Chapter XIII: Dulling the Diamond pt.1
Daylight still shone, though not too much dusk was approaching. After exiting the then-closing mall, Diana Judith slung her recently bought shopping bags onto her shoulder while she checked the time on her scroll. Seeing a text from Weiss to return to the mansion quickly.
Diana: On. My. Way...
She typed quickly, before her scroll's battery life was cut short.
Diana: Shit, oh well I'll just take the subway to a station near the mansion.
She hummed to herself as she looked around, seeing the streets half as full as they would have been during the afternoon. She stepped into the nearest subway entrance and walked to a ticket booth. Seeing the ticket manager asleep on the job. She sighed in disappointment as she knocked on the glass as hard as she could, trying to wake up the man.
Man: HOLY SHIT-NICKELS!... Oh, I'm sorry miss... I kind of dozed off a few minutes ago.
Diana scoffed, handing the man a few lien. He checked it over for a moment before letting her pass. The next train could be heard off in the distance as she walked onto the almost isolating platform. Though her train of thought was halted when she saw a shadowy figure walking down the yellow line a few meters away, wearing a black hoodie with the hood itself covering the figure's face, resembling someone Diana knew almost too well.
Her blood ran cold, how in the high heavens did Y/N find her? She didn't have the time to think, only to act, she waited while the figure walked closer. She had her metallic claws at the ready just if he decided to actually cause conflict in the station.
The figure stopped, looked at her for a moment, And asked her something in a heavy German-accent, while also pulling down his hoodie.
Man: Ist zere somezing wrong Miss?
Her instincts almost told her to attack until she realized that this old man is no Y/N. She exhaled as she brought in her claws. She smiled, laughing to herself, the paranoia must've gotten into her.
Diana: Sorry sir, thought you were... my ex-boyfriend.
The man looked bewildered, he shook it off as he put his hoodie down again and began walking across the platform once more as he was doing a few minutes ago.
Diana: That freak Y/N must be getting to my head.
She giggled to herself, but suddenly she felt another person step up behind her. Hearing the obvious male sigh and chuckle to himself. A young-sounding voice.
Y/N: Must've thought that guy was me... eh?
She gasped silently. Swiftly turning around with her metallic claws out once more. She saw him, his hoodie down and his piercing e/c eyes bore into hers. She shuddered, she was alone... her phone was dead, and no Winter to help this time.
Diana's POV
I kept my stance as Y/N began to circle me.
Y/N: My my, that's some good clothing you've bought today.
Me: Why the fuck are you here? I don't want any of your offers! And I'm not coming with you!
He snickered, then grinned with evident vile wickedness present.
Y/N: *chuckles* You're gravelly mistaken Miss Judith... You see, I'm pretty pissed off about you and Snow Bitch 2.0 tying me up in a chair, I don't like. When. People. Tie. Me. Up... IN CHAIRS!
He yelled maniacally, I stepped back. That was when I heard a train coming.
Y/N: AHEM! Therefore I'm not accepting any plead of mercy or surrender from you. And when you're dead... the Schnee Dust Company is next.
The subway arrived at the station, Y/N drew the pistol that belonged to General Ironwood, it was not in Fire Dust Mode.
Y/N: I like it mostly when fights are isolated dearie, makes their screams of mercy much more pleasant to hear, to know that no one... is coming to rescue you. Like that Jaune guy...
The train's automatic doors opened, people leaned out to see what was going on between us... I grabbed his gun and pulled it out from his grip, then trying to shove him into the train, only for him to activate his semblance and let me pass through, hitting my head smack on the floor.
Man: Miss are you okay.
Me: GET OUT OF THE TRAIN NOW!
I yelled, Y/N growled and quickly leapt onto the train with me, I felt his fist slam into my cheek as people began screaming and running off the train.
Y/N: That was my favourite pistol! NOW, you've made it personal.
Please stand clear of the automatic doors.
He threw me across the train car and cracked his neck. I drew the hidden Atlesian Shock Baron I carried... similar to the one that I used to knock him out back on the shipment train. He flipped out his butterfly knife, laughing.
Y/N: Always thought it had to come down to this sometime Diana...
Me: Shut up and fight.
We both ran at each other, I swung the baton once, trying to hit him with it. He dodged, and then he tried to slash me with his knife.
Then I was able to hit him. Letting him feel the stinging sensation of the electricity as it danced throughout his body. But than he looked at me, straight in the eye, unblinking...
Y/N's POV
With the new hoodie I had 'bought' from that man the night I fought Aurora. I already knew I had to find a way to counter that dammed Shock Baton... With the silver lining of the jacket, the electricity will harmlessly flow throughout my jacket, and if that fails the kevlar-like substance will block the jolts themselves. I almost laughed when I saw Diana's terror.
Me: OHHHHH YOU THINK THAT LITTLE TRICK'S GONNA WORK ON ME AGAIN HUH!?
I pulled the baton off myself as I screamed, Diana dropped it, backing away in slight fear. I only smiled kindly as I stood back up.
Me: Love... You're a simpleton...
She gritted her teeth in fury, charging at me again. Tackling me to the ground and grabbing at my boots.
Me: Hey! I know girls like you love shoes but ain't that too much!?
I asked, pulling the knob on my watch as my foot-knife impaled her hand. She cried out on pain, holding her bleeding hand.
Diana: Y-you bastard!
Me: I'm full of tricks darling.
I said, trying to madly kick her in the shin or leg with my hidden weapon. She kicked me as I cracked the window, also denting the hull of the train car, landing on one of the passengers seats, I looked where I had landed, it was a blue seat meant for the disabled.
Me: Here you probably need this!
I quickly spoke, as I tore off the folding seat and flung it at her, she infuriatingly snarled as it hit her and she tore it in half with her extending claw weapons.
Diana: I'm gonna turn you into mincemeat!
Me: How about no?
I rolled off the chair last second as she began tearing at the hull, leaving a big hole in the side of the subway car afterwards. She breathed heavily, visibly exhausted by the fight.
Me: Give up... it's... not going to go good in your favour.
She turned at me, I swear if her eyes seemed a bit more furious, that I'd probably think she was related to Yang.
Diana: No... no no no. We're not done yet...
She breathed out.
