Accio Beta - Volunteering Beta List

How To Be a Beta?

If you want to be a Beta, then all you need to do is write a Personal Message (PM) to us and we will post your note inside this book!

We need you to write:

- a bit about you and why you want to be a Drarry Beta;

- which are your favourite Drarry tropes or contents;

- if you have any particular squirm about warnings (BDSM, character bashing, torture, blood play, Dark fic, major character death, etc.).

In this way, any author can weight if you are indeed the right choice to heal their story, and neither of you will loose time trying to undestrand that. Please, as soon you get the job, tag our profile to let us know!

How to get a Beta?

If you're looking for a Beta for your Drarry fic, you can tag the Beta inside the comments of their chapter, telling them what do you need them for (help with a description, checking for typos, grammar, spelling, a complete revision of your story, etc.)

Why Everyone Needs a Beta?

The answer is quite simple, really; everyone makes mistakes. It is extremely hard for a writer to be able to keep up with proper grammar and spelling when they are trying to write down the story before the important details slip away. Even as an English major, I still struggle with keeping everything polished and professional. Your Beta will only improve on your story, making it more readable and allowing for a new viewpoint for positive feedback!

How a Beta Helps?

A Beta will be able to catch any of those little mistakes such as improper comma usage, or even just simple spelling errors that arose from typing too quickly. Those mistakes, while small, may cause readers to feel disconnected from the story or bring them out of the world you have created. Not only this, but a Beta will be able to help you with anything you need, even advice on where to take your story or how to get it where you want it to go.

Anxious Over Someone "Criticizing" Your Work?

As a writer, I know that one of the hardest things can be having your work looked over. As someone who also has anxiety over such things, I understand better than most how hard it may be to send your work to someone specifically for it to be 'criticized'. Please know, however, that your Beta is much more like a friend than a critic; they are there to help and encourage you, only! In that way, it would be much better to get the help from your Beta, than from the people in your comments who are reading your finalized story!

Remember:
In order to get your stories shown on DrarryCentral, you need to get approved first. This means that a Beta could really help you in getting your work showcased here!
Good luck and happy writing!

Always,

@CourtneyMalfoy22
