Ace's P.O.V

I walked into the hospital with my brothers Thatch, Marco, Sabo, and Luffy. Pops joined as well because (y/n) was like a daughter to him. Shanks and Pops are business partners so our families are very close.

We found Shanks in the hallway and he turned to me. "I'm so glad you guys came. She doesn't recall anything and...she asked to see Ace?"

"Me?" I asked in confusion.

Shanks nodded and looked me in the eyes seriously. "She is a bit unstable so please be patient and gentle with her. "

I nodded and walked into the room to see the fragile (h/c) haired girl. She has grown a lot over the past 5 years despite being in the hospital and being unconscious and all that.

I walk over and sit in the chair beside her bed and she looks at me and blushes?

"Ace?"

"That's me" I smile sweetly towards her. "Heard you wanted to see me?"

"Yeah, I...wanted to ask you something."

"Ok, go for it"

She looked into my eyes as if she was trying to find the right words to say. She takes a breath and finally says...

"I forgot. Never mind. " She leaned back on her bed and stared at the ceiling in confusion. I looked at her for a few minutes before taking her hand.

"I don't know how much you remember but, I'm glad you're back. Luffy talks about you every day."

I saw her sweet smile appear and she looked at me. "I do remember you guys but anything about the accident I don't."

"I'm sure they'll come back. Want me to go get everyone else?"

"Not yet. I'm still a bit woozy from everything."

I nodded at her and respected her wish. I can't imagine how she feels or what she thinking. She doesn't even remember her own accident and none of us are entirely sure what happened but she's the only one who can figure it out.

I still remember the day we found out about her accident.

  FLASHBACK

Ace and his brothers were playing video games. Ace was so close to beating  Luffy but in the end, the younger brother won. Ace groaned and set his controller down. "I give up!"

Luffy laughed his signature laugh but was cut off when Thatch ran in with worry on his face.

Marco, Ace, Sabo, and Luffy all looked at him with the same worry.

Marco finally broke the silence. "You okay?"

"She she she...uh..." Thatch couldn't find the words to say.

"Dude, spit it out. What happened?" the freckled man stood up and walked over to his older brother.

"It's (y/n)"

Sabo stood up as well, worrying more at the mention of his best friend's name. "Thatch! What happened?!"

"She's in the hospital. In surgery. Car crash." Thatch found himself unable to breathe and sat down to process what was happening.

All the brothers thought of you as family. They've known you forever and finding out about this wrecked their brains. 

How could it be you? 

Why was it you? 

Will you be okay?

None of them knew the answer to that question.

And that's what scared them the most.
