Chapter 5

Namjoon unknowingly drowned out the usual greetings from his employees and the respectful bows he was getting as he walked into his office. He did occasionally offer bow, flashing a quick smile to others, but was otherwise distracted with his raging thoughts of a certain omega, and his slight headache from the lack of sleep.

"Wendy?" He called as he entered his office, the lady following behind him.
"Good morning to you too." She muttered back

"Hit me." He said as he plopped down on his chair. That was code for 'what's my schedule' and Wendy smiled knowingly, clearing her throat.

"Well, you have a meeting with the board in thirty minutes, another one with Kihyun and Irene before lunch, you also have a meeting with.... Jaebum at quarter to four, he said he'll let you know the venue."

Namjoon groaned at that, Jaebum and him weren't the best of friends, scratch that, they weren't friends at all. They only reason they did business was because there fathers founded the relationship between them, their companies fed off each other, so they had to, but other than that they had nothing in common at all, Namjoon found the man too uptight, he had no room for anything, wouldn't comprise and always wanted things his way.

Wendy knew all about it, and she found it more amusing than anything.

"Is that all?

"Yeah that's all boss."

"Ok thank you then." She made to leave when the other stopped her.

"Is Seokjin in already?" He questioned, his face calm, hands already typing away. He wanted to ask more, if the chief marketer was alright, if he'd said anything regarding him at all, looked for him or anything of the sorts, but he held back, careful to not give anything away.

"He is, but he's not in his office." He raised a brow at that looking up at her. He could feel his heart beating loudly in the confines of his chest. Had he left because of him? Was he hiding down there, running from him?

"And where might he be?"

"Floor 12"

"Sales? What is he doing down there?"

"Am not sure, but I can call in and check, I can call him in too if you wish." He thought of it a second, Seokjin didn't have to attend to sales for another week. He was either too punctual, or was subtly avoiding him.

"No, that won't be necessary, just let me know when he comes in."

"Yes sir." She left right after, the alpha going back to his work.

Lunch hour rolled in soon, and Wendy came in again to inform him that Jaebum set their meeting in a restaurant down town, and that Seokjin was back from break and now in his office. He sent for him.

A mop of black hair appeared by the door away, wide intrigued eyes confusedly searching into the office before the omega brought in the rest of him. Namjoon took in the outfit he was wearing, noting how small he looked in his blue sweater, he would say cute if it didn't sound so informal.

"Sir, You called?"

Namjoon motioned him to the seat on the other side of the desk, the same one the omega had ran from the previous day. He willed himself to breath, holding back from replaying that incident in his head.

"I found out you moved to sales already, that first huh?"

"Just getting myself acquainted seeing as I will be working regularly with them, and it went absolutely smooth you shouldn't worry about a thing."

"That's good to hear, but I called for something different." He muttered, internally gauging the others reaction, but at the same time trying to stay as composed as possible. He noticed how the omega shifted in his seat, gulping and avoiding eye contact, so he decided to explain before things got weird.

"Its about yesterday." He muttered , and for a slight moment they made eye contact both trying to figure out what the other was thinking.
"Ok?" Seokjin replied, getting the alpha to take the first step to talk. It wasn't because he was dodging what was clearly coming, but he did feel a bit scared, and a little apprehensive about what the alpha would say. For all he knew he could fired this very moment.

"I would like to apologize, I didn't mean to pry into your business or be inquisitive like I was. It was horrible of me to act the way I did, it was low, and I am sorry for the kind of impression I left on you." He paused, taking in another breath, calming his nerves in front of the omega who hadn't moved a wink since. He was sorry for how he had reacted, that was low for an alpha of his caliber. He prided himself greatly in his control, and it was lacking that he had lost it so carelessly with Seokjin.

"In honesty, I am always in much better control if myself, yet for some  fweird reason I found myself on edge with you." He confessed before he knew it, wanting to take it back to not make the other uncomfortable, but unable too because it was the truth. With Seokjin, it was like a careless side of him clawed to the surface. It was like a feral side of him came out, something he was yet to understand.

He stared at the omega waiting, and Seokjin stared back his dark orbs trained on him, not intimidated a second. Namjoon liked how grounded he was, how he stood in his presence with authority, without fear, almost like a challenge.

The omega eventually flashed him a smile, looking at his lap for a second, his ears already blushed. "I think I'll share the blame on that one, I should have been more careful, it could have ended badly." He shuddered at the end and Namjoon felt a little bubble of anger inside of him at the thought of the incident occurring and having a worse outcome than it did the previous day.

"If there is anything I could do to make it better, don't hesitate to mention it, your safety is my first priority." He mentioned as he slightly leaned his upper body over the desk, this indescribable need to be close to the other taking over him.

"Thank you so much, I'll keep that in mind." He fully smiled, and Namjoon flashed his own set of dimples glad it had gone well.

They changed the topic to a lighter one on business, the alpha offering to finish their discussion from their previous day.

"You really know your numbers."  Namjoon amazed as he walked up to his mini fridge at the corner for a drink. They had been going through their work and Namjoon couldn't get over how sharp the Omega was, it was clear the other wasn't just book smart, he was experienced and skilled, and Namjoon felt proud that he had chosen right.

"I don't like to brag but sure." He tried to shrug but it came off cute instead, to Namjoon at least, the alpha letting off a smirk, making Seokjin draw off a series of laughs. He couldn't believe how comfortable they had gotten with each other in the last couple of hours, almost like they'd known each other a long time. It was like Seokjin knew how to compliment him, how to be around him, and vice versa, a weird attribute he hadn't gotten to share with anyone.

"You want anything?" he asked rolling up his sleeves, and Seokjin found his eyes rooted on his forearms, cleanly shaved, and his muscles god his muscles. He gulped. "Just water please."

Namjoon walked to him, extending out his arm to offer him the bottle on the other side of the desk. The omega unintentionally brushed his fingers with alpha's as he took the bottle, Namjoon immediately freezing in step as he felt the familiar electricity going through his arm.

He looked at Seokjin, seeing him staring back wide eyed. "Am not in heat anymore." He blurted out "I swear I don't know what that was."

"Oh thank god, I was starting to think I was going crazy." He breathed, relieved it wasn't only on his end.

"Do you know what it is?" The omega asked downing his bottle of water, he couldn't say it didn't bother him, it did, a lot. It wasn't uncomfortable, if anything it felt good actually, but at the back of his mind....

"Well, it bothered me, so, I did a little research yesterday and from my findings, we are either about to die, or our wolves are playing tricks on us,  one of us is a witch, or, your my true mate.

Seokjin choked on his water, splattering the liquid on his sweater and some on the desk. He went into a small coughing fit while the other instinctively rushed to his side, rubbing his back and patting lightly.
Namjoon extended some tissues to him.

"What, your a witch? You can tell me, I won't tell." He joked, already laughing, and Seokjin looked up not even offended as he hit the other lightly on his arm.

"Am not a witch."

"That's exactly what a witch would say." He amused again.

Seokjin felt healthy, there was no way he was about to die, his wolf might have been playing on him, but what were the chances that their wolves would choose the same time to trick them like that, and he was definitely not a witch, that only left one option, if those options were anything to go by.

The internet is a bitch.

"True mates?" He asked

"What? We could be true mates."

Seokjin scoffed at that, bubbling out a small unbelieving laugh. "Yeah right. What is this like, the eighteen hundreds?"

"I admit werewolves have gone through a lot of evolution, and the concept of true mating got lost somewhere along the way, but its not impossible to get a true mate, research shows that there a lot of signs to accompany that, you can check it out."

"What are the odds of that, that we are really true mates?" Namjoon didn't know what that was in the other's voice, if it was hope, maybe excitement, but he liked it, it oddly encouraged him.

"Even if that was true, you probably have a mate already, so, there is that..." He said, sounding almost disappointed. He wanted to add that Namjoon probably wasn't interested in him like that, that he probably wasn't even gay, or would never take a male Omega for a mate, but he held his tongue.

"Who said I have a mate?" Namjoon questioned, he sounded confused.

"The magazines, they write about the company" Seokjin replied, a matter of fact.

Namjoon pulled on a smirk. "You read about me? Seokjin realized the slip up, and he blushed, trying to downplay it. Of course he read about the youngest, hottest CEO in town. It was company magazines, and in all honesty it was for research and learning purposes, but it was always filled with the alpha, and he couldn't help it.

He was about to counter with a smart reply when the others phone buzzed.
It was his to leave for his restaurant meeting. He groaned as he moved to the other side of the desk.

"Problem?" The omega inquired.

Namjoon looked at him for a second an idea coming to his mind.

"How good are your negotiation skills?"

"Average I guess, Why?"

"We are leaving in five, I'll brief you in the car." He spoke already picking his phone to alert his driver.

"Ok, I'll just take my things." Seokjin replied, oddly excited for a first mission with the CEO. He rushed into the hallway, running into Hoseok on his way out. "Careful there sweets you might break a bone." Hoseok muttered, half worried, and half intrigued about why the other looked so excited. He placed his hands on the others waist to steady him.
"Sorry, Hobi am leaving with Mr Kim for a meeting, am in a hurry, talk later?" He wiggled out of his grasp to enter his office picking the necessary.

"Oh Ok, where is the meeting?"

"Am not sure, I'll let you know how it goes." He said back as he walked to the door where the other was standing. He leaned on his toes slightly, planting a kiss on the beta's cheek before running off, Hoseok yelling a 'text me' after him. He wondered in his head why the omega seemed so happy, suddenly so excited.

"This way, you'll ride with me." Namjoon called as they exited.

A black BMW pulled up in front and they jumped in the back seat, the driver shutting the door.

"He's an important partner of mine, he's a little, unapproachable, uptight, a little stuck up too, kind of snobby, no sense of humor whatsoever and hates mediocrity." He trailed off, the omega amused at the clear distaste he held.

"Sounds marvelous, can't wait." He muttered sarcastically, flashing a smile to the alpha who seemed apologetic.

"Don't worry, he can't do shit when am with you, plus, your my true mate,   so there is that for protecting you." He smirked, Seokjin scoffing right after. Although he wouldn't deny something about how that sounded didn't feel good to him. The alpha protecting him.

It's was clear from their arrival that Jaebum had chosen, once more, a high end, extravagant hotel for a simple meeting that wouldn't even last a few hours. Namjoon internally rolled his eyes, willing himself to calm down and not flare like the animal in him wanted to. That's just how much Jaebum irritated him.

They made inquires at the front desk before there were shown to a table at the end of room, Jaebum casually sitting on one of the chairs, sipping his preferred choice if expensive drink. He even looked outstanding amongst the rich, clearly visible in his tailored three piece Saint Laurent. Seokjin immediately felt under dressed in his sweater, a bit conscious in his simple slacks and he shifted uncomfortably in his feat, suddenly getting sweaty palms with the documents in his hands.

"Jaebum." Namjoon called, lowkey spitting it out.

"Your late." The blond muttered, not sparing a look, something that annoyed Namjoon to no limits. They rounded the table and the man finally looking up from his glass. He looked at Namjoon first, then let his eyes trail over the Omega, shamelessly gawking over every inch of him.

"Is this why your late Namjoon, another one of your whores?"

Something in Namjoon almost buckled at that, something almost snapped from those words, fingers just itching to bawl into fists to hit the man before him. How dare he disrespect Seokjin like that? How dare he disrespect his true mate?
