26: Together Again
Fluttering her eyes open, Achelois saw the ceiling of the hospital room. Her eyes widened at that. From what she had heard the doctor's say, she wouldn't wake up for several months, if she woke up at all. So how was she awake now? Her mind drifted back to what had happened just a little before she woke up.
"Oh", her voice was raspy. "That's right."
Achelois was talking and laughing with Gaster in the void when a bright light began to envelop the void. Achelois noticed that was being pulled away from Gaster, who watched with sad, yet happy eyes. He apparently knew what was happening.
"Hello, Achelois, the one who washes away pain", an unfamiliar voice said from all around her as soon as it was completely white and she couldn't see Gaster anymore.
"Who are you?" she asked.
"My name is Primus." A small light blue orb appeared in front of her. She was afraid to touch it, and the voice touched it. "That is my spark, young one. The very essence of my being. Each one of my children has one like it."
Achelois' eyes as she remembers the history of Cybertron that Ratchet had taught her.
"You..." she trailed off, surprised. "You're..."
Warm laughter filled the air. "Indeed, child. I am the one who created all life on Cybertron. You gave your life to save what was left of mine."
"Huh?" Achelois was confused. The laughter came again.
"Each of my children carries a little essence of me, even young Megatron. Together, they create me, though they do not know. Each time one of them dies, a small part of me dies with it. Since I cannot create new life, I have been slowly dying as this war continues to spread. You sacrificed your life for me and my creations."
"Why... why are you telling me this?" Achelois asked.
"Because there are people who need you. Whether they be from Cybertron or whether they be from Earth, they need you. I have just enough power left in me to heal you completely so you can find your friends, family, and the one you love."
Achelois let out a small gasp as she thought about Ratchet. Suddenly, there was a wave of emotion that wasn't her own. It was filled with anger towards whoever it belonged to, and there was also sadness. Extreme sadness that can only come from heartbreak.
Achelois was surprised at what happened. Primus was quick to explain. "Ah. There is one thing that I have noticed happens to others when they are in my presence. Whenever they think of someone they extremely love or care for, they are able to feel what the one they are thinking about is feeling."
"So... I can currently feel Ratchet's emotions?" Achelois asked. Primus chuckled.
"Indeed, little one. You can feel your beloved Ratchet's emotions."
"He's... really sad... and angry at himself... Why is he angry and sad?"
"He is angry because he failed to protect you. He is sad because he fears he lost you", Primus explained.
Achelois fell to her knees. "Is there any way I can comfort him...?" Suddenly she felt an overwhelming peace flow through her.
"Yes, little one. All you need to do is think about him and which emotion you want to send him", Primus answered. Achelois closed her eyes, and thought of her Ratchet. She thought of how she loved him, and how she wanted him to she was going to be okay. She sent him the same overwhelming peace that she felt, and she tried to send him all the comforting feelings she could muster. Almost instantly she felt his emotional energy change from anger and sadness, to shock, fear, and peace.
Primus chuckled. "He was not expecting you to do that. He does not even know it is you. However, it is time that I send you back to your own body. You have spent enough time in the void as is. Good luck, little one."
Achelois smiled. "Thank you, Primus."
The last thing she heard from him was "Anytime, little one."
Achelois clutched her head as she remembered what happened. All she could do was hope that Ratchet was feeling better than how he had felt before. She let out a small sigh before hearing the door open, and three people came rushing in. Dahlia, June Darby, and Agent Fowler.
"You're awake!" Dahlia exclaimed as she ran to Achelois' side. "I got a call from the hospital saying that you were here, and so I grabbed Agent Fowler and June and we headed on over here. Smokey must have brought you here."
Achelois' eyes widen at the fact that the hospital called Dahlia. "Scrap", she cursed. Dahlia's eyes furrow in confusion. She was about to ask but Achelois continued. "The 'cons are tracing any signal from the Autobot companians cell phone. They can only track it when it's in use via calling or texting." Now Dahlia's eyes were wide as well as the others. Achelois continued. "We gotta get out of here."
With that, she stood up from her bed without any sign of discomfort, or pain, surprising all three of them. She was a bit surprised herself but she knew why she was able to do that. She took a step forward and almost tripped because she was not used to not having a limp in her left leg. She stared at the others in shock but in her mind, she was thanking Primus. 'He must have healed everything, not just the wound I was bleeding from.'
She looked to Dahlia. "Got any clothes that I could wear?"
Dahlia nodded. "I brought some for when you woke up. I didn't think that it would be this soon."
Achelois grinned at her, before grabbing the clothes that were offered to her. She stepped into the bathroom, and quickly changed into the jeans and t-shirt that were given to her. She was glad they were both loose and easy to move around in.
She stepped out, and looked at the others. "Let's go." With that, they exited the room, surprising a nurse who was coming in to check on Achelois. Achelois only smiled at her before quickly moving forward to allow the others out. Agent Fowler took the lead and led them to the stairs which they quickly climbed to get to the roof. Agent Fowler had mentioned that there was a helicopter waiting for them there. Achelois was the last one up the stairs, and she was the last in the helicopter. As soon as she was in, they were on their way to where Agent Fowler had learned some Autobots were meeting.
"I only know of two Autobots that are going to be there", Agent Fowler said. "Plus one human. There could be more, but there is a higher chance they are still split up."
"Which Autobots are going to be there?" Achelois asked quietly, nervously wondering if Ratchet is going to be there.
Agent Fowler didn't hear the nervousness in her voice so he answered bluntly. "Bumblebee and Ratchet."
Achelois froze, butterflies filling her stomach. She felt sick for the rest of the helicopter ride and when the Harbinger came into view with the Autobots out in the open, the butterflies increased tenfold, especially when she saw Ratchet was one of them. When the helicopter landed, Achelois turned to look at Dahlia. "Does Ratchet know I'm okay?"
Dahlia shook her head. "We haven't said anything to him, and there's been no sign of Smokescreen."
Achelois nodded softly, and watched Ratchet with scared and nervous eyes. All the Autobots and humans present were watching the helicopter, and June was the first one to get out. She immediately ran to Jack. Agent Fowler came out next, and helped Dahlia out. He stayed by the helicopter, watching Achelois with expectant eyes.
Ratchet watched Agent Fowler curiously before speaking. "Agent Fowler, who are you looking at?"
This got everyone's attention and now they were all watching the helicopter with interest. After a few moments, there was no movement from the helicopter, and Dahlia sighed before going back into the helicopter. No one could hear what she said to whoever was inside, but they all looked at Dahlia curiously when she exited.
"She's just nervous, guys. She's... scared of how you all will react." Dahlia looks back into the helicopter and nods. The helicopter quivered slightly with the movement inside it. Ratchet watched it curiously, but his spark panged when he saw the familiar brunette head.
Achelois looked around at the stunned faces all around her as she exited the helicopter. Well, everyone was shocked except for one unfamiliar face, but Achelois ignored that face. As she looked around at the faces, a single word escaped.
"Achelois?" Ratchet whispers in shock. She looks over at him with a small smile, though she was tense, and jittery, and very obviously nervous.
"Hey, Ratchet", she whispers in reply. "I missed you."
In less than five seconds, Ratchet was transformed, and his holoform was activated and he ran over to Achelois. He didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around her as tears started falling from his holoforms eyes. Achelois didn't hesitate to return the embrace, tears dripping from her eyes as well.
"Primus, I missed you so much", Ratchet whispers. "I almost didn't come here to help. I almost stayed where I was. But then I thought of you and how you would have wanted me to help. And now you're actually here." He pulled away and looked at her seriously. "You are actually here? I'm not hallucinating?"
Achelois laughed. "I'm here, Ratch. And I'm never leaving your side again."
Ratchet hugged her tightly again before whispering into her ear. "I love you."
Achelois froze at the words as a smile came to her lips, and she almost started sobbing there. "I love you too", she said through her throat that was choked with tears.
Ratchet smiled happily. He pulled away and stared at her lovingly, about to kiss her when a cough came from Jack. Achelois pulled away, blushing furiously. Ratchet's holoform was blushing too, but Ratchet didn't stay in it for much longer. He gave her a quick kiss on the forehead before his holoform disappeared and he transformed into his bipedal mode once again.
"Who is this life form that Ratchet seems to be so attached to?" the unfamiliar face asked. Achelois stiffened, instantly recognized the tone of voice. It was a strict, by the book tone of voice. 'Oh scraaaap', Achelois thought.
"My name is Achelois, sir. Achelois Sullivan, though sometimes I go by Faria Weaver. It is a pleasure to meet you." 'Might as well get on his good side now before introducing him to things he's probably never heard of.'
"I am Ultra Magnus, lieutenant to Optimus Prime", the blue and red robot with shoulder pads said. Achelois smiled at him.
"As I said before, Ultra Magnus, it is a pleasure to meet you. I am sure that Optimus will be please to hear you are on Earth."
"Achelois, is Optimus alive?" Arcee asked. Achelois nodded.
"He's weak but alive. Smokescreen found a cave to put him in before taking me to the hospital", Achelois answered. Everyone stared at her in confusion.
"How do you know that?" Ratchet asked. "You were near death. Primus, you should still be in the hospital. How are you able to be here without any injury?"
Achelois chuckles. "You answered your own question. But I'll start from the beginning." And so she did, telling them everything from the void to speaking with Primus. She left out the part about being able to feel others emotions while in the presence of Primus, she wanted to tell Ratchet that in private.
Everyone was staring at her in awe by the end. Dahlia was the first one to speak. "So Primus is the reason why you were completely healed and waking up when we arrived?"
Achelois nodded. "Yep. The best part is that he also healed my leg. So I don't have a limp anymore."
Everyone who knew her before stared at her in surprise. "Well, you certainly are a jack in the box", Wheeljack snorted. "You never know what's going to happen or when."
Achelois chuckled. "Alrighty then. Now... shall we get to the reason why we're all here? Are we going to save the planet or not?"
They went into the Harbinger and got to work. The humans couldn't do much besides create a distraction which is what they did. Jack just sent a random text in an abandoned town in Kansas, before bridging back to base. Next up was Miko, who ordered pizza while in an alley way of New York City. Achelois went to a a small town in Idaho, calling Dahlia who was somewhere in Europe. They were all bridged back before any 'cons could arrive. Next Jack fooled the 'cons into thinking an energon mine was being attacked. And then all the humans could do was wait. It was up to the bots to do the rest.
Achelois didn't listen in much, only hearing a few things here and there. She mainly kept Miko occupied, so that way there wouldn't be any more comments that could offend someone (Miko was prone to doing that). Agent Fowler had gone back to a military base, leaving us all here with the Autobots. Eventually, Miko got bored with talking with Achelois and went to annoy Jack. Achelois decided to talk to Ratchet. She walked over to him, and gently placed a hand against his leg, causing him to look down. When he saw her, he bent down to pick her up and gently place her on his shoulder.
"Hey, Ratch?" Achelois asked after a few minutes of silence.
"Yes?" Ratchet asked, slightly distracted.
"Did anything strange happen when I was in that coma?" she questioned.
Ratchet thought for a moment. He nodded. "There was one time. I was extremely angry with myself and sad that I had lost you, but after a few moments, it was replaced with feelings of comfort, and peace. It let me know that you were okay."
Achelois smiled happily. "I sent the comfort and peace. When I was in the presence of Primus, I was able to feel what someone I loved was feeling and able to send feelings to them. I didn't want you to be angry with yourself."
Ratchet stared at her in shock, surprised at what Achelois was saying. "Oh, Lois..." he murmured. "You really are too good to be true."
"Lois?" Achelois asked with a smile. Ratchet turned his head away, embarrassed.
"You're name is too long to say", he murmured. "So I shortened it. Consider it a nickname."
Achelois chuckled. "You know you can always call me Faria." Ratchet nodded.
"I know. But I want to call you by your real name, or a version of it. It truly is a beautiful name."
Achelois blushed but smiled at Ratchet. Then she leaned over and kissed his metal cheek. This time it was Ratchet's turn to be embarrassed. Ratchet was about to say something but was cut off by Ultra Magnus' voice coming through the comm-link.
"All units", he said. "Optimus Prime has returned."
Achelois smile widened as she looked over at Dahlia, whose face was filled with relief. There were several cheers from the other humans, as well as Ratchet. Achelois smiled happily.
Her family was almost back together again. Now they just had to find Smokey.
