Chapter 11
"I don't understand why you're treating Ace like this. You've known him forever." You said, walking into your home with your father trailing behind you. You two had been talking about Ace this whole time and honestly, you loved your dad but he was getting on your nerves.
"Exactly, I know how he is and I don't want him to be the one you end up with. Why can't you date Marco, or even Thatch? That way I know you're taken care of." Shanks argued back.
"Ew, dad! I like Ace, I have always liked Ace! Why can't you trust that he would take care of me? "
"Cuz I don't want to lose you again!" Shanks raised his voice. Something he has never had to do with you. "The past 5 years I spent every day wondering if I was gonna have to plan a funeral. Do you know how scary that is?! You're my baby girl and it's my job to worry about." Shanks' voice cracked as tears rolled down his face.
You had never seen your dad cry before and to be honest, you never wanted to. You hugged him tightly and hid your face in his chest.
"Dad, I will always be your little girl no matter what, but I need you to believe in me. I'm not going anywhere."
Shanks hugged you back, careful not to hurt you. "I do believe in you. I will give Ace a chance, as long as he doesn't give you another hockey."
You gasped and ran to the bathroom, looking at your neck. 'That jerk did give me a hickey! And he didn't tell me!' you thought to yourself, blushing with embarrassment.
Ace was chilling in his room when his phone started ringing. He saw you were trying to face-time him so he answered. "Miss me already?~" You glared at him through the phone.
"My dad saw the hickey you gave me!" You whisper yelled through the phone. He began to laugh at your dismay. "Glad you find this funny"
"I'm sorry" He said, wiping a tear from his eye. "Is everything okay?"
"We had a long talk. He agreed to give you a chance though. Just no more hickeys."
"No promises" Ace said with a wink.
You rolled your eyes and smiled. You couldn't stay mad at him at all. Especially with that handsome smirk on his face, and those beautiful onyx eyes. "What have you been doing since I left?"
"Just been thinking"
"About?"
"Would you ever...go for one of my brothers?"
"Ace, of course not. Not too fond of pineapples and men obsessed with their hair. Not to mention, Luffy is my precious bean, and Sabo is taken. What made you think about that?"
"Pop's was telling Marco during dinner that I 'beat him to it' "
"Weird, my dad was trying to concince me to go for him or Thatch."
"Does Shanks know about...the crash?"
"I will never tell him and It's in the past now. I love you and every part of you. Nothing can change that."
Ace's face blew up red like a strawberry as he looked at you with shock. "Y-you what?"
You blushed as well. "S-Sorry. Sometimes I forget I'm not in my coma life anymore."
You waited for a response but you were greeted with Ace hanging up the phone.
'Oh shit'
You paced around your room for about 15 minutes. "Why did I say that? He probably thinks I'm crazy. Way to go (y/n)! You just scared off the love of your life!"
Your ranting was cut off by a knock on your window. You turned around to be greeted with the man himself. You open the window for him, watching him climb in with a serious expression. "A-Ace?"
Ace grabbed your shoulders and kissed you roughly. You gasped a bit in surprise but soon melted into the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck. The kiss was filled with love and passion, making your heart flutter. Memories of your other Ace came flooding into your head, it was all becoming a reality.
Ace broke the kiss and looked down at your flushed face, gazing into your eyes. "Ace, why...what was that for?"
Ace dived into your neck, leaving hungry kisses. "Why me?"
"W-What?" You asked, trying to keep your voice steady.
Ace backed you up against the wall and started to leave a trail down your neck, talking in between each kiss.
"You could have Marco"
Kiss
"Thatch"
Kiss
"anyone better than me."
Ace stopped right in the valley of your breasts, gripping your tank top with his hands.
"Why me? I have the blood of a criminal in me. Who's to say I'm not just like him? Can you love a criminal's son?"
Hearing him talk about himself like that sparked something in you. You grabbed his face and kissed him with just as much hunger and passion. Ace kisses you back, fighting for dominance. He grabbed your thighs and lifted you up, making you lose the fight. Ace walked you to the bed without breaking the kiss, laying you on your back with him on top of you.
You broke the kiss for some air and watched him take his shirt off. "You asked me how I could love someone like you."
Ace hummed in response and lifted your shirt, leaving soft kisses along your scar. You smiled softly and rested your hands on his head. "I look at you and I don't see a criminal's son. I see a boy with a broken heart. One that I feel the need to fix. You feel like a burden but you're not Ace. I look at you and see a boy who would do anything for his family, despite losing his own. Seeing that smile of yours makes me happier than anything ever could. It doesn't matter who you come from, it's who you choose to be and I love you for the person you choose to be."
Ace stopped his actions and listened to your words. "(y/n)"
"Yeah?"
Ace gave you the smile you loved so much and kissed your forehead. "Can I stay the night?"
"Of course, you can" You adjusted yourself under your blankets as he joined you, wrapping his arms around you and snuggling you.
"I hope that old man doesn't walk in" Ace mumbled tiredly before falling asleep with you in his arms.
