Chapter 56
"Put me down." Seokjin announced, wiping a stray tear off his cheek. "Put me down Namjoon." He added rather angrily, squirming in the others hold. Namjoon placed him on his feet once they were in the living room, his eyes hard just like the Omega's.
Not a single word had been said once they left the restaurant. Namjoon had buckled him in a seat and angrily drove home, while Seokjin sobbed quietly in the passengers side. He couldn't believe what had just happened, and he spent the drive wondering if Hoseok was alright.
He grabbed at his locks as another tear left him. "What did you do Namjoon, what was that?" He asked facing the still agitated alpha, who furrowed his eye brows like that was the most ridiculous question he had ever heard. "What did I do?" He asked in an incredulous tone.
"Hoseok took you from home, you were suppose to be resting, and he waltzed in hear and just what?"
"I wanted to go with him, I chose to."
"Really Jin, your pregnant, your on bed rest and you just go out like its nothing?" Namjoon shouted, his anger resurfacing once more.
"Just because am on bed rest doesn't mean I can't move and you know that, am not a prisoner in this home. And don't talk to me like I was putting myself and the baby in danger, I know my limits." He seethed mirroring the others actions. He couldn't understand where all this was coming from.
Namjoon laughed humorlessly, his fingers balling up into fists. "Of course you do know what your doing, letting him touch you."
Seokjin narrowed his eyes at the other, "what are you talking about?"
"Oh, now you don't know. HOW YOU LET HIM HUG YOU, KISS YOU." Namjoon thundered, getting closer and scaring the other, his pheromones were flaring, slightly choking the omega.
What really was he trying to insinuate here. Of course Hoseok hugged him, and kissed his cheeks often, he was his best friend, and they never shied away from affection ever since they found out they were roommates in college. And Namjoon. . . the alpha had never had a problem with it, he was possessive yes, but never once had he made a fuss about how Hoseok and him were close, because they both knew it was harmless.
"Namjoon-"
"IT WAS INNOCENT? WHERE IS THE LIMIT IN THAT HUH," he shouted angrily. "WHERE ELSE HAVE YOU LET HIM TOUCH YOU, WHAT ELSE HAVE YOU DONE WITH HIM THAT WAS INNOCE-"
...
Namjoon's words were cut short as his face flew to the side, a loud slap echoing in the room. His cheeks stung, and his ear rung with more than just the noise. A reminder of how far he was going with his words.
The omega stood with a blank face as Namjoon turned slowly to meet his gaze. Their eyes had shifted colours, both probably out of anger, although Namjoon was going crazy on the inside. The animal in him was threatening to take over him. He had just been hit by an omega.
Circumstances didn't matter, being hit by an omega was the ultimate belittling of an alpha. It was disrespectful, and one would lash out furiously, unaware the extent, or the damage they could cause their surroundings.
Namjoon red orbs met Jin in a silent question. The omega who was equally angry, his nostrils flared and his cheeks a deep hue. Although his eyes showed the hurt in them, endless tears threatening to fall. That didn't stop Namjoon from growling low in his throat, his instincts as an alpha was getting over him, and he kept a glare to remind the omega of his place.
He should have known Seokjin wasn't going to back down.
"You have some nerve accusing me of cheating on you after what you did." Seokjin said closer to the other's face. The alpha seemed to have forgotten why they were like this to begin with. He truly had some big balls opening his mouth to speak such things.
"Hobi is my best friend, and you and I both know there is nothing between him and I, you had no business starting a fight with him. He could file an assault case against you, and don't get me started on that stuff you pulled on him with security." His breathing picked as they kept their gazes.
This was the first time he was seeing Namjoon this up close for a good while, and all he was seeing was Anger, Fury and Jealousy. This wasn't the man he loved, this wasn't the man he was sworn too, and he trembled at the thought of them losing themselves, what they knew and what they believed in.
"I can't believe you would accuse me of that. . . I don't know you anymore Namjoon." His voice shook as he spoke, and he watched how Namjoon's eyes, still in red, flashed with something. He didn't wait to see what it was as he turned on his heel, moving upstairs. The alpha didn't stop him, not that Seokjin would have stopped with all the tears in his eyes.
He shut the bedroom door sliding down on it, just as a growl sounded in the house followed by sounds of glass breaking and things moving. He knew Namjoon was lashing, out of anger and frustration. Seokjin knew it was only a matter of time before it happened, considering all that had been going on. He could see the other getting pushed to the edge with each day, each snob, and each fail of his apologies. He was getting tired, or angry. Or maybe both.
Seokjin knew eventually it would be time. Even the good ones got fed up with him with time. He was complicated, petty and difficult to deal with. Although that didn't give Namjoon the right to accuse him of such. He had been nothing short of faithful to the alpha. It hurt him so much that Namjoon would speak like that, angry or not.
He buried his face between his knees as the noise down stairs continued. God he just wanted it all it to end already - their fighting. He clearly needed to take the upper hand here, try to fix this mess and get them back on their feet, because he was dying on the inside. His survival and the baby's depended on the damaged bond they shared.
It meant everything to him.
He stayed by the door a while, sobbing between his legs, his hands gripping his ears to drown the noise downstairs. Angry growls.
When it ended, he was only a whimpering mess, staring blankly at a spot in their bedroom. He refused to let them plunge any deeper than they already did, he was going to take the shot, confront Namjoon with the things he has wanted to say for the past month. He was going to lay it out to him in details.
It was possible that they would be worse after it, be he refused to live like this any longer, they were stuck with each other whether they liked it or not. Literally. They shared a bond that would harm either, or both of them if broken.
When he stood from beside the door, the sun was already beginning to set, the noise downstairs had died long ago, and his butt ached from being cramped on the floor. He carefully made his way to the bathroom, stripping off his clothes and inspecting the wound on his back. It was more of a swell than an actual wound. The skin was thankfully not torn, or badly bruised. Although it was irritated in great shades of purple and red.
He sighed as he fixed himself a quick warm bath, hoping to relieve his muscles of the ache in them. He was only fourteen weeks, but he could tell the baby was beginning to work him. He felt tired these days despite not doing anything, which meant he took more naps, and ate more too. It's all he ever did. He was sure he had gained a pound or two from all the snacking. But he didn't care, he would do anything for the baby. He only hoped he or she would be brought into the world in a happier atmosphere.
He got out of the tub, covering himself with a robe. When he walked out, Namjoon was standing on the other side of the room. Seokjin had not been expecting the alpha to come up now. "Let me check your back." The alpha said in a low groggy voice, probably from all growls he had earlier.
His appearance was improper. His button up was tucked and untucked unevenly in his now creased pants, his tie and coat long gone from the mix. Seokjin couldn't fully see his face as his damp hair covered most of it. His posture was ragged, and his bruised hands stayed limply by his side. "Don't worry about it." Seokjin said narrowing his eyes at the other.
He walked to his side of the bed oblivious to the alpha following behind him. "Let me check it, it might be serious." Namjoon said behind his ears startling Seokjin who didn't know the alpha was that close to him. Unconsciously he grabbed at his robe turning around.
They were so close that he took a step back, the alpha taking one in front of him, so that he was backed up against the wall, Namjoon crowding him. "It's only a small swell, don't worry_"
"You don't want me to touch you." It was a statement, not a question. And Seokjin heart picked as the alpha stared him down this those red orbs of his. Only then could he smell the alcohol in the other's breath.
"Namjoon-"
"Your mine, are you not?" The alpha questioned as he leaned closer, his eyes darting to the omega's lips. He seemed to be in a daze, a trance like state. Seokjin was more concerned than he was scared. He didn't think Namjoon would hurt him, or the baby, he was just taken back by this side of the alpha.
"You belong to me, don't you?" The alpha muttered again, his lips a small space from Seokjin's. The omega moved his head to the side at the last second, prompting a harsh breath from the other, who pressed himself to him impossibly close. Namjoon's face found his neck instead, and the alpha didn't wait a second before he dived nose first. Skimming at his scent glands, and licking the skin of his neck.
Seokjin had missed it, being this intimate, and he couldn't help the pur that left his mouth the instance Namjoon's lips touched his neck. "Your MINE Seokjin. MINE." The alpha growled.
Namjoon held him in place as he trailed a few kisses on his neck up to his ears where he halted before speaking. "Your bonded to me and nobody else. Nobody else can ever touch you like I do." He wasn't asking, he was telling him, but he expected an answer nonetheless.
The other waited, Seokjin who was still lost waking from his thoughts. "Your d-drunk Namjoon." He stated in a small voice, putting his hands on the alpha's chest to gently push him away, but Namjoon only raised his head slightly to look at him.
Seokjin could still smell the alcohol in his breath since they were so close, it surprisingly didn't bother him like he thought it would, given the pregnancy and all. Namjoon eyes roamed his covered body, all the way to his legs then back. "This belongs to me." He whispered, hand coming up to part the Seokjin's robe from the top, to where it was tied by the waist. His fingers played at the smooth skin gently caressing, same to his eyes glued to the omega's glowing skin, fresh and inviting. Namjoon wanted to take him, here and now. Remind him who he really belonged to. His eyes then moved to the Seokjin's side of the neck, where his mating mark laid. Maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe it was just him, but Namjoon could have sworn that it looked faded.
The usual lines weren't as visible as they were always. That bothered him more than anything.
And it did Seokjin too, well more of how the alpha was looking at him, than the actual mark itself. He wanted Namjoon too, to mark him again, join their emotions together, and maybe their bodies too, but not like this. Not with them fighting, or with Namjoon drunk or dazed, or whatever shit he was on.
He didn't get a chance to voice those thoughts as Namjoon dived on his mark, growling before kissing it. Seokjin knew the alpha had every intention of marking him again, judging by how he had his hands running down the omega's body. Seokjin didn't have the voice to speak him against it, or the strength to push him away from him.
Maybe because deep down he hoped a new marking would erase most of their worries, bring them closer like they were before. Or maybe deep down he was enjoying the alpha's hands on him. Touching him like he hadn't in a while, he was indulging in pleasure he definitely wasn't suppose to have. Not like this at least.
The alpha's hands left his chest, parting the lower side of the robe and grabbing at his thigh. He was stark naked under the clothing, and a small whimper left his throat as Namjoon hiked his thigh to the side of the alpha's hips, his hand behind Seokjin's knee as he got between his legs. It felt good, the kisses on his mark and the hands roaming his thigh, closer to his heat.
That whimper was also as a result of the fangs that were now dancing on the mark on his neck, and reality sunk to him. Namjoon was going to mark him, outside of intimacy, or rather just sex. The pain. The agony. The actual anguish that he was going to feel as a result of it.
His hands fisted the alpha's shirt on his chest. "Joon_ah." He breathed the name in a whisper, eyes tightly closed to brace himself for the pain.
It never came. The alpha ceasing all movements. It had Seokjin slowly opening his eyes to see the other's uneven breathes, a lot like his. They took a moment like that, both in each other's embrace before Namjoon slowly lowered Seokjin's leg, his feet touching the ground softly.
That nickname had snapped Namjoon out of whatever it is that he was doing, and quickly he had realised just how close he was to doing what he was good at. Hurting Seokjin.
He stepped away from the other who had loosened the grip on his shirt. Seokjin watched confused as to what just happened, one minute this, the other minute that. "I'll have them send up your dinner." The alpha said, eyes anywhere but Seokjin. The omega gripped back his robe, watching as Namjoon turned to leave.
He abruptly blurted out his thoughts that stopped the alpha in his tracks. "Your not going to mark me?" His voice was genuinely inquisitive, and Namjoon muttered a clear "No."
"Why not?" Seokjin asked without skipping a beat. "What good is it if you don't want it." Namjoon said turning to face him, his feet staggering a bit. Still drunk.
But how Seokjin wanted it. He wanted Namjoon and him joined tightly once more. Just so he could feel like themselves once again. "Am tired Jin. Of this, I really am." He gestured between them, to point out their relationship.
Seokjin felt his insides tense as Namjoon spoke. "Am tired of hurting you, of seeing you with that much pain you carry with you." Namjoon spoke in defeat. Seokjin had never seen his alpha so close to tears. "I can't stand it, and I can't stand you suffering anymore."
"Truthfully. . . The truth is that I would rather have you apart from me, than have you suffering in this manner with me." Seokjin swallowed thickly, what was the alpha saying? Was he giving up on them, was he sending him away?
"Am not going to stop you anymore, am not going to stand in the way of anything you want to do for my selfish reasons. If. . . If you want to go from me, am not going to stop you anymore. As long as your not hurting."
For a brief moment they held their gazes, Seokjin not sure he had heard that right. Namjoon was really giving up on them. He let his tears fall like Namjoon had his going. He wanted to ask him if he really was serious, but the alpha turned and walked out on him. On them.
Seokjin didn't think he could cry anymore tears. It's all he had been doing over the past weeks, he was exhausted too, but he wasn't giving up. Namjoon wasn't either right?
He was just drunk. Right?
