Chapter 16
"Girlfriend? Really?"
"Yes, Luna." Replied to the girl.
"Margo, a name that you should not forget. Unless you already know about our history."
"Cut it out, don't take it out on my Luna."
"Your Luna, is it serious?"
"Yes, I'm very serious about her."
Margo sneered, "We will see how long this will last?"
He looked at her directly in the eye with so much tenderness, "No, she is my forever."
Luna smiled back at him, "And that's all that I want. Nothing will come in between us as long I am alive."
He kissed her hand,
"You say that now, but I will be always waiting for you, William."
"You better stop because he is stuck with me for eternity, just as he said."
"Thank you, my love." He smiled at her.
His ex stormed out as she looked at him.
"I think we did it."
"We did."
She could tell that the tension was now fully gone.
He rubbed her hand, and she realized that she had not pulled her hand back. She got up hastily, "I have to get back to my job."
He laughed, "Of course you have to."
The night finished, and Luna went home. She went into her bedroom and jumped in fear at the sight of Axel.
No, she was dreaming. This was not real. Seeing him and rolling her eyes had triggered whatever she was seeing.
Nope, he was real alright.
"What did I do?" she stuttered in fear.
"Is William your boyfriend?"
"Huh?"
"Answer." He commanded her.
She was afraid. "No, not at all. He is just a client. I was just helping him out today to fool his ex."
Luna wondered why it mattered to him. He had gone to Sienna. Why was he here? She did not want to have him back.
She should remind him of her, and it would make him snap back to Sienna.
"Sienna is beautiful and nice."
"What does she have to do with this?"
She shut her mouth, "Nothing."
He took a step towards her, and Luna took one back.
"Don't tell you're still upset."
She looked down, not wanting to lie, as that could lead to more repercussions.
"Answer me."
She tried to hold back the tears and nodded.
He sighed, "Don't move."
He took steps towards her and stayed frozen in place and now he was in front of her; he pulled her in his arms.
Luna was surprised as it was not a sexual hug, but he was offering her some comfort. Luna thought she was imagining it when he placed a kiss on the top of her head.
Luna calmed down a bit and she let him hold her, not that she had a choice in the matter. He pulled back and looked back at her as he touched her jaw.
He leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her jaw as if he was trying to take the pain away from her.
There was definitely a different side to him. He oozed some longing. She really couldn't tell what he wanted from her.
He placed a soft kiss on her lips. "Go to sleep."
She nodded, and he was out. He disappeared in front of her. Luna could breathe, but she could not forget the look that Ace had given her.
His touch had been different. It felt intimate, too intimate, as if he too was confused about his own emotions.
She wondered if Ace wanted her beyond having sex with him. Or was she yet again overthinking everything that had happened?
What was the point of him coming to see her? She shook her head, he was not worth her time.
The next few days, Ace had not come, but he was back today and with his mistresses. Luna was not afraid after the last encounter that they had.
She scanned around and found Ace's gaze. It seemed as if he was searching for hers. She looked away immediately.
Sienna came rushing in to serve them, and Ace seemed to be content and the other girls liked Sienna.
She wondered why they did not like her. What was so different from them that they didn't like her?
Luna's view was cut short as William now stood in front of her, which she did not mind.
"I have never searched for a woman as much as I searched for you."
Luna chuckled, "Really now?"
He grinned, "I mean it."
"Well, this is your lucky day, then."
"Please wait me to my table."
Luna wanted to scream. Her section was close to Sienna's, and she set the menu down and could hear Ace and the other girls.
She needed to snap out of it and not entertain them.
"What would you have to drink?"
"My girlfriend is so cold towards me." William poked fun at her.
"Let it go, let...go."
William burst out laughing.
"Excuse me, my singing is top-notch."
William nodded, "Yes, I would pay to hear it every day."
"Can you keep it down?"
Luna froze and turned to Ace immediately. "Apologies Sir."
William shook his head in disbelief. "You don't need to apologize."
"It's the policy."
"You did nothing wrong."
"The customer is always right."
William still seemed upset. "That's some bullshit."
"Don't worry, we are used to it."
"I don't care."
"Okay, let me get your drink. I will be back."
She went to get his drink and came back. Luna could tell that William was still upset at Ace's words and she wanted to put his mind at ease.
"I'm really okay William, and I'm being honest. This is nothing new for me and I can manage very well."
He sighed. "If you say so, I will take your word for it."
"Besides, I like it when you smile."
He seemed to be caught off guard by her words.
"Shouldn't you be fucking working?"
She turned to Ace once more, "I apo..................."
"No, you don't." William cut in.
Ace turned to him and Luna could tell that William had no intention of backing down.
