter how much that was true, the look that Steve had given her was still on her mind; and it was not going to go anytime soon. "So, I had a question?" Peter asked her. Nayara hummed a response. "What was that water thing that was going on? I saw what happened to that serpent man." Peter told her.

"You will be surprised, Peter." Nayara said before leaning down to kiss him on the lips. "You will be surprised." She whispered before pulling away from the kiss.

"That kiss is not going to make me forget about that." Peter told her.

Nayara smirked at him, making Peter weak on his knees. "I had to at least try." Nayara said, winking at him.

. . .

Nayara held her sweater tighter with her as she looked at the portal in front of her. She knew she had cried a lot, but nothing could contain the sadness that was increasing at the mere thought of saving goodbye to Barry and Kara.

Barry walked quietly to her. "You know...you can always come and visit. It doesn't need to be a goodbye." Barry told her. "Do you want us to stay?" Barry asked her.

Nayara shook her head. "No. Not at all. As much as I want you guys to still be around. I care for you guys so much that I'm willing to let you go. You got Iris, Team Flash, the Justice League. A whole world to protect." Nayara answered him. She gave him a sad smile. "You know, I would have loved to have met Batman, not that you guys are bad...but nothing can top off him." Nayara said before laughing. She took out the corner of her sweater and hid behind it. "I'm Batman." She said in her best Batman voice attempt.

Barry let out a chuckled shaking his head. "I'm for sure going to miss you, Nayara. You and your humor." Barry told her. "And you complaining in my hear how unsafely I fight." He quickly added, making the girl laugh.

Nayara heard a sniff and both of the heroes turned to face Kara. "What's wrong?" Nayara asked her. The blonde walked to her and pulled her to a tight hug. "You know I will miss you too. So much." Nayara whispered to her.

Kara pulled away, with tears on her eyes. "It doesn't have to be a goodbye." Emma said, walking inside the room as well. She had two bags with her.

"What do you mean?" Nayara asked her.

"I want you to go with them." Emma answered her.

"What?" Barry and Nayara said at the same time.

Nayara looked at Barry. "Like to our world? With us?" Barry asked the telepath. "Not that we are complaining because I have so much to show her." Barry quickly added.

Emma walked to Nayara, handling her the bags. She brushed the hair off the girl's face. "War is coming and I want you to be safe. I know you know which war this is. I know that you would be more than willing to fight it, but I can't let you do that. I need you to be safe." Emma whispered to Nayara. "And it pays me so much to let you go, but it is for your safety." Emma added, trying to hold back the tears. She pulled Nayara to a tight hug. "I love you, Nayara. You are my world and if you were to get hurt I would never forgive myself." Emma whispered to her.

Nayara hugged her back tightly. "I love you, Emma." Nayara whispered. "What about Logan and-" She started, growing worried about the others.

"He knows. He was glad about this decision." Emma answered her. "You care for so many people, Nayara. You have no idea how many people care for you." She added. "Now, don't go and get yourself into too much trouble. Remember about the babbling, please don't make Barry crazy." Emma joked, giving the speedster a smile. "And no fighting with super heroes. Alright? Be safe." Emma told her.

"She can come back." Barry told Emma, interrupting the goodbye. "I have a way for her to get back whenever she wants if she gets too bored." Barry joked, giving Nayara smile.

Nayara gave Emma one last hug. "Thank you for everything. I could never repay you." Nayara whispered to Emma.

"You never need to repay to family." Emma replied. "Now go on." She said, encouraging Nayara. Nayara walked to Kara and took her hand before stepping into the portal. "Please, take good care of her." Emma told Barry.

"I promise." Barry said, sending another thankful smile to Emma before passing through the portal.

Theodore closed it, seeing the silent Emma look completely broken. "She would be alright. She is a smart girl." Theodore told Emma. Emma sighed, shaking her head.

"I had to. I knew she would be in more danger if she stayed. I knew which side of the war she had taken and she would have given her life for one certain person. I'm glad she is away, now she would not know that war is more near than what we all think." Emma told Theodore.

"She told you about it." Theodore pointed out. Emma nodded.
