Happy Birthday Miles Edgeworth!

Summary:Phoenix decides to host a birthday party for a certain friend of his he's known since elementary school. What Apollo doesn't know is that this so called friend is Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth from the High Prosecution's Office.

Apollo was cleaning the office, getting ready for closing. It was a simple task or at least supposed to be. Considering how cluttered the office was at the Wright Anything Agency, it was hard to keep track where everything was supposed to go. At least at the Gavin Law Offices, everything was simple and tidy. All it took was just some organization, spot wiping and watering the plants. With the Wright Anything Agency, Apollo had to place all the magic stuff in their right places, organize documents, clean the toilet (Phoenix was picky about that), wash the coffeemaker, wash the kettle, water Charley the plant, pick up anything off the floor Trucy left, vacuum and wipe the windows. It was a miracle that Apollo got any clients at all.

Regardless, Apollo knew he shouldn't complain. His boss was the one that offered him a job, after his previous boss was arrested for murder that eventually turned into two murders. Also, this was Phoenix Wright, Apollo's beloved idol. Sure, Phoenix wasn't the heroic Defense Attorney Apollo imagined in his head during High School. If anything, Phoenix was the opposite of someone that was a professional Defense Attorney. Though, even Apollo couldn't deny that his boss did have a kind heart and did become a Defense Attorney to save those indict under false charges. He just was more than Apollo bargained for. He'd also be lying if he said that he didn't feel more at home in the Wright Anything Agency than the Gavin Law Offices.

While vacuuming, Apollo heard the door opening, assuming it was rather Phoenix or Trucy. He finished vacuuming over by the window before turning it off, then began wrapping the cord. Considering that the person in question didn't speak yet, he assumed it was probably Phoenix.

"You're doing a good job here, Apollo. It's been a while since I've come to a clean office everyday," Phoenix said.

"Well, someone's gotta keep a clean office, especially since this agency is going to include a law firm," Apollo said proudly, crossing his arms.

"That's true. Did you remember to clean the toilet?"

"Yes. I clean it as you instructed," Apollo replied, trying not to complain.

"That's great! A friend of mine is going to be coming here tomorrow from Germany for his birthday and I'll be hosting the party at his office," Phoenix announced.

"Wait, a friend from Germany? I thought Kristoph was the only friend you had, since... you know..."

"Did I?" Phoenix asked, looking over to the right side.

"Well, that's what it seemed like. Maybe I misheard you?" Apollo replied, feeling really confused.

"Well, your former boss was the only one to help me in proving my innocence or so he claims, but I did have other friends."

"Ah, but why didn't they help?"

"They couldn't. Maya and Pearl were spirit mediums at the Kurain Village at the time, Larry was who knows where, Detective Gumshoe was fired, Ema was studying abroad and..."

"I... think I get it. They were pretty much useless."

"Not really. Just couldn't help me prove my innocence at the time. Don't worry, I heard a certain coffee addict Prosecutor was allowed to prosecute for Gavin's case, even though he's on parole. I guess the P.I.C. decided to let him have his fun to gain back the trust from the people."

"Good to know you have friends on the other side. So, who is this friend you're hosting a party for?" Apollo asked, pressing his finger on his forehead.

"His name's Miles. I've known him, since we were in elementary school. He's kind of a sick-in-the-mud, but a very good friend and the reason I became a Defense Attorney."

"Really!? So... this friend of yours is like your inspiration or idol of some sort?" Apollo asked. It amazed him that even the Phoenix Wright had someone he looked up to and idolized like Apollo felt about his mentor, even if he was hard to read at times.

"I suppose you could say that. Though, he's kind of a jerk sometimes."

"Still, it's still awesome you're going to be hosting the person that made you into who you are," Apollo smirked, arms crossed as Phoenix laughed.

"Can't object to that. I owe him everything. Even after I was disbarred, he still had me assist him at times when he needed legal help on something."

"Hahaha, I guess you've never left law, Mr. Wright. I think it suits you anyways."

"Thanks, Apollo. Anyways, you interested in helping me out tomorrow. We'll have to close the office for the day, though."

"It's fine. It's just for the day and if this friend means that much to you, then it's worth it."

"Good. I expect you up early tomorrow morning at 5:30."

"Wait, 5 AM!? Why so early!?" Apollo asked, shocked.

"Jet lag. It's nine hours forward from California's time, so he'll be arriving at the office around 7."

"Geez!"

"HA! I know, right? He was even demanding nobody throw a party for him."

"Um... shouldn't you be doing the opposite, if he doesn't want a party?"

"HAHAHAHA! Good one, Apollo."

Apollo wasn't joking, though. Regardless, he knew he should have seen this coming. Hopefully, this wouldn't turn into a disaster and Phoenix did mean well. Maybe this Miles guy was just trying to be polite by demanding nobody throw a party for him? Apollo could never tell.

"I suppose I'll be seeing you tomorrow," Apollo said.

"You too. Here's the address for us to meet at. Be there!" Phoenix grinned as he handed Apollo a small note with the address to the meeting place.

Reading the note, Apollo asked, "wait, Mr. Wright, isn't this the..." but his boss already left. "I hate it when he does that."

Apollo decided to return back to his apartment on his bike. The location still boggled him. Why would his boss want everyone to meet at the Prosecution's Office to set up the party? He knew the address. That was the address where Apollo normally would meet Prosecutor Gavin at his office. He decided to ask his boss about this later.

The next morning at 5:30 AM, Apollo made it to the address marked on his note. He parked his bike at the visitor's parking lot where the bikes were locked up. Considering that Phoenix's bike was there too, he figured this was the right location. Though, the Prosecutor Offices never opened until 7:00, so how would Apollo even get in? There were several cars around the Visitor's Parking Lot. Apollo decided to search around for his boss.

When searching around the entrance area, he spotted Trucy, who grabbed his wrist.

"There you are, Polly! Co'mon, everyone is waiting!" Trucy cried joyfully as she dragged Apollo inside the building, which was unlocked much to his surprise.

"TRUCY!" Apollo almost screamed, being dragged into the lobby that seemed to be lacking a lot of people. "Wait, Trucy, are you sure this is the place Mr. Wright wants us to- YAH!" He was being dragged, then pushed into the elevator as Trucy punched in floor 12.

"Of course this is the right place! You think Daddy wouldn't know where Uncle Miles' office is at? It's on the 12th floor in room 1202. Same number as Gavin's office, only switched around."

"Huh? But, isn't Gavin's office 212, no... oh, I see what you're getting at."

"Exactly!"

"But wait, the 12th floor? Isn't that like one of the High Prosecutor floors?"

"That's right? This is where the best of the best Prosecutor's offices are located!" Trucy grinned, hopping up and down.

"So... wouldn't that make this Miles guy a um...?"

"Yep, a Prosecutor. Didn't Daddy tell you? Uncle Miles is one of the best Prosecutors in the country, probably the world!"

"... wow. I didn't... I mean.... isn't this guy supposed to be what inspired your father to become a Defense Attorney and he's a Prosecutor?"

"That's right! Uncle Miles actually wanted to be a Defense Attorney when him and Daddy were growing up, but...."

"Oh... I suppose I could see that," Apollo said, pressing his finger on his forehead. He did remember his foster brother having dreams like that before deciding to become a Prosecutor. He never heard much from him since moving out, but still.

"Yeah. Uncle Miles and Daddy were amazing in court! They always fought for the truth to every case they tackled. Even after Daddy was disbarred, they still were working on cases together."

"Really? Sounds like this Miles guy is a big deal."

"Yep, OH, but don't call him Miles. Only Daddy, me and other close friends can call him that. Just call him Prosecutor Edgeworth,"Trucy said, which made Apollo's face freeze.

"E... Eh... Eh..."

"I suppose Mr. Edgeworth works too. Wow Polly, you look like you're gonna turn into a Popsicle at any moment. Is that some sort of magic trick?"

"BACK UP! Edgeworth THE Prosecutor Edgeworth, Mr. Wright's greatest rival and Prosecutor that held a Guilty verdict win streak until Mr. Wright broke it!? The Prosecutor Mr. Wright defended during the murder of Robert Hammond Case!? THAT Prosecutor Edgeworth!?"

"That's right, though I wouldn't call them rivals now. They're more like best friends than rivals, since Daddy was disbarred."

"..... I'm going to be meeting Prosecutor Edgeworth... in person..." Apollo said, face sweating and body trembling nervously.

"Cool it, Polly. It's just Uncle Miles. I mean... yeah, he can be scary when you first meet him, especially when he shows that icy glare."

"G-G-G-Glare?"

"Hee hee, really Polly, Uncle Miles is really nice. He's saved Daddy so many times. If it wasn't for him... Daddy would've been all sad and alone."

"Really?" Apollo asked, now surprised. Sure, he heard of Prosecutor Edgeworth solving the Yatagaratsu Case and exposing the corruption going on in the P.I.C. Even so, he was hardly or never seen as nice.

"Yeah, Daddy took it hard when he lost his badge. He was sad and lonely. Uncle Miles was the first person to comfort him, after the News got out. He let Daddy cry on his neck scarf thing and he never does that."

"Wow. Is that why this party is a big deal to Mr. Wright?"

"That's right. Daddy owes Uncle Miles for everything he's done for him. He became like my uncle, after Daddy adopted me, since Uncle Valiant never came to see me."

"I never knew. I've heard rumors about him being terrifying, but it sounds like he's a pretty nice guy."

"He is. He is scary when you first meet him, but that's just because he has trouble expressing his feelings. Once you get to know him, he'll be more loyal to you than a German Shepard. He's not the kind of person to say please, thank you or sorry, but that's because he uses his actions to express his feelings. Like he'll help you out as his way of thanking you or degrade himself as a way of apologizing."

Apollo began understanding why his boss wanted to throw this party for Prosecutor Edgeworth, even though he demanded there'd be no party for him. Clay was the same way, always helping out Apollo without him asking. In a way, Phoenix also seemed to be the same way himself with giving Apollo a place to work. Even if Phoenix told Apollo to not throw any birthday parties, he'd still do it, but give him a party his boss would never forget. Phoenix must feel this way about Prosecutor Edgeworth.

The elevator doors opened and the duo stepped out to the hallway, which led to Prosecutor Edgeworth's Office. Apollo was utterly speechless at how massive and luxurious the office was. The Prosecutor's suit hanging up on the wall certainly proved who this Prosecutor was, if the name on the door didn't give it away. Apollo looked around, the windows, bookshelves, desk, couch, windows and chessboard. Everything was like going to Disneyland for the first time for Apollo.

"Like what you see?" Apollo heard Ema asked with her big, excited, smirky grin.

"EMA!?! You're here too!?" Apollo cried dumbfounded.

"Of course I am! Unlike the Glimmerous Fop, Mr. Edgeworth is amazing! He's got style, class and of course he's devilishly hot."

"Um... that's great, but... isn't Prosecutor Edgeworth a bit old for you?"

"So? It's not like he's got his eyes on anyone else and, even if he did, they'd be someone worthy of those eyes hee hee hee."

"Riiiiiiiiiiight. Guess Gavin will be disappointed to see you having eyes for someone ten years older than you."

"That Fop wishes he were as gorgeous and hot as Mr. Edgeworth!" Ema grinned.

"Hey Ema, think you and Trucy can take care of the decorations?" Phoenix asked Ema.

"Sure thing, Mr. Wright!" Ema replied excitedly as she joined with Trucy to set up the balloons, ribbons, couch cover and tablecloth.

"So, what can I do?" Apollo asked.

"For now, we'll be setting up the streamers," Phoenix said, gathering the colorful streamers to tape to the wall and ceiling. There was also a banner with HAPPY BIRTHDAY written in colorful letters.

"Okay boss, I'll follow your lead!"

Phoenix instructed Apollo on where to set and tape the streamers on the wall close to the ceiling. Apollo was tired, but having heard from Trucy about Miles Edgeworth, he was determined to help his boss make this party fun. It wasn't long before other people started arriving. It seemed Edgeworth was very popular.

"Hey Nick!" A woman's voice called as Phoenix turned, then smiled brightly.

"MAYA! PEARLS!" Phoenix grinned, running to the two women, giving them a bear hug. From what Apollo could tell, they were wearing strange purple clothing.

"Aunt Maya, Pearly, you came!" Trucy cried in excitement.

"You think we would miss Mr. Edgeworth's birthday?" The older woman with long black hair smirked.

"Mystic Maya and I brought the tea. We made different flavors," the younger, teenage girl with light brown hair said.

"Wow! Miles is going to love this," Phoenix said, helping the women carry the tea.

"Hey boss, who are these two?" Apollo asked.

"Oh, Apollo, these two are my former assistants back when I was still an attorney, Maya and Pearl Fey," Phoenix introduced. "This is Apollo Justice, the new addition I was telling you about."

"Mr. Justice, the guy that defended you and proved you innocent of seven years ago for that forging thing?" Pearl asked, biting her thumb nail.

"Yep."

"Please to meet you, Mr. Justice. Nick has been telling us a lot about you," Maya said, showing her smirk.

"R-Really? It's nothing special, really," Apollo said bashfully.

"But, it is! Mr. Nick hasn't been the same since losing his badge. He's starting to return back to the old Mr. Nick, thanks to you," Pearl said.

"R-Really?" Apollo asked, feeling slightly embarrassed. Sure, he did defend Phoenix and proved his innocence... two times technically, but it was all thanks to the seven year investigation he did. Any Attorney could've done it, right? Even so, there wasn't quite a difference or change, aside from expecting too much from seeing the great Defense Attorney Phoenix Wright.

"Yeah. Last year, Mr. Nick wouldn't have planned a party like this for Mr. Edgeworth. He's been pretty depressed these last seven years."

"Oh co'mon guys, it wasn't that bad," Phoenix said, but the girls responded in silence.

Apollo began wondering about this awkward silence. Trucy did say that Phoenix took his disbarment hard. Did it really change him that much? If it did, what kind of a person was Phoenix Wright as an Attorney? How much was different from what he was before losing his job? Apollo's curiosity began peeking.

"Hello everyone! I hope I'm not late!" A young man announced, who seemed to be Klavier Gavin's age, only more flamboyant and seemed to wear a blue uniform with a red jacket hanging over him like a coat. He also seemed to be wearing his prosecutor's badge on his collar compared to the others Apollo had met.

"Do I know you?" Phoenix asked.

"No, but you probably know me, Mr. Wright," a man behind the young prosecutor that Apollo remembered meeting before, but couldn't place his finger on it. He seemed to be a veteran prosecutor.

"Ah, Payne. I didn't expect you to be here, but I guess that's no surprise."

"Hee hee, I'm disappointed," Payne smirked, patting his hand on his bald head. "Detective Gumshoe told us you were hosting the party. We thought we could at least come."

"That's fine."

"Also, no hard feelings. I only prosecuted against your cases for Prosecutor Edgeworth's sake. He trusts me with any case he doesn't want to take, including those with your other friend; Butz was it?"

"Larry? Huh, I didn't know Prosecutors could do that," Phoenix said.

"I didn't know either. I mean... I guess I can see that," Apollo said. Did that mean that the Borscht Club Case was supposed to be for Prosecutor Edgeworth and if not for their friendship, he would've been facing him? Knowing that, it was enough to send shivers down his spine.

"Ah yes, we Prosecutors take pride in our work, including avoiding Conflict of Interest," The boy bragged with his smug smile, waving what looked to be like a wand. "My name is Prosecutor Sebastian Debeste by the way. Prosecutor Edgeworth tells a lot about you, though never says your name."

"Haha Phoenix Wright. Please to meet you both and no hard feelings, Mr. Payne," Phoenix grinned, shaking both their hands.

Everyone seemed to be in good spirit as they set up the extra table with food, drinks, plates, cups, plastic silverware and decorations. According to Phoenix, Edgeworth seemed to still be flying on his way to California with a Detective Gumshoe, who text Phoenix of his arrival. Apollo also met another Defense Team from the Edgeworth Law Office named Raymond Shields and Kay Faraday, who was expected to take over the law firm after her mentor Raymond. Apollo had found it interesting that Kay was both the daughter of a Prosecutor and Edgeworth's former assistant. It seemed that Phoenix wasn't the only one inspired by Edgeworth to become a Defense Attorney, though for different reasons.

Suddenly, there was a sound of a whip cracking. Everyone froze, their faces turned towards the door as a woman with a whip in one hand and a cake in the other entered the room. She showed a smug smirk.

"Move over, foolishly foolish fools!" The woman shouted, striking the whip near the feet of the group of people in front of her as everyone in her way instantly moved to the right or left to give her room to place the cake on the office table. "There, Mr. Phoenix Wright! I have perfected the birthday cake as promised!"

"Awww, I knew you cared," Phoenix grinned cooly before the woman whipped him. "OW!"

"Miles is my little brother, of course I would care! Also, I haven't seen you this high of spirits in seven years, so I figured it was not going to be an utter disaster like last year. Speaking of disasters..." The woman said, walking towards the entrance of the office, then pulling what looked to be an older man with messy hair in some sort of pink sweater?

"OW! OW! OW! OW!" The man cried in pain. "Why meeeeeeeee!~"

"You owe Miles an apology for your stupidity last year!" The woman shouted, striking her whip at the poor man.

"YEOW! HEY!" The man cried with what looked to be like alligator tears. "I'm so sorry!"

"Wait, last year? What exactly happened?" Apollo asked.

"Um... Uncle Larry, that guy over there, hosted Uncle Miles' birthday party last year at the Peach Club," Trucy said.

"Isn't that a strip club?" Apollo asked, sweat on his face. He loved parties as much as the next guy, but he was certain that someone like Prosecutor Edgeworth wouldn't go for that.

"Yep," Phoenix replied, shaking his head. "We have a saying in elementary school: when something smells..."

"It's usually the Butz," Trucy finished.

"Co'mon Nick, Edgey seemed lonely, so I thought I could have his party be somewhere where he can meet a nice girl and get la- OWEY!"Larry explained before being whipped incredibly, painfully hard.

"YOU FOOLISHLY FOOLISH FOOL OF A FOOLISH FRIEND DOING FILTHY FOOLISH THINGS! I SHOULD HAVE YOU CHARGED AND FOUND GUILTY FOR YOUR FOOLISHLY FILTHY THINGS!" The woman with the whip shouted, whipping Larry some more.

"Um... I hate to ask, but... who is the angry lady with the whip?" Apollo asked his mentor in a whisper.

"Franziska Von Karma, the daughter of Manfred Von Karma," Phoenix replied in a whisper. "Just agree with everything she says or does and you'll be fine." Apollo gulped.

Larry had been whipped so much that he passed out onto the floor, making Franziska humph and smirk, "now, I am fully satisfied."

"Geez, I hope he's okay," Kay pouted.

"He'll live. At least this party won't be a complete disaster. I haven't seen you this motivated in seven years, Mr. Phoenix Wright. I was sure you had completely given up," Franziska said as Phoenix shrugged.

"I've been hearing a lot about Phoenix being different than he was seven years ago. Was he really that different?" Apollo asked.

"Different? He was a foolishly foolish fool! Always with his ridiculous ideas that turned the courtroom into a circus! It was a complete disaster!" Franziska glared, readying her whip as Apollo flinched, taking a step back. "But... he was also stubborn, full of life. He never gave up on his clients no matter what was against him. He was a fool, but he was a devoted fool. He gave Miles a motivation to keep moving forward after losing his Guilty wins and find a new goal. I never thought the day would happen when I would see Miles no longer caring about winning, but still determined to keep moving forward. Even I almost gave up, until that foolish mentor of yours gave me a new aim to move forward after my losses."

"... you never told me that, Franziska," Phoenix said, looking genuinely shocked.

"Why do you think I hated you? Miles lost his badge about two weeks before you lost yours, but he never gave up! He still moved forward, because he thought 'what would Phoenix Wright do?' It turns out, the Phoenix Wright that never gave up suddenly gives up the moment he loses his badge!" Franziska yelled, striking her whip at Phoenix.

"OUCH! Okay, I get it, but I wasn't giving up! It wasn't like that! I had to wait. I still investigated, I even started working and making money to take care of Trucy and myself. Sure, I might've thought about giving up, I did suffer from Depression for awhile, but I wouldn't have proven my innocence if not for all of you that believed in me at my lowest. I know there was nothing you could've done to help or prevent what happened. It doesn't make me less grateful for what you did do. I truly appreciate everything you do. I just wish I could've done more," Phoenix admitted honestly.

"What do you mean, Mr. Wright? I don't think you realize it, but you inspire a lot more people than you think. I still remember the first trial I ever saw of you from the gallery. It was the Matt Engard Case. Everyone was against you and I almost lost faith in you myself, but then at the very end, you proved that regardless what kind of client you were defending, you were still honest and true. It taught me what it meant to be a real Defense Attorney. Sometimes... we don't always get innocent clients. It doesn't mean we should leave them without a fair defense. Even the guilty deserve a fair trial in order to find the truth. If the truth is lost, then how is that atrial fair?" Apollo said.

"He's right, you know? Because of you, I was able to become the Master of the Spirit Medium technique," Maya agreed.

"You taught me that I can make Maya happy on my own by just being there for her. Looking back, I realize how silly it was for me to think hooking you up with her would bring her happiness hee hee hee," Pearl said, pink dusting her cheeks.

"You saved my sister and I, even showed me why it's important for a detective to always find clues and evidence for both the Defense and Prosecution. I believe both teams can work together to find the truth regardless of what side they're on," Ema stated.

"You also brought back trust to the Defense Attorneys," Winston Payne said. "I've known you, since you were the pathetic college student in love, wearing that ridiculous pink sweater. I didn't think someone like you would survive law. You not only proved me wrong, but you showed what it means to be loyal to your client till the end. I've only met three other Defense Attorneys like that, besides you. It's a shame what happened seven years ago. The Judge misses your antics."

"Guys..." Phoenix muttered as Apollo crossed his arms, smirking.

"You've already proven your innocence. I think it's time you returned back to law. It's clear everyone misses you, even Payne of all people," Apollo suggested.

"He's right, you know? I'm going to retire soon, but I'd like to have one more trial with you before I do so," Payne smirked, patting his head.

"Hehe sure. Actually, I do kinda miss being a Defense Attorney. I was never good at piano anyways," Phoenix grinned.

"You should, Daddy. Who knows? I might even take the Bar Examine myself someday. Since the Agency is a law firm, I'm going to need to educate myself as much as I can," Trucy said.

"Actually, I'll be hiring a new recruit, but you can do whatever makes you happy, Sweety."

"Aww Daddy."

Suddenly, Phoenix's phone buzzed and he looked at the phone. His eyes bugged out, then said, "Miles is at the stairs. Hurry, hide and turn off the lights!"

Everyone searched, then found a place to duck behind as Trucy turned off the lights. Most of the crowd ducked behind the desk and two were behind the bookshelves. Apollo was behind the couch along with Trucy and Ema. Since Edgeworth was climbing twelve flights of stairs, it took some time for him to arrive in the hallway. Phoenix would whisper when Edgeworth left the stairwell. Gumshoe seemed to know how to text where Edgeworth wasn't looking. It was that or he didn't pay attention much to his detective when he was on his phone.

Apollo felt his hands sweating as he heard footsteps in the hallway coming closer and closer. Suddenly, he heard the key turn, unlocking the door. Trucy had remembered to lock the door before Edgeworth arrived. Phoenix had used the master key to unlock Edgeworth's office from the receptionist. Then, Apollo watched as the doorknob slowly turned, the door opening and the light from the hallway entering inside the room. Apollo felt himself bite his bottom lip as he watched Prosecutor Edgeworth enter inside, turning on the lights as Larry's unconscious body came into his view. Apollo felt scared now; he completely forgot about the guy Franziska whipped unconscious.

"Ooooh, whip me harder~" Larry moaned as he began waking up from the light.

"LARRY!?!" Edgeworth almost scream as Apollo heard Trucy chuckling. Was this purposely intended.

"Wha...?"

"SURPRISE!!" Everyone shouted as Edgeworth jumped back, not knowing how to respond until he glared at the detective with him.

"Detective, I told you to tell everyone I didn't want a party!" Edgeworth complained.

"I did sir, but..." Detective Gumshoe said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Aww, co'mon Miles, I thought you knew me already," Phoenix teased, grinning as Edgeworth's glare ceased, then humphed.

"Of course. I should have expected you'd be involved in all of this. The moment someone tells you no, you do the exact opposite," Edgeworth said, glaring that icy glare at him during the last five words.

"Co'mon, Mr. Edgeworth, don't be a spoiled sport. Nick planned and made all of this for you. The least you can do is say 'thank you,'" Maya glared, showing a puffy face.

"Now, we all know that won't happen," Phoenix laughed as Edgeworth's glare grew deeper.

"Mr. Wright, I think you're making him more angry," Apollo said nervously.

"Don't worry about it, Polly. It's just his pride," Trucy whispered as Apollo responded glumly.

"Hey, stop with the icy glare. It's your birthday! It's the time to have cake, play games and open presents. I even wrapped yours with birthday wrapping paper this time!" Kay grinned.

'Isn't that what you're supposed to wrap birthday gifts in? What was she originally wrapping them in, Newspaper?' Apollo thought in his head.

"Oh yes, so you did. That's good," Edgeworth replied, his glare ceasing and looking more deadpan. "I suppose it can't be helped. I didn't expect Phoenix to listen anyways. I'm surprised you got Franziska involved."

"He made me in charge of the cake and to keep an eye on the foolish fool of an idiot," Franziska smirked, cracking her whip right at Larry's feet.

"YEOW!" Larry cried.

"It is an improvement from last year, especially with inviting my colleagues this time," Edgeworth smirked.

"Of course I'd be happy to come to any of my colleagues' birthday parties," Sebastian bragged smugly.

"Actually, I requested Detective Gumshoe to invite anyone he knows that are close with you," Phoenix explained.

"Um... this isn't going to effect my salary, is it?" Gumshoe asked pouty.

"... we'll see. I don't really have that much to do, so I suppose I might as well at least have some cake and tea. This... is appreciated," Edgeworth said, crossing his arms.

"Aww thanks. Say, I don't think you've met Apollo yet," Phoenix grinned, making Apollo feel more nervous and freeze like a Popsicle.

"Ah yes, the new attorney you're taking in," Edgeworth said, looking directly at Apollo and smiling. "I watched you from the gallery during the Vera Misham Case. You did a fantastic job and I have to thank you for proving Wright's innocence."

"Huh? Oh, you're welcome hehe," Apollo replied bashfully.

"Hm," Edgeworth replied with a small smirk.

"Wow Polly, Uncle Miles never says 'thank you,'" Trucy gasped, her hand to her mouth. She then grinned.

"I-I think you said that. What does that mean, though?" Apollo asked nervously.

"Hehehe it means that nothing in his pockets or powers is enough to show how thankful he is of what you did," Ema smirked with a grin.

"Wait, seriously!? But, isn't he like.... mega rich?"

"Doesn't matter. When Mr. Wright lost his badge, it was at the same time that Mr. Edgeworth was in hot waters with the P.I.C. In fact, he even quite his job for several days, because he was being prevented from investigating a murder that involved an Auction Black Market. It took him almost six months for him to resurface from that with all the rumors and controversies circulating around the P.I.C. Because of that, Mr. Edgeworth couldn't save Mr. Wright from disbarment and I heard he's been blaming himself for that. Seeing you out there proving Mr. Wright's innocence gave him some hope. He might even be able to help Mr. Wright reclaim his Attorney's Badge again."

"That's great. Though, I mean... I kinda feel nervous that he thinks that way of me."

"You should be lucky. Anyways, let's have some cake!" Ema grinned excitedly.

"On it!"

A/N: Just something I thought was cute. We don't know when Edgeworth's birthday is, so I will let you decide. Also, I kinda wanted to see Apollo meet all of the old cast from the Phoenix Wright trilogy. Since Godot is still in jail, I figured I'd give him an honorable mention. Also, forgive me for the chapter title pic on the top. I couldn't find a lot of Happy Birthday Miles Edgeworth pics from Google. I hope you enjoy!
