Chapter 68
"Don't pick her up too much."
That had been Seokjin at one month after Soyeon. He would warn his alpha and anyone else that would randomly just pick Soyeon up, not to, especially when she was quiet. She was easier to deal with that way, and Jin didn't want her developing a habit of crying or fussing whenever she was placed down to be on her own.
But everyone just wanted to hold her in their arms. She was irresistible, like Yoongi often put it, and it was almost impossible not to want her with you. Namjoon in particular could never stay away. Soyeon was his absolute princess, his little angel, and often than not, Namjoon found himself with her. He couldn't get over how small and beautiful she was. He surely took more of Seokjin's genes, with beautiful eyes, and smooth skin. She had such round cheeks, and a cute button nose that stayed above her little lips. She was so adorable, and other than Jin, Namjoon didn't think he had ever loved someone like he did his daughter.
He cherished her, and even times when he would get off work late and she would be asleep? A kiss on her forehead wasn't enough for him, he needed to hold her in his arms, and watch her with a fond smile as she scrunched her nose in her sleep, or cutely flail her arms. It was one of the many sights of his daughter that were forever engraved in his mind. The first of many.
Seokjin had come to accept that his alpha couldn't help himself, and that their daughter was a bundle of cuteness that was indeed irresistible, and asking people not to baby her too much, was a useless task.
Thankfully Soyeon wasn't much of a fuss, at least when someone was around she wasn't. The moment all signs of people left her sight, she would completely wail, even if it was for a few seconds. She dreaded being alone, and Seokjin had learned the hard way when one time he had rushed downstairs to get his phone, only to find her inconsolable. It took him a good few minutes to get it under control, and for Soyeon to fall a sleep.
Other than the attention she needed, she was a great baby. She would quietly lie in her crib and play with her toys, or with her parents.
At two months, Seokjin was getting the hang of having a baby. He was learning what exactly it entailed to be a parent, especially of an infant. The inconsistent schedule was no news to him anymore, the midnight crying, or the random morning wakes had been his and Namjoon's thing. Most times Namjoon would offer to do it, because Jin always had Soyeon for long hours of the day and he needed rest as well, but Seokjin always reasoned that Namjoon was always tired from work, and he needed to rest for another long day come next sunshine.
They worked through it, always splitting up the duties when it came to their daughter. But with time the difficult work reduced as she grew. At three and four months she was sitting, and able to balance her head. She would play around as Jin attended to other pressing issues, provided he was within an eye shot of her.
At five and six months, she was crawling, and would follow people to short distances, like from the couch to the tv, or the living to the dining or kitchen. She was absolutely elated to be learning something new, always eager to do more than she was able to. She would be a giggling mess in her cute overall as she speed crawled to Namjoon when he was home from work, or whoever walked through the doors. She would want to be swayed in the air by her father, and peppered with kisses from the man who adored her.
At eight months she was standing around with things or people. She would be clinging to Seokjin's trousers or Namjoon's legs whenever she got the chance. Phones and glasses of water weren't left within her reach anymore, lest you wanted it thrown away, or covered in spit for when she would try to eat it with her little growing teeth.
At nine months she took her first solo step. Seokjin had seen it coming, with the way she would try to reach people or things, with a slight move of his legs. The said day, Seokjin had taken one of her favorite toys and had held it out to her at a distance. Excited, she had tried to balance herself, then had taken up three steps to his Appa before she fell into his arms in giggles.
Seokjin had almost cried watching her, and how happy she was. That evening when Namjoon came home, Seokjin had made Namjoon carry the same toy and call out to her, while Jin recorded it. Needless to say, she had hurriedly taken unsteady steps to his dad, who had showered her with kisses, and awarded her with five more of the aeroplane sways.
It was such a joy to be present for her first everything, because it was firsts for them too. Like that time at eleven months, when she had abruptly said Appa in the middle of Jin and Namjoon discussing important company issues. After weeks of Namjoon specifically coaching her from her baby language, to say dad, or daddy, she had muttered Appa with her full chest while sitting in Namjoon's lap, much to the alpha's disappointment and Seokjin's excitement.
Seokjin had only tried to teach her a few words, a few times, stating that it would come naturally to her. Even he wasn't expecting Soyeon to call her first, and not Namjoon, seeing as the alpha wanted so badly for her first word to be dad. But Seokjin felt rewarded to say the least, it was a top up gift for the long hours they spent together.
True to Seokjin's word, everything came naturally to her then, she was a first learner, and by the time her little legs could run, her diction was pretty good. Despite the still present poor baby pronunciation, she spoke freely with people, on and about. It was clear she was friendly, and out going. Neither Seokjin or Namjoon knew where she had gotten such a trait. It was nothing like either of them, with such a free nature, that she would go around making friends, even with strangers, if not watched closely.
She had learnt her name, and she would state it, and greet you with a blinding smile, so that you would converse with her. Often times it was when she went out with her parents, to stores, malls or restaurant. Or when she would get a chance to go to work with daddy at the company, where she had become a celebrity. Namjoon and Seokjin had to warn her against talking to strangers, which she didn't really understand how it worked. She was a lot like Hoseok in comparison, both such rays of sunshine, with mirroring, blinding smiles. It was no doubt how they got along so well, the beta being her favorite uncle.
Soyeon was absolutely great. But oh, does every child have a defiant side to them. Now three, should was an absolute brat at times. She would on occasions put her hands on her imaginary hips, and tell Seokjin No. Or sometimes she would just stubbornly refuse and look at you in the eyes with her round cheeks.
Times like that, all it took was one glare or stern look from Namjoon, and with a pout, she would do as she was told. Namjoon was the good parent, who gave her everything, but when she started acting up, the alpha always reminded her with a hard look, that disobedience to him and Seokjin, would not be tolerated in his house, and that she needed to apologise for being bad. Seokjin found bit adorable, how the two would make up after a light scolding session.
He thought it was cute how she would be in almost tears when Namjoon told her she wasn't doing right for Appa, and how with a pout she would say I am sowwy Appa, and try to make it up with a kiss to him. He also felt like Namjoon was the best father out there, he was everything to their daughter.
Now sleeping together with his husband, Seokjin felt like he was contended, life had given him all of his wishes, and he didn't think he would want it any different. Yes, after delaying for two more years of Soyeon's arrival, they finally got married. A medium sized wedding with family and friends, all flown out to private resort in Thailand, where they spent a five days of merry making on the sandy beaches, before they separated for their honey moon in their private island.
Of course two year old Soyeon didn't get to go to the honey moon, she instead stayed with her grandparents when they flew back to Seoul, and alternated sometimes between Yoonmin, and Hoseok for her comfort purposes, but she did get included in the official wedding photos, some with her covered in cake and all
So yeah, Seokjin felt like he had gotten a lot of luck in life with everything that Namjoon and him had accomplished so far. But even all this satisfaction could always be disrupted by the tiny hand of Soyeon, knocking at their bedroom door in the early hours of the morning. Seokjin groaned sleepily, huddling closer to Namjoon's naked body, and summoning a higher power to keep him in slumber land. Namjoon brought him even closer, kissing his head that was laying on his chest, before equally grumbling as another knock sounded, a little louder.
"It's barely seven. Can't we just sleep in one day." Seokjin whined, raising his head a bit to look at Namjoon, who only smiled in his disrupted sleep. "Maybe if we ignore her, she'll go away." Namjoon suggested, bringing his omega closer.
Having a child now, they had learnt that it didn't hurt to be a little selfish sometimes. You needed to pick out time for yourself once in a while, as opposed to your immediate responsibility of a child. All they wanted was full eight hour sleep, but unfortunately that wouldn't be possible, as a faint whiny Appa sounded on the door.
"You should have known better." Seokjin said to his alpha as he pushed back the covers, rolling off the bed to get on some clothes. Namjoon, now awake, ogled his naked ass, a smirk forming on his face as he recounted last night in his head. "What?" Seokjin questioned, pulling on some boxers and a robe, before throwing some clothes at the smirking alpha.
"She is a handful, I wonder how we will handle her, together with the bun in the oven." The alpha amused, Seokjin equally finding humour at Namjoon's choice of words. "What the hell are you talking about?" He said pretending to be oblivious but still lowkey worried about his other child that wasn't in the figurative oven.
"You know we made another last night. We must have, with how many times you wanted to go." The alpha teased, pulling on a pair of sweat pants, while Seokjin blushed on the other side of the bed. "I wasn't in heat."
"Wouldn't be the first time baby."
"Shut up." Seokjin mumbled with a laugh, walking out to open the door. Soyeon was stood outside, her stuffed chicken animal by her side, while a pout rested on her lips. Jin smiled down at her, noting how she looked cute in her pajamas. "Good morning baby."
"Goo morning." She answered, still rubbing her sleepy eyes with a little fist. "Why are you up so early, did you need something baby?" Seokjin asked tenderly. She looked down at her stuffed toy, then up at Seokjin with a small smile. "Mr tickles is still as sleep, so I wanted to stay with Appa and Daddy." Seokjin looked at the stuffed toy in her hand that was clearly awake, but didn't get a chance to comment as she ducked under his arm and into the room.
"Daddy..." A small squeal followed, then little feet patting the carpet, accompanied by giggles as she ran to Namjoon. "Hello pumpkin, did you sleep well?" Namjoon asked, lifting her into his arms and gently booping their noses together. "Yeah, but Mr tickles is still a sleep, shhhh." She said, placing a little finger on her father's lips to silence him, like she wasn't just running and screaming with the sleeping stuffie seconds earlier.
Namjoon played along, pretending to be sorry while he looked at the chicken. Seokjin smiled fondly at the scene, this was every day for him, these two loves of his life.
"Did you sleep well too Daddy?"
"Umm, I slept the best?" Namjoon said after a moment of thinking, his mischievous eyes traveling to Seokjin. "Why, did you dream of something good?" She continued making small talk, while she played with his dad's eyebrows. "Yes pumpkin, I dreamt of something good."
"Will you tell me about it?" She asked getting genuinely curious. Namjoon glanced at an equally curious Jin, who had his hands crossed over his chest with a smile. "I can't tell you now, maybe in about nine months." He smirked, Seokjin playfully rolling his eyes, while Soyeon pucked up
"Nine moths?" She questioned, not paying a lot of attention to her pronunciation. "Yes sweetie, nine months. Do you know how long that is?"
She smiled cutely before shaking her head, "two days?" She asked sheepishly, both of her parents laughing at her innocence.
💜💜💜💜💜
They shared secret glances, heads tilting in different directions to share secret messages, until finally a silent conclusion was reached, bright smiles mirroring each other.
"Ummmm, babe, why don't you and Yoongi take Soyeon to that tea party she has been nagging you about." Seokjin muttered suddenly, hands rushing away to arrange the ingredients on the counter. Jimin nodded along, seemingly agreeing with his fellow omega.
They both couldn't face their alphas with the sudden request, it was one thing to send them away, but another to ask them to play dress up, and tea party with Soyeon, but that was the only thing that would ensure they stayed upstairs, or out of reach for what they were about to discuss.
"Why, we just got here, I haven't even had water yet." Yoongi grumbled going to the fridge, while Namjoon just plain out looked confused. Both couples were in the kitchen for a get together lunch that Seokjin had invited them for. Yoongi and Jimin had just arrived minutes ago, both cheerful to see the Kim's, and Soyeon of course, but now it was time for some chat time between the Omegas, and they couldn't go anywhere other than the kitchen, because they needed to make that lunch. Lord knows the alphas would burn down the house if let alone to cook.
That's right, Seokjin and Jimin were friends now, best friends almost. They had bonded easily since the moment Yoongi had brought him along to a gathering, and introduced him as his boyfriend. The Kim's had not seen it coming, but once they got over the initial surprise, and Seokjin found out Jimin was just like him, a tight friendship had been born.
Of course Jimin was worried at first that Seokjin wouldn't like him, or want to associate with him. He reasoned that the omega was beautiful, sophisticated, learned, smart, and probably well mannered, since he grew up in a good family, and married into an equally good one, if not better. He didn't think he would fit into Seokjin's group of friends, let alone acquaintances. He was the polar opposite of everything he was.
But surprisingly, Seokjin hadn't asked a single question as he brought him into a tight embrace, then pulled him aside and asked if he wanted some champagne since he looked tense. Jimin had immediately felt comfortable around him, and one thing led to another, and soon he was cooing away to Seokjin walking down the Isle, and parenting a child. It all seemed like it was yesterday, but it had been three years already. Three years since him and Yoongi got together.
"I thought we were going to do that tomorrow." Namjoon finally said as he heard Soyeon run down the hall from where she had gone to pick her shoes.
"Yeah, why do we have to play tea with her again. She puts make up on us." Yoongi complained again, taking a stool by the counter. He wasn't about to play tea again. He loved his niece, but goddamn he almost lost his left eyebrow the last time. Don't ask how it happened.
"Ok, if I told you two to go away, so we could talk about you. Would that make you feel better?" Jimin questioned with a rather amused smile for someone who was serious.
"What?" Yoongi said incredulously while Namjoon only laughed at the Omega's crudeness.
"Well Seokjin and I want to talk about some private Omega issues and we don't want you guys to hear it. So unless you two want to cook, can you guys go." Jimin finished explaining just in time for a running Soyeon to come into the kitchen. "Daddy, I got my shoes." She beamed, making grabby hands, to which Namjoon lifted her up immediately.
"That's great baby, how would like playing tea with uncle Yoongi and me now?" She smiled wide, hands going around his dad's neck. "Yes please."
"See you at lunch babe." Namjoon muttered as he pecked his Omega's lips, followed by Soyeon who gave Jin a rather cheery loud on the cheek, then one to uncle Chim, as she called him. Yoongi who was still grumbling about wanting to know what was going to be said about them, was pulled away by Namjoon who understood the weekly ritual the two Omegas had.
It was no news that the two omegas shared secrets, deep heartfelt secrets of their past. They bonded on another level, speaking of their struggles, goals and achievements. And it was not surprising that Yoongi and Namjoon popped up in those conversations occasionally. They were largely a part of their mates life, and it was inevitable that they would be mentioned.
"Are they gone?"
"Coast is clear." Jimin affirmed, with a nod, before returning swiftly into the kitchen from where he was in the hallway checking for snoopers. "So, what going on?" Seokjin finally asked, occasionally looking up from his ingredients. Jimin visibly took a deep breath before speaking.
"How does one feel when pregnant?"
Seokjin narrowed his eyes lightly at first, "Tired, strong sense of people's scent, crave weird thin-- Oh my God are you pregnant." He shouted, shushing himself up when Jimin's eyes widen.
"I don't know yet. I mean I am not sure." He spoke, a light blush coating his cheeks. "How come?" Seokjin asked once more, leading him to the chairs by the side. "I feel a lot of things now. I threw up a couple of times in the morning, and I have these irregular sleep schedules during the day, which I know is not just fatigue. I've missed my heat twice but they are always irregular, because you know, I haven't gotten my omega side back fully. So it's not much to go by, but I am certain I feel different."
"Hey, hey...deep breaths." Seokjin countered with a smile at the ranting. "If your pregnant, that's not good for the pup."
Jimin smiled a little looking down at his hands. "I don't want to get my hopes up Jin. I am so scared this is all in my head, but at the same time I don't want to loose this hope." He shook his head a little, tears welling in his eyes.
"I know Yoongi wants this so bad, he says he is fine with what we have between us, but I can tell he wants a pup so bad. I want one so bad." He smiled to himself, then to Seokjin, who had tears in his eyes as well.
"Do you want to take a test to find out?" The older of two asked, gently caressing Jimin's hands. Jimin nodded, excitement coursing through him. "But I am scared, will you take one with me?" He asked with a pout, Seokjin narrowing his eyes at him.
"But you already know I am pregnant." He whispered looking around to make sure his secret was still safe, to which Jimin giggled happily. "Just for the fun of it, at least if I am not, we can secretly celebrate for you again."
