okay so, this is to help with
anyone who may be writing
a story where the Tri-Wizard
Championship is centeral to
the plot. here's some important
tips to writing it.

— The championship is originally only supposed to have three competitors; one from Durmstrang, one from Beauxbatons, and one from Hogwarts
— However for that year (Harry's fourth year) they put an age limit on how old you had to be to enter to presumably stop Harry from joining
— So if your OC is 17+ they can take the place of one of the three original competitors, you don't have to keep the canon characters in the championship
— But if they're not that's going to be a bit harder to explain and understand why someone under 17 was placed into the championship
— Of course there's the basic way that they go in with Harry and yaddayadda
— But there's cool ways to go about it too, like what if they were the main part of the prophecy not Harry or like what if someone misspelled Harry's name and it gave the OCs name instead
— But honestly the tri-wizard championship is hard to explain in stories when you make your underaged OC become part of it for no reason other than the 'she/he/they're part of the prophecy' type of stuff
