Chapter XII: Deceit Is An Art.
Aurora's POV
Spending 3 days trying to find that guy and nothing, I'm beginning to think that I'm literally going crazy. Even though that fight was the only time I've encountered Y/N it's probably a good idea to just rest a bit before I go out again.
Ringing the bell twice at the desk of the hotel I was staying at, the concierge stepped up and looked at me.
Concierge: Welcome back Miss Facili. Your room has been extended to another 7 days by a generous donator.
That was kind of off, well if I see that guy... I'd thank him. Especially since my parent's credit card wasn't going to last much longer. They were pretty stern about me not going off to kill the Ace of Spades. Now what am I gonna do with an extra week added to my time here?
Me: That's really kind of that person.
Concierge: Have a good time with your extended stay.
He smiled, I smiled as well and went to the elevator, I passed the hallway into a small room that connected to the first floor rooms, which was where the elevators were, though when I looked behind me a short man in a black hoodie was following me. I assumed the best and just thought he was going to a room of his own, but when I went to push the elevator button, he blocked me.
???: Allow me Miss?
He kindly asked, taking none of my alleged silence and pushing the button himself. The elevator slowly approached the ground floor as I awkwardly waited with the man. I found myself allowing him to come into the elevator with me as he waited for me to push my floor button.
Once the doors closed he began to talk.
???: Y'know how these CCTV camera's don't record sound am I right?
He asked suggestively. I responded unknowingly.
Me: Yeah I never knew that.
He then turned to face me, and I then realized that it wasn't a man but a young boy... about my age.
With h/c coloured hair and pale skin. His eyes pierced mine with a stone cold look, he than smiled.
It's him...
I didn't have the motivation to deal with him... I didn't even have the wanting ti fight him right now.
Me: What do you want, Ace of Spades?
I sighed.
Y/N: You make a little move towards me and the cameras will see it only as non-aggravated assault.
He said with a little smirk on his face.
Me: Another one of your schemes to slit my throat?
I boast sarcastically. He shook his head slowly underneath his hoodie.
Y/N: I just want to talk, to you... about Caleb.
Me: Why here? Why not form an elaborated plan to catch me off guard in the middle of the public to make an example of me or something.
The door opened, Y/N walked out as well as I.
Y/N: Because I just wanted to tell you I don't mean any harm to you. As I did Caleb.
I aggressively grabbed him by the neck and pulled him into my hotel room, Closing the door and slamming it behind me. I walked towards Y/N while he was wheezing on the floor.
Me: Oh really? Did you?
Y/N: The cameras caught you, you know that right?
He asked with a heavy breath.
Me: I don't care, talk now and I probably won't send you crashing down 7 floors of hotel.
I pouted as Y/N recovered, taking a sit in a nearby swivel chair. He pointed at the bed.
Y/N: Sit? Can we?
I huffed and plopped myself onto my bed. Y/N coughed for a moment before talking.
Y/N: I don't know how to give this to you any other way... So I'll just give this to you straight.
He proclaimed, I waited.
Y/N: Look, Aurora... is it?
I nodded.
Y/N: Caleb was a good friend of mine, he was a trustworthy dude and we got along well. I don't want to be your enemy because I didn't want to kill Caleb.
He admitted, with sorrow and regret evident in his eyes. He rubbed his own shoulder nervously.
Y/N's POV
I got her, now to reel her in some more. No... wait, she'll need a little more remorse and regret, after all she's a girl. They're regrettably spongy for that, I apologize for my lack of morality right now... but empathy is something I needed the most.
Y/N: He was a good friend, in fact. I was feeling a bit lonely at Beacon. He provided me with a social life when I needed it.
Aurora rubbed her head whilst she comprehended.
Aurora: B-but why? Why? Is the question, now how you felt about him. Why did you kill him?
This was expected... I'd already rehearsed this part in front of a mirror many... many times. Once she realizes the 'honest' truth, she'll become intrigued...
Me: Look Aurora, I'm going to tell you the honest truth. I'm an honest chivalrous boy, and I'm going to be truthful.
I said, putting my hand over hers. She tried to pull it away, but I firmly gripped.
Me: Hey, look at me... Please I just wanted to talk, I don't want to continue this pointless fight.
Aurora: Hard to believe that, I don't like when boys grab my hand like that.
I exhaled, lightening my hand. Aurora held a hand to her lips, letting me continue talking.
Aurora: Proceed, you have my attention.
Now's the centrepiece of this glorious art, the finishing touch to a masterpiece. La piece de la resistance.
Me: Ozpin killed him.
Aurora widened her eyes.
Aurora: Are you seriously telling me th-
All as expected...
I held up my arms, shaking my head rapidly as if I was told I had a donkey's tail.
Me: No no no no no no no. You have it all misunderstood!
I cry, holding up my arms in defence.
Me: I had no choice, Ozpin told Caleb about me. He let this happen. He wanted to see us, two friends fight one another in his game of chess.
Aurora slowly came to a little revelation, every second spent with lies coming out of my silver tongue only rotted her mind more and more with my propaganda.
Me: I hope you trust me... Because I trusted you outright enough to come here and trust you wouldn't kill me. I don't even have my weapons right now... see?
I asked, revealing nothing hidden across my body, not even my boot knife. Aurora sat there and nodded slowly.
Me: I tried to convince him not to fight me, I tried and tried... I couldn't reason with him, Ozpin had fed him too much fanatical influence. He fell out the window while fighting me, I tried to save him, but with Ozpin's words against mine he denied my help... That's how much Ozpin had swayed his mind.
Aurora: Ozpin...
I smirked a bit, not visible to Aurora herself, as she held both hands to her face.
Me: No need to get revenge on him, I already did.
Aurora slowly looked up at me, anger evident in her snake-like eyes. But I knew it was no longer directed at me.
Aurora: You should've let me...
She stated grimly, I saw my opportunity.
Me: How about something. I decided, I would like to recommend you to a spot in my group. How'd you like that?
Aurora looked at me, flicking out her serpent tongue. He hesitates to say it, revelled and in trust with me.
Aurora: This is... just kind of shocking for me. But... I'll trust you.
Me: Well it is against the Schnee Dust Company... not Beacon anymore... But...
I concluded, overstating to the last... all for pressure and a bit of stress on Aurora.
Me: ...Perhaps as a Faunus... You can be willingly able to... how do I say this?...contribute greatly.
I asked, holding out my hand. She shrugged, with a little smirk evident.
Aurora: I'm not exactly one of the most well behaved Faunus girls around these parts. Plus the Schnees are honestly a bunch of assholes to us so... what the heck?
She admitted with a small laugh, shaking hands with me.
