Chapter 45

Seokjin sat by the pool, patting his brother's back in comfort as he cried about jungkook. The beta had texted him earlier and asked if they could talk if he was free, and Seokjin had immediately agreed, texting back to let him know he was welcomed anytime. Taehyung decided to go to him as opposed to the other way round.

Seokjin prepared them a nice dinner, and they caught up with themselves, the beta always dodging questions about jungkook despite it being the reason he came in the first place. It wasn't until seokjin pulled him out to the pool area after dinner did the omega really question him.

Taehyung told him all about it, down to every last of his fears and regrets. Seokjin listened and comforted him.
"It took me a long time to get my feelings in check, and as soon as I did he gave up on us." Taehyung cried. His feet in the water had stilled, different from the previous minutes when he was swinging them back and forth, beating around the bush. It was weighing on him now, it was the first time he was talking to someone since the break up more than a month ago.

He wiped his tears smiling sadly, "I guess its kind of my fault too, I have made a lot of poor choices of late." The beta was convinced his indecisiveness played a huge role, his need to question the matters of the heart with his mind, to compare and weigh out situations costed him the relationship. But he was always like that, torn within himself even with simplest of choices, like pizza or ice cream.

He should have know he brought that with him to jungkook, questioning his feelings for the younger, if they were really in his heart or they were simply attachments he made to help him grieve his mother. "Don't beat yourself up tae." "How can I not, am a mess." He replied the omega, eyes focused on pool.

"Its fine to be a mess, this is one your firsts tae, its meant to teach you, to harden you up for more that may come in the future. Am not saying what you had with Jung kook didn't matter, obviously it did. Am just saying you shouldn't let it eat you up, learn from it instead, let it shape you in the future relationship wise." The omega said, his hand rubbing the other's arm. They had been out here a while, seokjin listening, asking him questions and advising him. Taehyung needed it.

He nodded through his tears listening to his older brother. "Your still young tae, your bound to make more mistakes, get more heartbreaks, and experience a lot in relationships. Embrace it, feel through it no matter how hard it is. I liked jungkook for you too, but we can't do anything about it if this is the way it is right?"

Taehyung turned to his brother, his puffy eyes crinkling in a smile. "Have you experienced a lot relationship wise too?" The omega chuckled. "A whole lot, highschool, college, you name it."

"Really, how was that?" Taehyung asked honestly intrigued, as far as he knew his brother's love life was almost non existent. "Honestly not much, because yoongi gave a beating to most of them, or threatened them."

"No surprise there." Taehyung commented swinging his legs now, his hands dipped into the water too, and he scooped some of it playing with it. "Well at least you got Namjoon, your so lucky. I hope I get that kind of person someday."

"You will tae, am sure of it." Seokjin thought about it a second, he and Namjoon were not perfect, but they always pulled through despite their differences. He didn't want to make this about them, this was about tae, so he shook his head bringing the glass of orange juice to his lips, usually he would prefer wine, but he wasn't feeling up to it of late.

"Have you shopped for college yet?"

"I should?" Tae asked confused, what did he need to buy? "Of course you do, you need to get some new clothes, nice shoes, you know, the things you may need. Your starting a fresh, I believe its essential you get new things."

"You just want to go shopping don't you?" He playfully narrowed his eyes at the omega. "I want to shop for you?" Seokjin tried, the beta scoffing immediately. "Yeah, right." He was leaving in a few days, accepted at Seoul university, majoring in arts. He was hoping he would get it after everything that unfolded with Jungkook. At least one thing seemed to be going right in his life.

Everyone seemed to have scattered in the past few days. Jungkook finally joining an agency- They had only smiled weakly at each other during graduation. No goodbyes, no nothing. Taehyung preferred it that way, otherwise he would have made a mess of tears on himself.

Then there was Yeri, his sister who had left earlier. She had scored a scholarship at the countries best school of pharmacy, located all the in Daegu.

Taehyung had never seen her so happy. Finally doing what she wanted to. Just like their mother, Taehyung wanted to be so deeply invested in something too, art made him happy, but it was more of hobby than something he was attached to.

"Sometimes I wish I was like Yeri." He said turning his head to look at jin. It wasn't laced with jealously, just wishful thinking. "I think sometimes we all do." The omega replied rubbing his brother's back. He smiled at the thought of her younger sister.

They talked some more, both agreeing to invite yoongi to their shopping adventure at the end of the week, to which they both laughed as they imitated the expected reaction from the alpha.

"I should go, its getting late." Taehyung said getting from the pool. "Are you sure, you could stay the night. We could watch movies."

"I would love to, but I don't want to worry dad. He isn't used to being alone especially now that Yeri is gone. Also I wouldn't want to intrude on your time with Namjoon." He winked to which seokjin groaned. Kids these days.

"How are you going?" "I'll take the bus." Taehyung stated as they walked back into the house. "At this time, that's dangerous."

"Its only eight hyung. I'll be fine."

"No please, just go with the driver, it will make me feel a lot better." Seokjin pleaded with his brother, realizing how much of a grown up he sounded like. "Fine, if it makes you feel better I'll go with driver." Taehyung smiled picking the bag on the counter that had their father's food. The omega had made sure to keep some for their father and his mate earlier when he made dinner.

"Text me when you get home OK?" The omega said hugging his brother one last time. Taehyung pulled back from the hug. "OK mum" he joked which earned him a smack up the head. They laughed about it moving to the door. "You look different." The beta said tilting his head. "How so?"

"I don't know, its just....you look, um, I don't know, its hard to pinpoint but its different." Seokjin only smiled. He didn't think he looked different, maybe felt a little different, but it was difficult to pinpoint.

"Say hi to Namjoon hyung for me." The beta said as he got into the car. Seokjin agreed waving him off. He only went back to the house when the car left the compound. He placed his glass in the sink moving upstairs for the night. He pulled out his phone from the stand checking if Namjoon had called or left a text.

The alpha had not contacted him. Seokjin sighed putting it back on the stand. He was probably still busy, seokjin couldn't wait for the after meetings to end so they could go back to how they were before the project. He missed his time with Namjoon, just them two without interruptions. Now he could only dream, the alpha telling him not to wait up and get some rest instead because he would come home late.

Seokjin changed to something comfortable before getting under the covers. He sat by the head board, going through his schedule for the next day, and doing some internet surfing before he let the laptop go.

It was already late when he finally settled for sleep, yet Namjoon had not showed. He tried not to think too much about it, it was only a meeting. Right? He wished he could back to the nights when he would have slept or waited for the alpha peacefully. Or even last week when he didn't have these worries.

But he couldn't, he had seen something he could not unsee now, or maybe he was not suppose to see at all. He didn't mean to snoop, it was right there before his eyes. It was a simple text message on the alpha's phone. Seokjin had thought it was his since he had both phones in his overall as Namjoon fixed the tennis table in the garage after they broke it when they were. . . playing tennis of course.

Seokjin had checked his phone, then the alpha's just to make sure he did hear a message. Instead he had been met with seulgi's contact, a kissy face emoji to accompany the Id. Seokjin couldn't stop his eyes as they raked over the text at the front that read;
'The other day was fun, just one more Tuesday and we are done. I promise.'

Seokjin wanted to ask so bad what it meant, he wanted to cry in the middle of the room they were stood in for the things his mind ran to. That text could have referred to anything, most probable being work. But with Seulgi he couldn't help himself. He asked the alpha anyway, what he was doing Tuesday.

'A meeting with investors.' Namjoon had replied.

Seokjin believed him.

He had no reason not to, Namjoon had only asked that one thing from him, to trust him. Believe. So he did, also because they had fought about that woman a lot, the biggest and the last one being the one back at the hotel in Europe. Seokjin didn't want to seem as the jealous possessive mate who now went through his phone and questioned his were bouts.

He had let it go, tried not to think of anything drastic and stupid, or watch the alpha's move on Tuesdays.

Now, he stilled his breathing as the door to their bedroom opened, and he feigned sleep as he felt the alpha move in. It was almost midnight, not a rare occurrence in the world of business. Sometimes work had you till those hours.

Like usual Tuesdays,  he could tell the alpha had moved to the bathroom for a shower. Not a rare occurrence in their world either. Work always had them sweatily gross and they always turned to the shower.

He wanted all these things to be normal, he wanted to convince himself that it wasn't unusual how Namjoon behaved after that trip.

Always, Namjoon would call if he would be late, he liked when Seokjin waited for him by the couch with the TV on. And usually namjoon would kiss him before anything like a shower. Even if Seokjin was a sleep.

Seokjin ignored it, it felt more like an adaptation to the kind of work environment they had with that project. Too demanding of their time. They would revert back to their usual habits once it was done. Right?

The bed dipped beside him, the alpha getting under their covers and cuddling behind him. Seokjin turned in the others arms so that they facing each other. He could make the alpha's features in the moonlight illuminating the room. "Did I wake you?" The alpha whispered and he only smiled moving closer to him. "Am glad you did, I missed you." He whispered back.

"I missed you too baby, had a long meeting."

"More investors?" Seokjin couldn't help ask, he watched the other who just hummed moving back some hair from Seokjin's face. "Well you should tell them not keep you that long, you have a mate at home." Seokjin said. It was funny how they whispered to each other like they would wake up a third person despite it being only them. Don't look at him. Namjoon started it.

"Already did baby. They won't keep me late again." The alpha smiled at him, and he mirrored it loving the embrace. They just stared at each other for a moment, before Namjoon caressed his face again and pressed his lips to the Omega's forehead. "I love you." Namjoon said in an even lower whisper, if it wasn't so quiet in the room seokjin could not have caught it.

The omega had never questioned Namjoon's love for him, even in his times of doubt. Not once. He could always feel it in his veins. But tonight he felt worried, how Namjoon's orbs were focused on his in the dark room. The alpha's eyes wasn't roaming his face like it always did. He wasn't peppering him with kisses, and his smile wasn't as huge as it always was.

Another kiss went to Seokjin's lips. Chaste and brief. "I love you so much Seokjin. Don't you forget that OK?" Namjoon whispered to him again. Seokjin watched the alpha a moment as he the other held his gaze as if waiting for a reply. Seokjin didn't think he needed to answer, of course he could never forget that. Except something was lingering in the younger's expression, something he could not decipher. One he had never seen before.

Seokjin nodded at last, then let out a small yes, shuffling closer to Namjoon who held him tightly in his arms. He only hoped whatever this was, it would be over after today.

It was the last Tuesday of the month after all.
