07 | THE ISSUE WITH KNOWLEDGE
TWO EVENTFUL MONTHS passed quickly. Too quickly for Nayara. She had started to adapt to her new world. One of the things she learned was: Manhattan was a beacon for trouble. She knew of that, but she didn't thought how it will affect her schedule to arrive to class. She had to solve and get new rotes because either, Vulture or Rhino came. Or even the simplest fight between some pose officers who had found a small amount of HYDRA agents leaving in an apartment.
It really amazed her how Peter was able to balance both school and superhero work. If she herself just was stressed enough with school. She knew it was hard to balance, which was why she will cover up Peter if he was late for class first thing in the morning, telling the teacher he felt sick or his train got stuck. She was running out of excuses, and today was one of the days she just couldn't come up with one.
"Ms.Lilly, will you tell me today why Mr.Parker is missing?" The head teacher asked her.
Nayara looked at him with big eyes, trying to form an answer. However she got distracted when she saw something coming towards the school. A body passed through the window, and landed in the desks in front of Nayara.
Nayara looked down at the boy in the Spider suit. "Really?" Nayara whispered to him.
"Not now." He whispered back, letting his head fall back down to the floor.
"Oh my, it's Spiderman." A girl screamed in delight.
"Shut up." Nayara screamed back, helping Spiderman up.
"I'm stuck in train." Peter told her. "Just tell them I'm stuck in a train." He told her before jumping through the hole in the window. Nayara sighed, rolling her eyes. She saw how Peter ran and shot another web at the man with wings. Nayara sighed, watching how he struggle a little before defeating him.
"Sir?" Nayara yelled the teacher. The teacher looked at her. "Peter is going to be late. He is stuck in a train." Nayara told her.
. . .
Nayara opened her locker, changing the books of her previous lessons for the ones of the next hours. Someone knocked the locker next to her, making her look up. She saw Peter Parker with a tired look. "Rough morning?" She asked him, smirking at him.
Peter sighed. "You have no idea." Peter sighed.
Nayara looked at the side of his face. "No bruise yet? I will be surprised if you don't get one. You landed pretty roughly. Not even glass?" Nayara asked him.
Peter chuckled slightly. "I am not made of glass." He told her.
"I'm just concerned. That's all." Nayara told him, turning her eyes back at her locker.
He hesitate before bring a topic he wasn't so sure to bring. "Umm...I read your article. You know, the one that you glued around the school." Peter told her, referring to the article she written two weeks ago. An old project. Now, she was focusing on finishing editing a film she was working on in addition the Peter's surprise. She knew Peter did not fully trust her - which was a total lie because Peter had seen how the unplomatic girl had helped him - and wanted to surprise him.
"Which one?" She asked him, holding her books tighter to her chest.
"Mutants Unite." He told her. Nayara sighed.
"Are you going to scowl at me for it? I just showed support for the mutant community who are being persecuted. I didn't see a problem." Nayara told him, not letting him finish his idea.
"Neither did I." Peter told her. Nayara tilted her head confused on what the boy was trying to say. "I just wanted to say that you are a good writer. Have...have you looked at any internships? Contest? I mean, you could win." Peter said to her.
Nayara shook her head. "No." She simply told him.
"You should look at the Daily Buldge. I see you reading the paper a lot." Peter commented.
"You take great pictures." Nayara told Peter. Peter's eyes widen slightly. "I know things." She told him, sending him a small smirk. If things went as they were going, Peter will soon become the Iron Spider, the CEO of Stark Industries to then work at Horizon Labs; but things could change. This also meant that Nayara was keeping an eye for the heroes' Civil War. She knew how it ended, and promised herself she would change the course of time to save the pain and destruction that Carol and the other member of the Avenger's felt after the end.
Peter looked at the locker of somebody else, playing with the lock. "Well, Stark Industries is holding up a contest." Peter told her. "You don't want to work with Tony Stark?" Peter asked her.
Nayara let out a laugh. "Nope. Working with that tin-man? I will prefer working with Hulk." Nayara told Peter. It was her own opinion, but despite that she knew he was a good man. He was misunderstood sometimes. She knew he was much more than just a simple playboy.
Peter raised an eyebrow. "Not your favorite Avenger?" Peter asked her.
Nayara smirked at him. "Nope." Nayara told him. "You want to take a guess?" Nayara asked him. Peter rested his back against the lockers, watching Nayara. He narrowed his eyes in thought.
"Me?" Peter asked her, giving her a small grin.
Nayara shook her head, trying to continue the laugh. "Are you even an Avenger?" Nayara asked him, joking with him even though she knew the answer.
Peter made a fake offended look. "You don't believe me." Peter told her.
Nayara giggled slightly. "I do. I was just teasing you." Nayara replied to him.
"Uh, so we are in that close relationship state where you can tease me." Peter asked her, giving her a big smile that made her knees go weak. She looked down at the floor and then back at his eyes.
"Maybe. I honestly didn't know we actually had a state." Nayara confessed him. Peter shrugged, shyly looking down at the floor. Nayara's cheeks blushed lightly, reading his emotions through his actions. She had got to know him all her life; and now closer than ever. "It's Captain Marvel, but she is really closely tied with Captain America." Nayara said to Peter.
He looked up to look at her, his eyes tracing every little detail of her. "They are your favorite?" Peter asked her. Nayara nodded. "I see the Captain America thing. You are right, and just. You stand for what you believe is right. Funnily enough." Peter told her.
"Why it's funny?" Nayara asked him, closing her locker and raising an eyebrow at Peter.
"I just...I guess I get to see him at first hand." Peter said, tracing back the memories of Steve Rogers. He was being honest when he saw her. Her beliefs were just exact reflections of the ones of the man himself with a mixture of some of her own.
"I did too, remember? When you kinapped me." Nayara reminded him.
"That's why the cat got your tongue?" Peter joked. Nayara nodded.
"Captain Marvel, my role model. That and Hermione Granger for sure." Nayara confessed him. "I just didn't know I will get to know her, not under those circumstances. She is prettier than I expected her to be for sure." Nayara told Peter.
"She is intimidating sometimes." Peter confessed .
Nayara started to walk away and Peter walked with her. "I think she is pretty cool. I wish I could fly like her."
"That is the power you want to have?" Peter asked, wanting to know more about what the mysterious girl thought.
Nayara shrugged. "I think it's fascinating. It's better than shooting webs from your wrist." Nayara joked. Peter groan, raising his to the ceiling as he walked. Nayara laughed, watching him do that. He looked back at her and shook her head. "I guess I kind of envy mutants to some extent. I wish I could have powers like them. Help people. You know? That's my dream, help people." Nayara told him. "Sadly, I don't have power nor good fighting abilities." Nayara told Peter.
"You have your knowledge." Peter told her.
"That isn't a power Peter." Nayara told him.
"It gives you an advantage. Doesn't it? I mean without your help and knowledge I wouldn't have been able to stop the Green Goblin nor Rhino." Peter said to her.
"You would have been able without my help. You are a smart person." Nayara said to him. Peter smiled at the compliment.
"Yeah, but you helped Nayara. It's like Captain America. He doesn't have powers." Peter told Nayara.
"He has enhanced stamina, super strength, can run faster than human can but not as fast as Quicklsilver. He kind of does." Nayara corrected him.
Peter stopped walking, standing in front of Nayara to stop her path. "Yeah, but he uses his knowledge from the war, tactics to help him." Peter told her.
"Is being able to make great inspiring speeches a power?" Nayara joked. Peter shook his head.
"Nayara, my point is...you don't need powers. You can use your knowledge." Peter told her. "I wish I could be as knowledgeble as you." Peter told her.
Nayara's eyes died down. "No you don't. You really don't." Nayara mumbled.
"Hey, I-" Peter started talking but was stopped by someone calling out his name. Nayara followed his eyes down the hall seeing his group of friends. Nayara knew exactly who the red haired girl was, the love of Peter's live Mary Jane Watson. Next to her was a girl with blonde hair and tall dressed with a smart skirt and shirt, Gwen Stacy. Peter sighed, going to return his conversation with Nayara but was stopped by his friends, calling his name again.
"Go, they are calling Pete." Nayara said. She realized what she said and tried to cover it up as quickly as possible. "I mean, Peter. They calling you." Nayara said. Peter smiled lightly at her, not expecting the girl to use his nickname on him.
"You can come with us. Come on." Peter told her, taking a soft hold of her arm. He was tired of seeing the girl by herself. "They are really friendly." Peter told her.
Nayara sighed. "I have to go." Nayara told him, getting out of Peter's hold. "I have someone to meet up with in the library. Now, please go." Nayara told him. Peter hesitated before going back to his friends. Nayara sighed. She knew she could not get too involved with these characters, for she fear that she will change something in the timeline. She knew each of their fate, which made her even more anxious.
. . .
The week passed smoothly for Nayara. She was able to become friends with a girl who was in her journalism club. Her name was Carter Anneth. She was happy about having a friend, and someone at least to talk to. She was okay, being independent herself; but it felt nice to have someone other than herself to talk with.
Nayara looked down at her watch and walked to Peter's locker. She saw him on time in school, which surprised her. She took deep breath before walking to the arachnid boy. She knocked on the locker next to Peter, imitating his actions from the past weeks.
Peter looked at her and smiled. "Hey, Nayara." Peter greeted her.
"Umm...okay...so...umm." Nayara mumbled, trying to form the words in her mouth. She sighed closing her eyes. She opened them again, seeing Peter standing there waiting for her words. "Just, look at this." She said, taking out a drive from her backpack.
"What is it?" Peter asked her.
"A surprise. Umm... I have to go. N-Now." Nayara stuttered out before quickly running away, leaving the teen boy confused. Peter Parker looked at the drive, and took it with him with his next class.
He sat in the back of the class, and plugged it in his computer. Inside was one file. He opened it.
Boy, was he surprised.
The small drive contained a video that Nayara had clearly put together. Footage from his fights in the streets of Manhattan. Him being a hero. He watched it with intensity, watching own each frame blended with the background music. He chuckled, seeing how Nayara was able to create such a small film with such much power. When the video ended, Peter took it out of his computer and looked at the drive.
He took a few minutes to think over it. Over the decision he was going to make. A decision that could change his relationship with Nayara. He plugged in the drive again, accessing the website he knew.
Stark Industries
She is so going to kill me for this, Peter thought. He sighed, dragging the video to the upload button. Closing his eyes he pressed sent.
. . .
Nayara stood next to her locker with Carter. "So, how was the video?" Carter asked her. Nayara looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "The one you were working on about Spiderman." Carter told her.
"Yeah, I guess it was alright." Nayara told Carter.
"Did you send it off to the Daily Buldge or something? Nayara we talked about this. You clearly have a talent for it, and you have risked your life shooting that. I think that counts for something." Carter told her.
Nayara shrugged. "Congratulations, Nayara." A boy from her film club said.
Nayara and Carter looked at him confused. "For what?" The girl asked.
"You haven't seen the news?" The boy asked her.
"Does she look like she has?" Carter asked the boy. "What does it say?" Carter asked him.
"She won! She won!" The boy said before walking away.
Carter looked the kid walk away before turning to the Nayara who had a very confused look. "You won what?" Carter asked her.
Nayara shrugged, not knowing the answer at all. "I don't know. I have no idea what is going on." Nayara told her.
Carter looked at the television in the opposite wall. She pointed at it. "I think I know what you won." Carter told her.
Nayara looked up to it, listening to it. In the news broadcasting channel of their high school, was a picture of her next to the one of Stark Industries. "And Midtown High School should be proud! One of its student has won a internship at Stark Industries. The short film send showed great talent!" One of the students said inside the television.
"Well, I wish I had won." Another reporter said.
"I thought you didn't send anything." Carter told Nayara.
Nayara looked at her. "I didn't!" Nayara replied.
"Here is a small clip from the winner, Nayara Lilly." The other reporter said. A small clip of Nayara's video of Spiderman was shown. "It sure looks like it is taken out of an action film." The young reporter added.
"That's your video." Carter told Nayara.
"But I didn't participate on it. I didn't send it." Nayara told Carter. She sighed, knowing who had. "But I know who did. I will see you in History." Nayara told her before running off to find Peter Parker.
. . .
Nayara found Peter Parker walking down the hall. "Peter freaking Parker!" Nayara yelled down the hall. Peter sighed, knowing who the voice belonged too. He stopped walking with one of his friend and turned around. Nayara stood down the hall, arms crossed over her chest. She walked quickly towards him and he meet her up half way. "You send my film to Stark Industries!" Nayara exclaimed.
"It was great. I just wanted to help you out." Peter told her. Nayara took deep breath trying to come herself down. "This wasn't the reaction I was excepting. Well, kind of, but not fully." Peter told her.
"What were you expecting? Me falling into your arm and telling you how much I love you because of it? Because that is never going to happen." Nayara told him.
"Never?" Peter joked.
"Focus, Peter. I didn't want to because-" Nayara started, but stopped thinking over the words she was going to say. She had grown so calm around Peter that she had forgotten to watch her words. "I didn't want to be part of Stark Industries. At all. Peter, I did that as a personal project. For you." Nayara told Peter.
"I know, and I really appreciate it. I didn't know you were going to win and look." Peter said to her.
"I can't work with Tony Stark." Nayara whispered to him.
"You don't know if you are going to. There is a very very low chance you would." Peter told her. "And I know he is not your favorite but-"
"You don't understand. I can't. I just can't." Nayara told him, shaking her head.
"Why?" Peter asked her. Nayara held back her tongue. Peter noticed this and decided to push more answers from her. "What are you scare of them? You shouldn't be." Peter told her.
"I am not scare of the tin-foil man."
"Then what is it? Tell me." Peter told her with a desperate voice. A voice that broke Nayara's heart. "I want to help you. Why are you so afraid of it?" Peter told her.
"I-" Nayara held back her words again. "I can't tell you. I can't. I just can't." Nayara told him. "I'm sorry, but I can't." Nayara said her voice cracking a little. Peter was about to question her further but saw the battle within her in her eyes. Nayara shook her head and walked away from him. Peter sighed.
. . .
It was clear that Nayara was selected. A letter was sent home, and Emma Frost had received it. Nayara explained the situation to her. Emma decision? Oh, she told Nayara to go. It will have seen to suspicion that she was keeping something from Peter and opposing to meet the Avengers.
And it was the reason why she was now back in the Avenger's tower. Nayara always preferred the Avenger's mansion. Reason? It looked a little less cold and more warm. She tapped nervous her phone agaisnt her lap. Emma had driven her there and drop her off. Nayara tried to calm herself down by remembering Peter's words, You don't know if you are going to. There is a very very low chance you would.
Well, let's just say Peter jinxed it.
Tony Stark himself had walked out of the elevators and to Nayara. He stood in front of her. Nayara looked up from the nikes in front of her, and up to meet the face under the Iron Man mask. Oh, she wanted the ground to swallow her right there.
"Nayara Lilly." Tony Stark said, taking off his sunglasses. Nayara looked at without any expression. "Nice to meet you." Tony told her, taking out his hand for her to shake. She shook it. "Well, I was expecting a little more excitement. You are meeting Tony Stark himself." He told her giving her a cocky smirk.
Nayara sighed, seeing the egoistical, sarcastic, heartfelt hero. "Yeah," Nayara mumbled, nodding at him.
"No scream, no jumping up around." Tony said to her, watching her waiting for a response.
"Nothing." Nayara said. "That doesn't mean I am not fan of your work, Mr.Stark." Nayara lied. She wanted to seem polite, non-threatful, for she didn't want to be asked where she was from. She wanted to stay out of Avenger's radar. It was better than way. If not it would involve her seeing like the crazy girl from Chicago with an an accent.
"Well, people normally tend to be a little more excited when they meet an Avenger." Tony told her.
"I'm...not that big fan of the Avengers. They are alright." Nayara told him.
"More fans of mutants dressed in yellow and blue tights?" Tony asked her. Nayara lugs tighten, and Tony was able to see how her face paled slightly. He montioned her to follow him. Nayara knew where he stood when the Civil War happen. "Good article you wrote. Very pro mutant." Tony said to her. He noticed her face palled more. Nayara thought she was going to faint right there, at the thought of her being put into a weird prison due to were she stood. "Don't worry, kid. That doesn't matter. I just got curios on who you were. I'm trying to start a conversation. I see it didn't go well." Tony told her.
Nayara nodded silently at him. "I'm not much of a talker." Nayara replied to him.
"I see that." Tony said to her. "I saw the video.
"I didn't know that." Nayara told him. "I do know that now you probably learn my entire life. I wouldn't be allowed in this building if not. For safety of course. I used my common sense." Nayara told him in a quiet voice. "I didn't knew your judged it." Nayara said.
"I didn't, but I did have to see it to see to know what all the fuss is about. You see, among those who saw it was a woman who had the last say in it. She was very excited to see it was a girl who did it, and even more so when she looked at you other work. She isn't part of the advertising team, but she sure bosses them. She is Pepper Potts." Tony told her.
Nayara smiled at the mention of the woman. Tony looked at the smile that formed in her face. "I have read about her. She is pretty cool." Nayara answered him.
"Yeah, I know. She is my girlfriend." Tony told Nayara. Tony walked her through some of the halls. On her way, she passed a half opened door where she was able to see Steve Rogers with other Avengers discussing something. Tony looked over his shoulder quickly seeing the girl smile at the sight of the Avengers. "I thought you said you weren't big fan of the Avengers." Tony told her.
"I am not. That doesn't mean I am not big fan of Captain America." Nayara said to him. Tony nodded.
"I'm cooler though. Aren't I?" Tony asked her.
Nayara answered as an instict. "Nope." She answer. She sighed, seeing Tony stop walking. "I didn't meant to be disrespectful. It's just that...I like Captain America more. It doesn't mean you are cool. I just prefer Cap-Captain America." Nayara explained, avoiding to say the nickname of Steve Rogers.
"Tony! Tony!" A voice yelled across the hall. A voice Nayara knew too well. Peter turned around the corner ahead and stopped when he saw Tony and behind him was Nayara. "Oh," Peter said, connecting eyes with Nayara briefly. "Who is this?" Peter asked Tony. He saw that Nayara was not happy about it, so decided to act as if he had never met her fully knowing that she wanted to stay out of Avenger's ladar by what he had noticed of her.
"The winner of the competition. I'm taking her to see the media team. Her video was about Spiderman." Tony said, sending a wink to Peter.
"Really?" Peter asked, acting innocent. "Well, congratulations." Peter told Nayara.
"Thank you." Nayara told Peter.
"Is Spiderman your favorite?" Peter asked her, sending her a cautious wink that went unnoticed by the senior hero.
Nayara sighed, knowing that Peter was trying to tease her. "No." Nayara answered, earning a chuckle from Tony.
"Really?" Peter asked her.
"I like the one with the shield. Not the arachnid kid who swings up buildings." Nayara told Peter.
"You think Spiderman is a kid?" Tony asked her.
Nayara nodded, looking at Peter right in the eyes. Peter would be lying to himself if he didn't feel both slightly intermidated and captivated at the same time with her eyes. "Yeah, I think his voice is slightly high." Nayara answered, sending a smirk at Peter. Tony chuckled, looking at Peter.
"Oh this is very amusing." He commented. "Nayara, we must continue, please follow me. Peter, you are welcome to join us." Tony told the two of them. "You see, Peter here is on an-"
"intership." Peter answered. Nayara use her entire will power to contain a laugh. Peter noticed this, and smiled at her. "You really think that about Spiderman. Why would you make a video then?" Peter asked her, burning in his mind.
Nayara looked at him with kindness in her eyes. "Because sometimes heroes themselves have to be reminded how great they are. Specially the very underrated ones. We all have to reminded sometimes how we are all human, and we might make mistakes sometimes, but we still have power within us that help inspire people. Spiderman brings hope and amusement through the streets of Manhattan. I just...wanted to tell him how I appreciate what he does. Being a hero must not be easy." Nayara told Peter.
Peter was without words. "It did. I mean...I know it did to him." Peter told her, causing Nayara to smile.
Tony stopped in front of a door. "Now, here will be the meeting." Tony told her. Nayara nodded and entered, before sending one last smile to Peter before the door closed. Peter stood looking at the door for a few seconds before walking away. He chuckled to himself before nodding at himself listening back to Nayara's words.
. . .
Nayara loved what she did. The internship wasn't that bad, and she hadn't seen Tony Stark ever since the first day. She was leaving, when she saw a door opened. Inside she saw Steve Rogers talking to someone. Nayara recognized the face of Carol Danvers.
"What has gotten into you Steve?" Carol asked him.
"Nothing. I just remember something about my past." Steve told Carol. "I'm fine." Steve told her.
"If you say so." Carol said, turning to the door. Nayara hid behind an edge of the wall, seeing Carol walk away. Nayara looked inside the door seeing Steve hold an image of Bucky Barnes and him. Nayara saw that Bucky was younger in the image, resembling the idea of Bucky she knew from the comics.
She quietly debated what to do next. She knew Steve was hurting without a reason too. She sighed, cursing quietly at her love for Steve Rogers. She hated seeing him this sad. She knocked on the door, catching Steve's attention.
The man recognized the girl. "He is alive." Nayara told him, through her stubbled voice.
"Who?" Steve asked her.
"James Buchanan Barnes, or as you call him Bucky." Nayara said to him. Steve was about to tell her that this joke was not funny, but she continue to speak. "He goes by the name of Winter Solider now. He is practically a ghost. He works for HYDRA. After the place exploded, the one you fell from and got iced in after, that one, he survived the blast. HYDRA retrieved him and experimented on him. They gave him a pretty damn cool metallic harm and now he works as an assassin for them. He doesn't remember who he is. It's not his fault. It's because they erased his memory after he finishes a mission then puts him on ice so that...so that they could use him later on." Nayara explained to him quickly. Steve stood there, not beliving the words comming out of her mouth. "I know you don't believe me. I wouldn't believe it myself. It the truth though.
"Why are you telling me this?" Steve asked her.
"Because I hate to see you with that sad troubled depressed face on." Nayara confessed him. Her hands shook and sweated. "It's the whole truth." Nayara said.
"How-" Steve started, but was cut off by Nayara.
"How do I know? I just do, and before you ask for how long I have to tell you that I can't because it would be really difficult to explain." Nayara told him. "He is not himself anymore, but you might be able to bring him back to himself." Nayara added. "I have to go." Nayara said quickly before running off, leaving a confused and shocked Steve Rogers behind.
. . .
Nayara entered her apartment that she shared with Emma. She saw the woman hadn't arrived yet. She relaxed when she closed the door behind her. A knock on the balcony made her jump. She turned around seeing Spiderman hanging upside down.
Nayara sighed, walking to the balcony. She dropped her backpack on the couch before opening the window. The cold hair of New York made her flinch. "Come on in. You must be freezing out there." Nayara told Spiderman, letting him inside.
Peter entered the apartment and closed the balcony looking around the apartament. He took out his mask walking around the apartament. "Wow, you live here?" Peter asked her.
Nayara nodded. "With my guardian." Nayara told Peter.
Peter looked at her and nodded. "I didn't know that-" Peter started, but was cut off by Nayara.
"It's fine. She makes up a pretty great one. She was kind enough to lend me a hand while I was by myself. My parents they...disapeared." Nayara told Peter.
"Mine are dead." Peter said to her, playing with his mask. Nayara looked sadly at him even though she already knew that. "I lived with my aunt, and used to with my uncle. He passed away." Peter told her.
"I'm sorry." Nayara said to him.
"The video helped you know." Peter told her. Nayara looked at him confused. "Being a hero isn't. Sometimes I feel like a have the entire world on my shoulders." Peter explained to her.
Nayara looked at him and sat on the couch. Peter sighed, leaning on the back of the couch. "I know. I mean, I stressed enough with school and I am not even spending half of my time saving the world." Nayara said to Peter. "I don't know how you do it." Nayara whispered.
Peter gave her a bitter sweet smiles. "My uncle he once said, with great powers comes great responsibility." Peter told her. Nayara smiled, silently repeating the phrase Peter was famous for. "When I wore this mask for the first time, I knew that I had to help others. Recently I have felt like I-I couldn't really commit agaisnt this villains, or agaisnt the other Avengers." Peter confessed to her.
Nayara hesistenly put a a hand on his shoulder, even though she was dying to hold his hand. She was dying to tell him how bright future he had. How he was such an inspiration in her world, and how he was more powerful than he thought he was. She remained silent.
She gathered her words carefully, something she seemed to do every time she was about to speak. "You can't compare yourself to them. They-" Nayara.
"Are powerful." Peter said, cutting her off.
"They are all different. You are different than them, Peter. Don't compare yourself because there is nothing to compare yourself to. You are a teenager, spending most of your time trying to balance school and saving the world. I find that pretty impressive...and all heroes have tough times. You will always some days feel like you have hit rock bottom, but you got to stand up and fight either way." Nayara told him. She sighed and moved her hand to hold Peter's. "You are capable of so much, Peter. So much! You are intelligent, and quick and witty. Very witty." Nayara added. Peter chuckled at her words. "Every hero is different, and I know that I tease you about you being an Avenger. So, I am going to confess something." Nayara told him.
Peter turned to look at her. "Which is?" He asked her.
"You are my second favorite." Nayara answered him. Peter chuckled. "Steve my be my favorite, but...you are really close behind him." Nayara told him. Peter smiled at her.
"Nayara, are you home?" Both of the teens heard the voice of Emma Frost.
Nayara looked at Peter. "Go." Nayara told him.
"See you tomorrow in school." Peter said, before leaving to the balcony. Nayara saw him jump off. Nayara quickly ran outside to the balcony, and looked down seeing Peter swing by the building.
