Another parent themed nightmare
A couple years ago, our air conditioner went out. I began sleeping on an air mattress in my parents room because they installed a window air conditioner until our main one was fixed. I was in this room when I had this nightmare.
This will be important later...
In this one, I was in a colusseum of sorts. It was in hues of gold and rose gold, and very irridescent. This has no relevance to the story, but I remember it.
On each side, there was a raised platform.
I began somewhere in the middle of the two closer to the wall on my left. I was running, chased by two people who I felt a connection too, but also was scared of. I was running toward my parents, who I felt like I hadn't seen in ages. I wanted to hug them so much, but at the same time, for some reason the thought of being near them was off-putting.
As 'memories' came to me, I realized the reason I felt I hadn't seen them was because I hadn't. I had been taken away from them, and righteously so. The people I was running from, were begging me to come back. They were my adoptive parents. They sheltered me when I had nowhere to turn. But they were evil, they had to be. I felt it. But so were my parents... I didn't know who to trust more, but I had to choose fast.
I chose my birth parents, of course, and the others faded into the background. My mother and father led me to a table of sorts on the raised platform. My father went off into a side room, while my mother sat me on the table before strapping me down. This was when I began to panic.
My father, came out of the room on the left side of my vision, holding a piece of.... is that sand paper?
He walked up to be with a sideways grin. The rubbed the piece of sand paper on my collarbone until it drew blood, and then pushed my head back into what seemed like water, but it was dark.
My vision went dark and the dream ended.
The next night I was fearful of having the same dream. Right as I was falling asleep, I heard footsteps. I looked over to my left, where the bedroom door was located, similarly to it had been in my nightmare.
And guess who walked in?
My dad.
It was terrifying.
But nothing happened.
Because, despite my dreams, I have good parents.
I love my parents.
I miss my dad.
