The PoetsPub (Achievement #41 = 3 points)

We know at a basic level, the pub is just ones and noughts

It is a simple construct, the product of a clever programmer's thoughts

But surely it is more than that, somewhere we often stop and chat

Well, I know we tap a keyboard and it's in written format

Or that it is as dynamic as the word of mouth

And that sometimes your words can sit unread for a month

Sometimes for me, it can be longer

But over time my willpower has grown stronger

I have resisted the urge to shout

Or curse and pout

I think it would be nice if they added face to face

Where we could all sit together at a bar and make our case

In fact, I think this would be great

But I don't believe there's a cat's chance in hell of that happening mate

It won't make money

They want their honey

The sad reality is that in this day and age

Few people can find the time to turn a page

So, the only vision I can get is of an internet café

Where people go, to bury their heads in a laptop and stay awake by drinking coffee

F/N: This might seem like a rather negative poem, have you guys found it difficult to open up or engage in an extended conversation, develop an author-to-author relationship, or is it just me.

I'm probably old-fashioned and just want to be me, so I'm sorry I used my name backward as a pseudonym, this is something else that keeps us apart, and yes, I understand that for some this is sadly an unfortunate necessity.
