Chapter 20
Kazumi steps out of the elevator, stifling a yawn as she enters the common room. Bakugou is already hard at work in the kitchen, preparing breakfast, while Kirishima, still rubbing the sleep from his eyes, sits at the counter.
Taking a seat beside her dad, Kazumi greets him with a sleepy "Morning dad."
Kirishima, still in a half-awake daze, responds with a lazy "Morning."
As the morning haze begins to lift, Kirishima's eyes widen in surprise, his mouth forming a silent 'O' as he looks at the girl seated next to him.
"What did you just call me?" he asks, his confusion evident.
Realizing her slip-up, Kazumi's eyes widen in alarm, fully waking her up. "Forget I said anything! Why would I call you dad?! I'm just tired and didn't mean anything, at all!" she stammers, attempting to backtrack.
Bakugou, overhearing the exchange, snorts in amusement. "You're just as bad at lying as your dad, brat," he remarks, continuing to prepare breakfast.
Confused by Bakugou's comment, both Kirishima and Kazumi turn to him, their expressions mirroring each other's puzzled looks.
Bakugou chuckles, taking a seat at the table. "Idiots! Come on, Eijirou! It was obvious! These guys show up out of nowhere, look exactly like some of us, and their quirks are like ours mixed." He gestures with his chopsticks towards Kazumi. "I knew from the second I saw you that you just had to be mine and Eiji's."
Kirishima blinks in surprise, his expression shifting from confusion to realization, and then to a deep shade of red that matches his fiery hair.
"Is that true, Kazumi?" he asks, his voice filled with a mix of disbelief and excitement.
Kazumi nods sheepishly, confirming his suspicions.
Kirishima's initial embarrassment quickly gives way to jubilation. "Kats, a daughter! We're gonna have a daughter! How awesome!" he exclaims, unable to contain his excitement.
Bakugou grins at Kirishima's reaction, feeling a surge of pride as his boyfriend kisses his cheek enthusiastically. Kazumi can't help but giggle at the sight.
However, the joyous moment is quickly tempered by Kazumi's reminder of their need for secrecy. "Well, Aizawa Sensei is gonna kill us. He was very clear when he told us that no one can know," she says, her tone tinged with worry.
Determined to protect their newfound family member, Kirishima pumps his fists together enthusiastically. "Don't worry, Kazumi! We'll protect you!" he declares with unwavering resolve, earning a nod of agreement from Bakugou.
"Thanks, Dads!" Kazumi responds gratefully, feeling a sense of reassurance in their support.
As they continue with their meal, the rest of the class begins to trickle downstairs for breakfast. Hawks unexpectedly makes an appearance, announcing his impending discharge from the infirmary.
"Good morning, just dropping by for a last visit! Recovery Girl says I've recovered enough so she will discharge me this afternoon!" Hawks announces, greeted with congratulatory words from his students.
Tokoyami offers his mentor a smile. "Congratulations, Hawks-Sensei."
Hawks shares a knowing wink with Hato, who grins in return.
Meanwhile, Kazumi eagerly catches up with her best friend Hikki, who recounts the tense atmosphere of her family dinner the previous night.
"So, your dads know?" Kazumi inquires, her curiosity piqued.
Hikki nods solemnly, expressing her apprehension. "Grandpa is gonna kill me," she laments, burying her face in her hands.
Kazumi gently removes Hikki's hands from her face, offering a reassuring anecdote. "If it makes you feel any better, my dads know too. Papa said he knew from the moment we were introduced to Class 1-A."
Hikki's expression remains solemn as she processes this information. "Oh wow, we're screwed," she deadpans.
Kazumi nods in agreement. "Yeah."
Their shared realization prompts a sudden eruption of laughter as they exchange knowing glances.
Across the common room, Bakugou, Kirishima, and Denki observe the girls with affectionate smiles, silently appreciating their bond.
Meanwhile, Hato confides in the twins about the unsettling encounter with their uncles during the previous night's ordeal at their grandparents' house.
Itsuki and Shosuke are visibly taken aback. "Uncle Touya and Uncle Tenko attacked you?!" they exclaim in disbelief.
Hato solemnly nods, and Setsuko shudders at the memory. "That was so scary," she admits, her voice trembling.
"I don't think I've ever been so scared of my dad in my whole life," Hato confesses, his tone heavy with sadness.
In a gesture of solidarity, his cousins draw closer, enveloping him in a comforting embrace.
Just then, Kazumi and Hikki approach, their concern evident. "Hato, what happened?" Kazumi inquires, noticing the bruises marring his skin.
Hato proceeds to recount the harrowing events of the previous night, prompting expressions of disbelief from his friends.
"Damn," Shosuke mutters, shaking his head in disbelief.
"And I thought our family dinner was tense," Itsuki adds, a hint of amusement in her voice.
"So, what can we conclude? All of our parents now know?" Shosuke asks, glancing around at his friends for confirmation.
Itsuki lets out a groan of frustration. "We're all dead," she laments.
"Yup," Setsuko and Hikki chime in unison, their agreement punctuated by a playful pop of the 'p'.
Kazumi's frustration manifests in a dramatic gesture, her hands flinging up in exasperation. "We did the one thing Sensei clearly instructed us not to do!"
Abruptly, the tranquil atmosphere is shattered by the piercing wail of red lights and blaring sirens, sending a wave of fear rippling through the room. Everyone freezes, their hearts pounding with trepidation.
"Attention staff and students! Villain attack! Villain attack! Students, stay inside and let the pro heroes handle this!" a robotic voice commands, its urgency echoing through the halls.
In a swift and automated response to the imminent danger, metal shutters descend, sealing off the windows and plunging the room into a tense darkness.
Amidst the chaos, the six time travelers are abruptly thrust outside by some unseen force, their startled yelps lost in the commotion. Class 1-A reacts with frantic shouts of concern, attempting to catch them, only to be thwarted by the impenetrable barrier of metal shutters that now seal the front doors.
Kirishima's frustration boils over as he pounds his fists against the unyielding metal. "No!"
Shoto, Midoriya, Bakugou, and Denki stand frozen, their eyes wide with shock as they grapple with the sudden turn of events.
Outside, the six travelers groan in pain as they crash unceremoniously to the ground, the impact stealing their breath away. Their distress is palpable as they instinctively cover their mouths, stifling their gasps of pain.
A foreboding presence looms over them as All For One emerges, flanked by the hesitant figures of the League of Villains, their uncertainty apparent. Shigaraki and Dabi, in particular, appear conflicted, their loyalty wavering in the face of their master's ruthless command.
"Finally, I've been looking for you," All For One intones, his voice a chilling echo in the night.
Fear grips the six travelers as they exchange anxious glances, their dread mounting with each passing moment.
"I've sensed your arrival, you know? You six will be very helpful for my plan to take over the world. After all, you have important knowledge of the future," All For One monologues, his voice a sinister echo in the night. With purposeful strides, he advances toward the group, his eyes gleaming with malevolence as he seizes Hato by the neck, lifting him off the ground.
Hato's breaths come in ragged gasps as he struggles against the iron grip around his throat, his talons clawing desperately at the hand choking him. The sight sends a shiver of fear coursing through his cousins, who cry out in concern.
"Hato-nii!" they call out, their voices laced with worry.
"Let him go, you bastard!" Setsuko's voice rings out, edged with a fierce determination.
"We don't even know who you are, so why the hell would we help you?!" Kazumi's anger boils over, her words laced with defiance.
With a callous disregard, All For One hurls Hato aside, the sickening crunch of impact sending a wave of unease through his friends. Dabi snarls, flames dancing along his skin in a menacing display of fury.
Drawing dangerously close to Kazumi, All For One leans in, his touch sending a shiver of revulsion down her spine as he caresses her cheek. "Because if you don't..." His words hang heavy in the air, dripping with menace, "...I will kill you and everyone you love."
Stepping back, he turns his attention to Hato, who struggles to crawl away, only to have his face met with the crushing weight of All For One's boot.
Tears well up in Setsuko's, Shosuke's, and Itsuki's eyes as they watch in horror, their hearts heavy with dread.
"LET MY SON GO!" a thunderous voice demands, the air crackling with energy.
Bright blue flames illuminate the courtyard as red feathers swoop in, pulling Hato away from All For One's grasp just as he's distracted by the fiery onslaught. Relief floods through Hato as he gazes up, his eyes meeting those of his parents.
"Dad! Mom!" he cries out, his voice filled with gratitude and relief.
Amidst the chaos, explosions rock the ground, green lightning flashes, and an icy barrier rises, shielding the children from harm as the battle for their lives unfolds.
"Are you kids alright?"
"Dad!" the twins cry out in unison, their relief palpable.
"Touya-nii, Natsu-nii, Tenko! Get the kids inside the dorms!" Shoto's command is urgent, his gaze sweeping over his brothers with a mix of determination and concern. Natsuo and Tenko immediately comply, but Touya hesitates.
"No way in hell! I'm helping you fight this fucker!" Touya's defiance is palpable as he locks eyes with Shoto, his resolve unyielding.
"Touya, love, you're not a Pro. Please, go inside and take care of our son," Keigo's plea is soft but firm, his gaze filled with worry as he looks towards Hato, who lies on the ground, his pain evident.
Touya's shoulders sag with resignation, his fierce glare softening as he relents to Keigo's request. With a quick peck on his husband's lips, he scoops up Hato into his arms and rushes inside alongside Natsuo and Tenko, the urgency of the situation weighing heavily on them all.
